Grubbing With Ali

April 20th, 2016
Eating machine.

Eating machine.

Bucs right guard Ali Marpet may be an up-and-coming roadgrader of a lineman, but when it comes to wolfing down grub, he’s a Pro Bowler.

In a neat Buccaneers.com video, Casey Phillips and left tackle Donovan Smith decide to go eating with Marpet at a south Tampa taco joint. Let’s just say if you ever do dine with Marpet, make sure you are not picking up the tab.

Marpet even shamed Smith, no small man himself, with his hollow leg. At one point, Marpet needed a utensil so he could better “shovel” his meal.

Let Joe just say that watching that video made Joe awfully hungry for Mexican food.

It’s really cool that our LT and RG came into the league together. 2/5ths of our OL should be good to go for a long time.

I bet I could give him a run for his money eating tacos. I wolf them down.

6 tacos and 4 burritos from Taco Bell every visit. Tacos just are not filling.

Hawley is pretty good too. Thankfully. I hated having to search for a center.

I just love seeing these dudes hanging out and becoming more than just team mates. Will make our team that much better.

Yeah I think Hawley is an underrated talent as well. And at 27 he should have some years left in the tank as well.

My boy ate 12 tacos. That’s a real man. I’d take my shirt off with him now that his acne has cleared up. Nothing weird, just like a couple of bros.

    Speaking for Pablo

“A Tampa Taco Joint can’t stand up to Pablo’s cooking…..once Pablo has laid some of his chow on Marpet…..Marpet will be on the john through training camp and into the 3rd game of the season. Pablo makes…..tacos, burritos, chimichangas, quesadillas, gorditos, chalupas, enchiladas, mexican pizza and to top it all off….Pablo makes the ultimate $hitter special, the Grand Pablo Bean Bonanza”

Hilarious, you should take Pablo on tour.

I am nowhere near their size, but I know I can eat just as much as Ali. If not more. I think that is probably not a good thing.

I thought Pablo was Cubano or Puertorriqueño. Now you’re saying he’s Mexicano? Or does he have one parent of each? I would’ve expected some empanada, mojo criollo, picadillo, ropa vieja, sandwich Cubano, tostones or tres leches. His culinary choices are confusing the Caribeños.

    Speaking for Pablo

“@FLBoyInDallas,Pablo isn’t really sure (Pablo’s mother slept around) so Pablo rotates between Honduran, Puerto Rican, Guatemalan, Mexican….and on Saturday Night (smoke night)……Columbian. Pabo is an American citizen as are all of Pablo’s many, many Children. Pablo is proud to be and American citizen and supports America’s Quarterback, Hamus !!!”

    MMMMMMMMMM, tacos!

    Que viva Pablo!

You’ve done a great job with Pablo. Nothing like a little comic relief.

That was half of the starting rookie class we had last year.

I do like seeing them have fun and bonding. Looks like good chemistry going on.

Looks like Marpet is a popular dance instructor in the locker room.

I love some good Mexican food too. I’m not sure Taco Bell passes as that. Pablo could cook up a smorgasbord of spicy latino grub no doubt.
