Yes, Jameis Spoke With Local Media

March 1st, 2016
Jameis spoke with Joe from Honolulu about Lovie Smith's firing a month ago.

Jameis spoke to Joe in Hawaii about Lovie Smith’s firing in January.

The past week, Joe has noticed whining on Twitter and elsewhere from a couple of folks claiming America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, has yet to speak to a local outlet on the firing of Lovie Smith.

This notion is an untruth and suggests people are simply not paying attention.

How so? Because Jameis spoke with Joe at Pro Bowl practice in Hawaii (exclusively) about Lovie Smith being fired.

Here is one of Joe’s videos for all to see (again). Hell, the powerhouse sports station in the area, WDAE-AM 620, even embedded full audio of the Jameis interview on its website, and used the audio in sports updates and during late-morning and afternoon programming.

(Yes, Joe understands Jameis was interviewed by theMMQB.com about Lovie’s firing just after the season, but his words were not published until last week.)

Joe isn’t sure why some folks are fronting this falsehood that Jameis wouldn’t grant an interview to local media. It could be outright hatred of Joe (hey, Joe understands he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, no biggie) or deep-rooted insecurities that Joe unearths in people. But let there be no mistake: Jameis spoke with local media (Joe) a month ago — about Lovie and more.

In fact, WFLA-TV Channel 8 (an NBC affiliate), WTSP-TV Channel 10 (a CBS affiliate) and the largest cable distributor in the Tampa Bay area, Bright House Networks, all aired parts of Joe’s video interview of Jameis, and all credited JoeBucsFan.com.

So, this site, WDAE-AM, WFLA-TV, WTSP-TV and Bright House Networks shared Joe’s interview with Jameis talking about Lovie’s firing. Joe’s not good at math, but pretty sure that’s five local outlets that distributed the interview. Frankly, that’s kind of hard to miss.

Those claiming Jameis hasn’t spoken to local media are either totally out of touch, or are trying to brainwash folks into thinking if their outlet doesn’t have it, then it doesn’t exist, sort of like twisting René Descartes’ philosophy of existence.

If the latter is true, that’s truly sad.

No, Joe doesn’t give a damn about credit here. Joe doesn’t have an ego that needs stroking that badly, doesn’t need a pat on the back. But to suggest Jameis hasn’t spoken with a local credentialed outlet since Lovie was fired is simply inaccurate and makes those who push this notion look awfully petty.

That must be for Rick and tom in the morning. You tell em joe. Hey Joe’s. Are you done with the JBF hour for now? If so will you be uploading a podcast or something to your site? I’m missing your melodic tones on the airwaves.

Great job Joes’s!!! Keep telling the truth!! This is why some of it Love it here!!! You have always presented yourself honestly. You are foremost a fan with media credentials!! I hate when some media say that they are impartial, or because they are covering a team that the cannot be a fan or root for them, but they turn around and have their favorites don’t they (and their whipping boys) but they are impartial!!!!!

So Thank you for bringing us Bucs info, and being a Bucs fan and even mixing it up with us in the comments from time to time!!

Rick and Tom mentioned it and so has Big Dog. The way some of those guys have ripped Jameis, I wouldn’t talk to them either…at least for a couple of months.

  4. BucTrooper Says:

    Yep. I read that correctly…

Joe dropped Rene Descartes on yo ass.

Obviously J BO was not happy about the dismissal of lovie but knows this is a business and a “what have u done for me lately league.” I’m just glad we still have the same offense in place for J-BO because that’s what basically ruined the last pro bowl QB we had here, can’t have consistency when ur changing the OC every year. Hopefully Dirk isn’t gone after two years either. This team needs some consistency for once.

Maybe….just maybe….the “local media” doesn’t consider Joe part of the local media….perhaps they feel an online site doesn’t qualify.
But, it does look like Joe is the only one who got an interview on the subject and that’s probably what is upsetting. Their only part in the process is to air Joe’s interview….not their own.

Are you done with the JBF hour for now?

JoeBucsFan.com hour with Steve Duemig resumes tomorrow!

  8. Buccfan37 Says:

What could Winston say about Lovie that would be much different than most other opinions, a nice guy but a lousy head coach. He only would keep the lousy coach comment to himself.

  9. Fsuking Says:

Its those bad fans GMC was talking about. They just don’t get it

  10. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Joe

Now that Fsuking brought up the subject, I think you need to do a follow up with GMC93 about these “Fake Fans”!!! I can see GMC93 staying up until late at night in a middle of a rage war with these “Fake Fans” But what IF it was just 1 Guy??

That’s right, I am bringing up the possibility that it is none other than, JBF Commenting legend, The 7 time life Banned, Thomas 2.2!!!!
