Bucs tight end Brandon Myers issues an endorsement in the wake of Lovie Smith getting fired

Whoa! How about this nugget.

The Buccaneers’ benched tight end, Brandon Myers, inactive for most of the second half of the season is speaking out after Lovie Smith’s firing tonight.

Myers took to Twitter and declared, “Dirk has been the man since he walked in the door.” It’s pretty clear he was referring to Koetter, likely the same guy who made the veteran Myers his No. 4 tight end. That sure says a lot.

Ummm Joe I was planning to go to bed early tonight ya know…

  2. BrianBucs Says:

    I Agree 100%

  3. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

Do we have to do the Rooney rule since we just hired a black coach? That should satisfy that nonsense.

  4. JerseyBucsFan Says:

    ^ same here lol

  5. Seminole Bill Says:

Mixed feelings here. Another revolving door at head coach. Koetter the new Head coach????????????????

  6. This Guy Right Here Says:

At least Dirk comes out with a set of Balls in his pressers! And he’s cerebral too…

Unlike Lovie, putting people to sleep… saying the same cliches over and over..

    THANK YOU GLAZERS!!!

  7. Vincente Says:

Yes. Finally a great move. I was skeptical about Lovie but I believed he could do the job that is until I saw how the kids kept acting up on the field and Lovie did nothing about it. He is to soft and you can tell how soft he is based on his press conferences. The guy was straight up boring.

  8. Buc1987 Says:

Pretty much every word out of Lovie’s mouth was fraudulent the past 2 years. Glad it’s over.

  9. Alstott up the gut Says:

I agree with two major themes people are saying: I’m happy they made this move… And we continue to be a joke to the league. There is some serious talent on this team and hopefully the new D Coordinator (because Frazer has to be gone as well) needs to figure it out.

Bring in Mario Williams and draft the best pass rusher available!!

  10. Buc1987 Says:

Tampa was Lovie’s 15 million dollar retirement nest egg. That’s how he coach our team. Damn I should have played less Tecmo Bowl and more real football. I could’ve been another Lovie. 15 million or more.

    Where’s Realist?

  11. Buc1987 Says:

Alstott up the gut…EVEN my MOM said this team has young talent sprinkled all over this team. My MOM.

  12. Marvelous Mayhem Says:

Big Surprise. Very good news. I was disappointed when I heard nothing on Monday. I think Jameis knew the coach could not motivate the team. I think that’s why he lashed out at his teammates on Sunday.

  13. James Says:

I am not ok with this at all. Do t get me wrong, I was do not like the coach Lovie Smith but now we are back to square one. If they promote Koettwr then we’ll just be back to square 1.5. Prepare for a long off season and an even longer season next year.

  14. Alstott up the gut Says:

1987…. My gf just said this will be the 4th coach since we’ve been together. That fact makes me throw up in my mouth!

I’m agree with the move and prepare to get destroyed by reactions from the move.

  15. Stanglassman Says:

Maybe they bring in Mike Smith as HC or promote Koetter and ask Mike Smith to be DC. One thing I always liked about Mike Smith teams is how he managed the players heath wise, ATL was always the least injured team when he coached them, well that and his 66-46 record over 7 seasons.

  16. Buc1987 Says:

Yeah but perhaps Koetter IS the answer. Perhaps he is?

We have him here and perhaps the Glazers picked up on HIS leadership qualities being far superior to Lovie’s. idk

  17. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

So glad they made this call. Wonder what really happened to cause the decision to come out at 10pm. Glad still. Koetter would be fine w me. Def not Mike Smith. He was a joke in ATL. There are several good options out there. But to make this move the way the Glazers did. Makes me think they already have someone in mind. I hope its not but we tried to get Chip Kelly b4 he went to Philly. Maybe they r going after him now.

I just hope the hire someone who will hold these young guys account table. We need that more than anything right now. And Lovie clearly was not the man for that job.

  18. Buc'n Nutz Says:

Lovie was as soft as Puppy Chow. This was a great move. Lovie would be the guy for an older veteran team. The Father Dungy if you will. But when you have a bunch of undiciplined knuckleheads who just came out of the yard you need someone with a firm but fair mentality. I always cringed watching his emotionless punum on the sideline. No emotion. As crappy or as great as we were playing didn’t matter. And that carried right over to his blah pressers. Give me a sheppard to coral this scattered flock and turn them into the wolves that been picking us off for years. Turn these unruly school children into cold blooded pain dealing QB killers. Remeber those days? I do too.

  19. P'cola Buc Says:

Could Lovie have lost the confidence of the players?

  20. LargoBuc Says:

Im actually releived Lovie’s gone. Alot of issues were over blown by certain fans on here, but his mis management of personel can not be denied. And apparently the Glazers saw enough. But this team still has a problem, players just dont care, its been that way since Gruden was fired. I hope Licht can change that and our new hc isnt gone in two years.
And considering Jameis, Koetter is the logical choice for hc. He can bring in a young coach as oc thats familar with the four vert concepts. As for the defense…boy things just got fun 🙂

  21. Espo Says:

Bring in Mike Smith because his players were rarely injured? I just find a moment to get on this site and this is the logic I’m encountering? I can’t wait to read the rest.

  22. Mike10 Says:

Koetter just better start accepting that the modern NFL involves analytics! We don’t need any more outdated mindsets.

  23. Another J Says:

We’re blowing the servers up tonight.

  24. Mike Says:

    Warren Sapp for head coach

  25. Mike Says:

    Donald Trump

  26. Fire the glazers Says:

Say whatever positive things you want, the fact remains that the constant in the failed experiment that is the buccaneers is THE GLAZERS… Ever since Malcolm got sick, God bless him, his idiot sons slowly but surely set in motion the demise of this franchise… THEY need to go… Sell to someone with huevos and lets go get some lombardis… GO BUCS(not glazers) haha

  27. Fsuking Says:

Heck yea! New Video boards (I really hope they move the pirate ship, it already messes with my view of the tiny boards), new HC, new staff, new food options, new defensive players and maybe even a new slogan (take the booty?). Best of all… New hope! What a great day for Tampa Bay!

  28. Fsuking Says:

    @fire the Glazers
I’ll gladly purchase the team. I’m only 1.1 billion or so away. I agree they need to go, anyone wanna throw down with me?
