Bucs S Major Wright said Jameis’ 20-yard run was why he was picked No. 1.

Throughout today, Joe brought readers reactions from various players to the stunning 20-yard run by America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. It kept alive the final drive that ended in a game-winning touchdown. Yesterday’s run by Jameis may have saved the Bucs’ season, as they enter their final four games very much in the hunt for a wild card berth. This is the last segment.

S Major Wright

“That was an awesome play. We were sitting on the sidelines and basically, we needed a play. That’s what we drafted [Jameis] for. First pick. Hey, he came in and made plays like that. He’s up and coming. He is doing a great job of getting this team together and maintaining an offense.

“[Run signaled a win?] Oh, for sure. For sure. I knew momentum was headed our way. Three [Jameis] is doing a great job. Our offense is doing a great job. We thank him for it.

“Everybody [on the sidelines] was like, ‘Wow, whoa, whoa… what just happened?’”

From the stands we all thought he was down; there was a collective groan, followed by screaming.

Off-topic, but, why was the safety call reversed? From the replay shown on the Jumbotron, it sure looked like Ryan was in the end zone.

The playoffs look to be a stretch right now. However, the overall direction the team with Winston is moving is decidedly up. The Bucs are preparing to take the NFC South and the NFL by storm. It won’t be long. The wait will be worth the time spent waiting.

    Sem Bill-

Ryan’s feet were about an inch out of the endzone. He did release the ball in the endzone but it appears that his feet had to be in for it to be a safety.

  4. Brian Says:

It was an amazing moment in the stands. Pure shock. Thanks for the clarification on the safety…. I was wondering as well.

  5. orlbucfan Says:

Refs got one right about the safety. Ryan was (barely) out of the end zone when he threw the ball. He’s an all-pro QB so he knew where his feet were. I’m still high over Fameis Jameis and the SCRAMBLE. Sky’s the limit for this developing offense. YEAH BUCS!!!!!! 🙂

  6. Desanova Says:

“Loose ball, picked up by the Falcons.”

    Go Winston…

    A Winning Spirit…

    Excitement..

    Two things Lovie doesn’t have

  8. R.O. Says:

Barely out of the end zone?.. Don’t be a homer. It wasn’t even close. You’re either in or out. He clearly wasn’t in the end zone when he grew the ball.

  9. OneLove Says:

Thank you Lovie Smith for drafting the right guy!!! Thank you for bringing the winning culture back to Tampa!!

  10. Bobby Says:

What do you mean don’t be a homer?? Look at the play again and get an appointment with a good optometrist. He was barely out of the end zone. As a matter of fact, he WAS in the end zone but the ball wasn’t. It was very close to being a safety.

To me it looked like Ryan was a couple of inches outside the goal line on the near safety play. The look on Ryan’s sideline face after the pick to seal the win was priceless.
