ASJ Cleared For Contact

December 4th, 2015
Cleared by Bucs medial staff for contact.

Cleared for contact by Bucs’ medical staff.

Joe knows after the false alarms and teasing of the past month or so, it is dubious to type the following words, but here goes: Bucs tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins may play Sunday.

Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune let out word that the oft-injured but talented tight end was finally cleared for contact by the medical staff of the Bucs. Thus, it flashes a green light that ASJ could play Sunday against the Falcons.

However, Lovie Smith wouldn’t rule ASJ available quite yet. So the plot thickens.

Previously, the biggest reason the Bucs offered why ASJ has not played since injuring his shoulder at New Orleans in Week Two, was team doctors wouldn’t clear him for contact.

That hurdle is now jumped.

Easy Joe. Don’t talk about ASJ jumping any hurdles. That might set him back for the rest of the year.

  2. OnlyGodnoles Says:

  3. WalkdaPlank Says:

ASJ tore his shoulder labrum reading this post.

  4. The Buc Realist Says:

Pop the champagne sheep!!! The Dunkanners are back!!!!!

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Ease off ASJ……we want him to help us win out…..he’s a Buc and I give him the benefit of the doubt on his injury……I guess for most…..Gronk is soft…..so was Martin with his shoulder…..and Romo the softest of all.
We need all the weapons we can get and we need the offense to score often because I still don’t trust our secondary.

  6. OneLove Says:

WOOOOOOOOO!!! VJAX, Evans, ASJ, Brate!! LOOK OUT ATL!! BOUT TO GET STOMPED B!TCHES!!!!!

LETS GO MAKE SOME NOISE AT RJS PEOPLE!!!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  7. Buccfan37 Says:

If ASJ actually plays that should benefit the Bucs pass game with another big target for Winston. It will take a good effort by ASJ to turn Bucs fans in his favor.

  8. Newbucsfan2 Says:

    One Love

GO BUCS YOU. CAN WIN THIS ONE!!(please:)

  9. Newbucsfan2 Says:

Yeah…we will need to put a boat load of points to help the depleted defense!

I’ll believe it when I see him on the field

You’ve heard of a glass Jaw well this candy has a glass shoulder. Save him till next year, Continue to develop Brate

  12. BucTrooper Says:

    ASJ?

    Never heard of her.

  13. Louis Friend Says:

I’m not so sure Cameron Brate isn’t the better TE. He catches what’s thrown to him and doesn’t end up on the shelf afterwards. That’s pretty good as Bucs TE’s go.

  14. 813bucboi Says:

    we’ll see….GO BUCS!!!!

  15. Bobby Says:

Brate is good but ASJ has the capability to be elite. I’m glad we have him back. Winston and he have a good chemistry.

  16. Tampa Tony Says:

Who needs AS INJURED? We got Brate!!!

  17. "TheKevin" Says:

I couldn’t care less for this dude.

Watch out a blade of grass might touch your shoes and that’s atleast 3 more games out.

    Soft as toilet paper.

  18. Mike Johnson Says:

The “HotTub Man cometh” We will need a lot of offensive power come Sunday.
the Falcons held a, Players only team meeting this week and more than usual spirited practices were witnessed. Freeman and Hester are back from Injury. And no Gerald McCoy makes me nervous. We are gonna have to outscore ATL.

  19. Rob in Land O' Lakes Says:

Is Midol on the banned substances list?

    Sorry…. too easy…

  20. ATrain Says:

    ASJ..

    TRADE HIM NOW..

    Brate is doing great…

  21. loggedontosay Says:

Joe, McCoy did not play his first to years due to injuries, and when he did play, it was disappointing.

  22. BuccaneEric75 Says:

I’m surprised any doctor would clear him for contact.

  23. DallasBuc Says:

Expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised if he completes a pass or two for 10-15 yards. My concern is that he will take valuable snaps away from a productive all around TE like Brate who has proven that he is a reliable, tough contributed at the position in this offense and in this league.
Credit to lapdog Licht for putting Harvard in pads.

  24. ChessMaster Says:

I’d rather see that Harvard kid.

@The Buc Trolllist Says – The sheep don’t drink champagne..

ASJ will open things up for Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson. The Gronk is out. ASJ is in!

  26. Tony Says:

Stop hating on ASJ, guys. Dude had a serious injury. I remember a time not that long ago when everyone hated on Gronk for missing games all the time (granted he’s injured again). Give the kid a chance. He’s epically more talented than Brate.

  27. Mr. D Says:

All kidding aside the shoulder injury ASJ got was pretty serious. Just a series of unfortunate luck. The bright spot here is we found out that Brate can ball. Two tight end formation with a play action pass to either Brate or ASJ? Mr. D approves.
