Huge game coming Sunday for Will Gholston and the rest of the standout Bucs run defense

You know it’s coming. Joe knows it’s coming. And your Buccaneers’ NFC best run defense knows it’s coming.

Joe’s not joking. When opponents run against the Bucs, they face their toughest test in the NFC. Tampa Bay allows just 3.7 yards per rush.

Enter the Cowboys’ mauling offensive line. Dallas rushes for 4.5 yards per carry and his coming off a big day for running back Darren McFadden against the Eagles.

Something has to give.

It’s going to be a big Sunday for right defensive end Will Gholston. He’s a weak pass rusher, but Gholston can play the run. He’s a tremendous load to block for a defensive end — 6-6 and 285 pounds with quickness. Joe also expects to see some of 280-pound Henry Melton at left defensive end, where Melton played a bunch this preseason.

The Bucs simply have to load up to stop the run Sunday, otherwise the game could get out of hand.

Yeah, the Bucs’ pass defense is soft, but Joe will take his chances that Matt Cassel will make plenty of mistakes. He also hasn’t won a road game as a starter since early 2012.

The have the best run defense, because other teams just run the ball for the sake of balance, when they want to move the ball they throw. And when they throw, we talk about finding a new head coach.

Hold on! Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait! Aunt Geraldine just jumped offsides again on 3rd down.

Fix the pass rush/secondary and we are good.

    Draft CB, DE, S

    FA….WR

    That should do it…..

Gholston was BY FAR our best defensive lineman last week!

… our run defense is the only stat I won’t call ‘fluff’ with regards to our D. They’ve been strong. Only thing I’ll say is I saw LVD ole’ a few TFL last week on runs.

  5. ElioT Says:

The Cowboys wont run the ball on this defense…

Because Cassel will be able to pass with ease against this sh*tty secondary.

The Cowboys are in disarray and the Sucs are just the team to fix that. They’ll be coming out of this game looking like a playoff team, guaranteed.

    Siege this!

    Go Sucs!

Remember Joe, mediocre QBs have good games against the bucs but BAD QBs have HoF games

Gholston was playing with fire and passion last week. It was pretty easy to see while watching the game. Keep it coming big guy.
