Lovie Considers Jumping In Jason Licht’s Pool

Lovie speaks

Bucs general manager Jason Licht obviously has a deep love for his dry cleaner and a sinister dislike for Lovie Smith.

Licht (see the link above) baptizes himself after every Bucs victory in the Licht family pool, and he shares the celebration on social media, where he advised Lovie there was plenty of room in the pool after the next Tampa Bay win.

Challenge issued!

Lovie was asked about this during his radio show Monday evening on the Buccaneers Radio Network. A fan wanted to know whether Lovie would take the plunge.

Lovie’s got some issues, so it might not happen.

“It’s just I’m not a big swimmer. I try to stay out of the water as much as possible. We’ll see,” Lovie said.

Hmm, why is Licht inviting Lovie in the pool when he doesn’t like it?

Regardless, c’mon, Lovie. Beat Philly on Sunday and get in the damn pool. It’s not like you’re a scared kind of guy. You endured far worse trauma last season, and by watching Tim Jennings’ film.

Also, you’re same guy who was prepared to machete the head off a monkey in Costa Rica.

Licht has “a sinister dislike for Lovie Smith”?

    Oh, come on…

…you’re getting as bad as the local media hacks lately, Joe.

Just like much of his defensive “adjustments” it might take over a year before he decides to whether to jump in or not!!!!

  4. DallasBuc Says:

This whole jumping in a pool thing fully clothed after a win is dumb. Maybe just acquire better talent, coach and play better on Sundays so winning doesn’t have to become some weird superstitious-laden event for which we have to watch our lapdog GM engage in such gimmicks.
    Lovie can’t swim either?

  5. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Wow this is a tough group of guys. What they can’t have some fun along the way. That’s one thing that has been missing from this franchise since Rah left…it doesn’t have to be the No Fun League.

Same with Joe. This is a blog not the morning paper. As a former journalist I respect Joe when he’s reporting on serious stuff. But I don’t need Joe to be grim and deathly serious. If he wants to troll us with his “America’s QB” or stories like this one…lighten up guys…Licht and Joe are just having some fun!

  6. Buccfan37 Says:

Somebody might pee in the pool.

  7. DallasBuc Says:

Maybe Incompetent Lovie Smith should consider swim lessons with the other 5 year olds before he considers jumping in pools with his lapdog GM.

    @DallasBuc

Sounds like you need a hug buddy?? and by hug, I mean my WANG!

Don’t act like you’re NOT EXCITED about seeing Lovie in a speedo!!! WOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  9. DallasBuc Says:

OneLove- you demonstrate an unhealthy obsession with dcks in dudes faces. Free country but honestly bizarre.

  10. OneLove Says:

    @DallasBuc

Unhealthy?!?! Quite the opposite actually. A wang in your face might be exactly what you need to turn that frown upside down!! 😀

  11. DallasBuc Says:

You are such a creepy guy. Yuck

  12. Joe Cool Says:

@DallasBuc, you’re name should just be @DallasDbag, why do you even have “Buc” at the end of your name? Sheesh…

  13. Idontwannahearitanymore Says:

This thread has gotten out of hand. Lighten up! Go jump in a lake (or pool)!

  14. DallasBuc Says:

Joe cool calling people dbag. Feel better?
I’m a Bucs fan and Bucs fan only. Believe it, don’t believe it. Don’t care tough guy.

Hydrophobia – an abnormal or unnatural dread of water.

It’s not out of the question that a kid raised in central Texas would not be a great family. My wife was raised on Michigan’s UP and Lake Superior. Due to cold water and heavy work load in the family store neither she nor her siblings learned to swim.

We have a pool in the backyard and my wife will get in up to her chest but she NEVER gets her head under the water.

Maybe Lovie is afraid of the water. He wouldn’t be the first and won’t be the last and it’s a sign of a mental condition…”hydrophobia”.

Maybe Lovie is like DallasBuc and not a real “fun” kind of guy. Whatever it’s amazing that some people use something this INSIGNIFICANT to take another shot at Lovie. It’s starting to get absurd.

I had bad indigestion the other day because of some spicy burritos. My initial reaction was to blame “Pablo” but then I realized that somehow…some way this was Lovie’s fault!

I actually agree with lovie…let the gm have some fun during the season with his antics…lovie is the type of coach that stays focused on the task at hand and is all business…now a coach like rex ryan may join licht but not lovie….GO BUCS!!!

  17. MadMax Says:

Whatever it takes! Just keep progressing. I like it that Licht is doing this….needs that AC/DC jamming in the background as he does.

My hopes are tamed to say the least after everything, but hey, like Jameis said, lets win 7 in a row….ALL ON YOU JAMEIS, YOU”RE TAKING THE REIGNS!!
