How bout those 4-5 Buccaneers!

Your Bucs rose from a stench of an offensive afternoon and pulled out an old school victory.

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, almost was America’s Goat on the goal line in the fourth quarter, but the football gods don’t treat Jameis like a typical Buccaneer.

Get used to it.

The Den of Depression nickname sure fits for most of this afternoon. For 3 1/2 quarters, this was one of the more boring Bucs games in years.

Sloppy football plagued the Bucs’ defense, offense and special teams. Dumb penalties were rearing their ugly heads — again.

But the defense was there all game, suffocating the big play and the Dallas running game. The Bucs have no four-man pass rush, but the back seven were sharp enough today to withstand the up front failures.

This was the kind of game the Bucs lose, but they won. Enjoy it.

Not sure how I feel about this win. We got lucky and won. I seen nothing that tells me this team has turned the corner. I see another string of losses to follow. Buy I’ll enjoy this win for the week. GO BUCS!!!

  5. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

    Jameis = hope

    Lovie = dope

We’d be a playoff team this year with a better coach. He’s coming back whether I like it or not, but anything less than playoffs next year should be fired.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Ugly game.

    Win is a win.

At least the whole backup QB thing is off our backs!

    One game from .500

  7. OneLove Says:

    @Lovie is Dog Poo

It wasn’t pretty, but a great win! It’s nice to at least have hope of playing meaningful games late season…hell yeah Bucs!

  10. Jc tree Says:

Is it 1999 ? Great win

  11. Jeagan1999 Says:

Thank God! I hate the cowboys! Jamies is coming along nicely. He’s got guts and is tough, but he has to learn to take better care of the ball. Still it’s nice to see progress being made!

“football gods don’t treat Jameis like a typical Buccaneer.”

I will get used to it.

    Bwahahahaaha, nice f’n win.

Cowfnpuke jerseys back in the closet in Tampa.

  13. Danny Mac Says:

I saw some improvement in the defense. They held the Cowboys to six points. If Alexander doesn’t drop that pick he is off to the races.I will take good win any day.We have doubled our wins from last year.Go Bucs!

  14. Tom Edrington Says:

Thank you Dallas, for the end zone holding penalty!!!

    Play of the game.

  15. Bucballya Says:

JW would be very good if he were accurate, but he is not. If and when he becomes accurate, TB will have a bright future.

  16. Rob Says:

Pre snap and unsportsmanlike penalties must be addressed to beat even a mediocre team. The cowgirls suck. Release Jenkins and fine the rookie for each idiot offsides

  17. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

I’m wearing my buccaneers jersey to work friday, enjoying the euphoria while it last! F* the cowboys!!

  18. MOTLEY BOY Says:

WELCOME TO THE SHOW , J BABY GOT THE MOJO RISING!

  19. JaMarcus Leafwhich Says:

This game was won by the defense despite our poor play at quarterback. Jameis should thank the Cowboys defense for bailing him out. Those interceptions were all his fault. Can’t blame the receivers today, although I’m sure Joe will try anyway.

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The defense stepped up today…..I don’t care who the team or QB is…..only 6 points……we would be 9-0 if they played this well all year.

Stuffed the run….and our Corners actually covered their WRs….& TEs…..

    Good job!!!!

  21. Bucsalltheway Says:

Couldn’t have beat a better team!!!!

  22. MadMax Says:

Look, we’re probably picking around 15 to 20 in the draft. I still say get Jameis another WR with that 1st pick. I know we need DB and DE, but Jameis can keep us in games with a better receiving corp.

  23. Bucsalltheway Says:

America’s quarterback beats America’s team….I been sold in famous Jameis!!!

  24. R.O Says:

    JW was off all day..

  25. DraftJameis Says:

    “JaMarcus Leafwhich”

    Your points are all valid.

Your name is ignorant and stupid.

  26. Tampa Tony Says:

A win is a win. But Jameis has A LOT of work to do

  27. David Smythein vulnerable Says:

Greg hardy Dallas Cowboys karma is a hitch

  28. MadMax Says:

Those interceptions were off of tipped balls guys….did you even watch the game? Yes JW has been inaccurate at times, and that last int was behind Humphries, but Humphries still tipped it.

  29. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

If “off all day” = game winning last minute TD drives, I’ll take it every week

  30. BucfanBF Says:

Defense is finally stepping up and just I tine.

  31. Jerry_G Says:

The saints lost today and the falcons had a bye week.if we win next weeks game and the falcons lose we’ll still be in well hopes of being playoff bound via wild card!

  32. loggedontosay Says:

Joe I watched the game and we saw to different games. I saw a defense that put pressure on the quarterback all games. I saw a defensive back taking Bryant out of the game, linebackers interrupting passing lane and getting to the ball on passing completions and run plays, and a defensive line that was stopping the run. I saw an offense that is played well, but it needs more time gell. However, despite the fact that so many pieces are missing, the offense got better as the game went on. The defense is missing a dominant three technique defensive lineman.

  33. cspann Says:

We got lucky with that holding call. Im cool with that though. I dont know how you let Dez run free like that we got lucky he didnt make the catch. JW need to address his accuracy other than that the offense is improved.

  34. bee Says:

I don’t know if it was apparent to most fans before this game but we need more talent. On both sides of the ball. Glad we won. But my God, we need better players.

The two of you either do not know football or you are haters. I think haters. Many of the poster are just posiers.

  36. Mike Johnson Says:

As I’ve always said..WIN.by any means necessary baby. Its going to be so nice
around the..water cooler Mon morning as those Cowboy fans are in mourning. and me.. wearing my Bucs jersey. (lotsa cowboy fans where I work)

  37. TheShaz Says:

JW is a rookie Qb with…

    #1 WR out
    #2 WR with sophomore issues
    #3 WR out
    #1 TE out

Receivers spots have been filled with former practice squad guys. Opposing defenses ate stacked vs the run.

For a rookie he’s doing pretty good, mistakes? Yes. But you can see his desire and his influence on this team starting to form.

  38. Brent Says:

That makes up for skins loss. That was ugly. Props to d smith for handling hardy. Jw clearly off today. He has no receivers. Whose this asj guy everybody talking about. When did we get him?? Never seen him?

  39. Howard Cosell Says:

Couldn’t of happened to nicer team!
    Go Bucs!

    Dallas = Jerry’s kids:
    # Primadonnas and wife-beaters

  40. Howard Cosell Says:

ASJ is only a myth like the Loch Ness monster.

  41. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

Eagles with Bradford are beatable but if he misses next weej then we have a real chance to reach 500

  42. Buc Neckid Says:

BUCS always have problems with first week Back up QB’s
They Made Nick Foles a Superstar in his first game vs. BUCS

  43. BucFan20 Says:

Glad I did not watch or listen. So we have 2 weapons. Winston and Barth. Barth being the main one. Now if only we could find more that could score we could beat good teams. If Romo played it would have been another blow out.

Don’t forget a starting guard is out too.

  45. StPeteBucsFan Says:

We finally got some breaks and calls maybe the football gods are over whizzing on us. As far as Dez’s little push…coulda shoulda woulda…there was one catch by ME where the replay showed the Dallas DB had him wrapped before the ball arrived.

Best sights of the day…Jerry Jones with his plastic surgery warped face looking in disgust after the goal line penalty. Get used to it you P O S this is your karma now for not only signing Hardy but then being so effing stupid as to call him a team leader. JJ is starting to offend past ‘Boy’s stars. Aikman was less than complimentary on the radio this week when the subject of Hardy came up.

And then there was the shot on TV with Hardy and the fans jawing at each other. I hope the sidelines and fans at every stadium just keep it up and increase the volume of their hate towards Hardy. I do not believe it if anybody tells me this is not a distraction. And to think a significant number wanted the Bucs to get him!

  46. Johnny "America's Commenter" Dejay Says:

That was one heck of a good coaching job by Lovie and staff yesterday. Lovie’s defense gave up the fewest points in the NFL last week. The two young corners are the difference, they are going to be stars for years to come!
