Rainey: Bye Week “Sucks”

Bobby Rainey just wants to play

Players love the bye week. Bucs are no different.

For rookies, it’s a rare weekend off during a football season. They may never have experienced that, especially with cash in hand.

For example, right guard Ali Marpet is going to visit and watch his old high school team. He hasn’t done that since he was in high school. Others plan to visit their college programs, if they aren’t hanging with family or chilling somewhere tropical.

However, Bucs running back/kick return man Bobby Rainey is one of the rare birds. He wants to play football Sunday and thinks the bye is coming at an awful time, so types Andrew Astleford of BSPN.

“It kind of sucks when you have this momentum and then you’ve got to stop,” [Rainey] said Wednesday. “I’d rather just keep it going.”

Rainey has a very good point, but good luck finding other Buccaneers who don’t want a weekend off, though Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback, pounded his fist this week telling the world he won’t stop working.

Rainey could be right. Bucs coach Lovie Smith wants his team to develop habits, as in winning habits.

They finally win a game at home and mere hours later, the team is scattered across the globe.

yeah sure it Halts the Momentum we Got, But the timing is perfect cause now we are gonna be able to come back a lot Healthier with some Depth. and Washington will be a little more Banged up than they are Now and on Weaker Legs while we are Feeling Fresh..

It sucks for us too, Bobby!!!

I love this kid. I would wish for him to have a bigger role, but our RB situation seems to finally be in the right direction.

  4. JAB83 Says:

I bet he could be a two way player if he wanted… Hey Bobby spend the weekend playing corner back and see if you can convince the coaches to give you a shot… Just a thought….

I’m not fond of the bye week either. The players get at least 6 months off a year, make it 20 regular season games. There’s plenty of stretchers and plenty ready to step in.

Really?? Your life is so miserable it hangs on if the Bucs play a game and win or lose? Gotta love America!!

  7. BlogTalkFootball Says:

We should ask our WRs to play CB a few downs each game. Bet VJax could pull it off.

R.O…..I don’t know who you’re talking to, but for me yes the Bucs are a BIG part of my life and no my life is not miserable. Boring, but not miserable.
