“It’s Mandatory”

October 11th, 2015

McCoy mugThe importance of todays’ win against the bumbling Jaguars wasn’t lost on Gerald McCoy.

In the happy Bucs locker room, McCoy explained to Joe and others that there was a lot on the line.

Aside from avoiding the season death knell of 1-4, and two weeks of bye-week hate from angry fans and blood-sniffing media, the Bucs needed the win to get the most from their upcoming time off.

“We had to get this one. It’s mandatory,” McCoy said. “Going into a bye week, you don’t want to go into it with no momentum like last year. You want to go into it with as much momentum as you can.

“The biggest thing today is we came up with the plays we needed to come up with, and we finished. And that’s been the biggest issue for us in the past, is finishing.’

McCoy noted that last year, the Bucs were clobbered at home 48-17 by the Ravens as they entered the bye week. It was the worst-case scenario, McCoy said.

Like it or not, the NFL is very much about momentum and attitude and confidence. The Bucs have that now — at the right time.

McCoy’s damn right. It was mandatory.

    Psyched up.
    1- bucs win
    2- usf bulls win
    3- jameis no interceptions

What are the odds of all 3 happening in one weekend.

  3. Seminole Bill Says:

What a weekend. Bucs win at home and Cubs in the playoffs. By the way, Buc fans, there were almost as many Jaguar fans there today as we Buc fans. There were plenty of empty seats to go around. Come out to the game, guys.

Good week although Jennings and Jenkins had me worried at the end.

Shore up the Bucs pass defense to limit these good passing QB’s and the Bucs ain’t too shabby.

We drowned out the Jag fans in our section. They were too busy taking selfies and drinking themselves into oblivion. The beer guys spent most of their time with that gang!
