“Code Red” Game At Washington

"Simple as that, Jay. We put it on you."

“Simple as that, Jay. We put it on you.”

Last year, the 1-8 Bucs went to Washington and beat the snot out of the Redskins 27-7. Even ghostly Michael Johnson had a sack, one of six for Tampa Bay on the day.

So Skins head coach Jay Gruden is speaking out, clearly knowing his sorry team is in a world of trouble come Sunday.

The folks at BSPN were listening to Gruden yesterday. He sees the writing on the wall with the 2-4 Redskins heading to New England after playing the Bucs.

The situation Sunday. Gruden said it’s “a code red for us.”

There is downright panic in D.C., and there should be. Joe has watched the last two Redskins games, both losses, and there’s not much progress going on there. Many, but not all, who were screaming for Kirk Cousins are jumping head first off the bandwagon.

Skins legend Brian Mitchell, a hero in those parts, is trumpeting the return of Colt McCoy to the starting lineup. Joe can’t blame the guy. The Redskins looked downright soft yesterday, especially on an anemic 1st-and-goal drive in the fourth quarter yesterday. They came up empty.

As for the “Code Red,” well, it’s also another code-red affair for Lovie Smith. For if the Bucs lose to the Redskins on Sunday, then who exactly are they qualified to beat the rest of this season?

This game scares the hell out me…

On paper, we should win this.. But on paper, we should’ve beaten the Titans and Texans, and lost to the Saints, so who the fcuk knows…

Just dont be surprised if they come out gunnin, and our guys come out relaxed and Lovie-Like after a week off.

  2. Buc1987 Says:

Hudson High School Joe, they’d be qualified to beat Hudson@ RayJay of course.

At Hudson it might be a close one as long as Jenkins and Jennings remain in the lineup.

  3. Sick of Lovie Says:

Just keep feeding Martin and Sims. Beat them up on the ground and take your shots in the fourth quarter.

  4. Buc1987 Says:

24-13 Bucs as the Bucs have their first true dominating defensive game of the season. One of the 24 will be a pick 6. That’s what the crystal ball is showing me.

  5. Supersam Says:

Trap game. I hope Lovie Dovie knows this game has our season on the line, we got some tough tough games coming up.

  6. NewTampaChris Says:

Let’s consistently beat the other crappy teams. That’s the only way to move up the crap totem pole. And let’s remember that the Titans boat-raced us in Tampa — it’s the only game they’ve won all year.

  7. Tom Edrington Says:

    NTC is correct.

The Redskins are a really, really bad football team and of course little Gruden is scared. Losing to the Bucs would really piss Daniel Snyder off and ultimatley send young Gruden packing.

  8. James Walker Says:

I think the Buc’s are more talented, and unless there are some freak plays we should win.

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

The little floater thingy in my magic 8 ball is out of wack, I guess I’ll have to pull out the ouija board to find who’s going to win the Bucs at Redskins game. I could go see a palm reader but those are generally unreliable.

  10. The Buc Realist Says:

This is like the old wrestling match were the loser has to retire and never work again!!!!

  11. Gambelero Says:

Washington favored by 3.5 at home, Vegas thinks we have about a 40% chance of winning

  12. DB55 Says:

who exactly are they qualified to beat the rest of this season?

You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth. Lol, couldn’t help myself.

  13. GhostofTedford Says:

I have to admit entering this week I am most impressed with our O-line and most concerned about our receiving corps. Too many dropped passes. Just keep getting better I am feeling good about this Sunday.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

If ASJ is healthy & playing….I see him being a monster on Sunday…..I also think our defense will be quite stout….
Looking to also pound some with Martin & Sims.

    Bucs win…..24-10…..

  15. Tiny Tim Says:

Winston aka “Bust” will throw at least 2 interceptions and we’ll lose by 3. Redskins are still mad about this year and Gruden will likely get fired if he cannot beat the Bucs. This has trap written all over it.

  16. Bawlmerbuc Says:

My ten year old daughter and I will be at the game rootin’ our boys to victory. Speaking from experience, Redskins fans are the absolute worst. If anyone else will be at FedEx, watch your back! FedEx Orange Lot F22 is where the tailgate for Buc-friendly pregame festivities will be……Food and drinks are on me.

  17. Bucnut2 Says:

If TO margin is equal or favors us, we win. If skewed toward skins we lose. We are to good enough yet to overcome turnovers. I say play we smash mouth and run, screen passes and checkdowns. Take a few shots downfiled to ME, VJ and ASJ. Lastly hope we don’t make whoever plays QB for skins, look like a Hall of Famer.

  18. Bucnut2 Says:

    not good enough

  19. Tampa Tony Says:

No game is a automatic win with Loser Lovie at the helm

  20. ATLBucsFan Says:

Don’t see how anyone could expect ASJ to be a ‘monster’. He hasn’t showed it even though the Joe’s keep expecting it. Come to think of it we haven’t see any jump balls tossed yet either. VJ’s been the most consistent but he’s dropped several as well. Would love to see all three (VJ, ME, ASJ) really explode. Here’s hoping it happens soon.

  21. Buc1987 Says:

Whoever is impersonating Tiny Tim is an immature moron and that’s putting it lightly. See how no one responds to you….

  22. WalkdaPlank Says:

Would love to see the Bucs take some shots downfield, but Lovie probably won’t allow it. So hopefully Dougie has another good game and Winston doesn’t turn short passes over.

  23. Another J Says:

    The backup quarterback scares me…
Kirk might go all Joe Montana on Jennings, and Jenkins!

  24. Howard Cosell Says:

Which ever team loses will be in a state of chaos. The Redskins even
more so than the Bucs. Personally I think we have the Redskins number.
Howard looks forward to a dominating game by the Bucs and then
watching the uproar in Washington on espn.

    Go Bucs! Unleash the piranha!
    Unleash Dougie and Simms!
Howard hopes that the Bucs corners have something to prove.

  25. Howard Cosell Says:

Maybe Tiny Tim is the alter ego of Capt Tim?
Good cop, bad cop type of thing.

  26. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

Can’t wait to see this game so I can tell you guys what we need to do to improve !!!

  27. Strider.... Sec 146 Says:

Jameis is going to throw for over 300 yards and have 3 TDs muscle Martin will get 2 TDs Bucs win 38-10 welcome back M.E and ASJ

  28. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“As you know, Pablo does table dancing on the side….many nights after working on hot Pasco County roofs during the day. Pablo has danced along side of a person they called “Tiny Tim”……and Pablo doesn’t need to explain how he got his nickname….let’s just say he didn’t last long in the profession because of his shortcomings…..Pablo thinks this might be the same person”

  29. BucsFan85 Says:

ASJ Retweeted Joes story on him today. Cool that he follows JBF. Hate to say it Joe but I don’t think he liked your story. Lol

  30. Buc1987 Says:

    TBBF….Pablo might be onto something.

    Bust

Classic Yungry, hey Tiny Tim….I think I found the culprit. Being how this is my home, I pretty much know everyone’s style and this wreaks of Yungry. I’m almost 90 % sure of it. Here’s where Yungry the troll chimes in an declares innocence.

  32. DB55 Says:

I think we can beat both these teams. Am I dreaming?

  33. Tiny Tim Says:

Tiny Tim doesn’t like Pablo! Never have and never will. Tiny Tim is the best commenter on this site and the most logical. Tiny Tim is young and hungry so that makes him yungry. Tiny Tim is calling out Jameis to stop being inconsistent and put together back to back wins.

  34. BucFan20 Says:

There is always the constant. They WILL try to give it away!

  35. Buc1987 Says:

If you want Joes I can use a different name to moderate the message boards for you. I’m glad you didn’t let my comment go through in here. It’s definitely not the place for it, but something really needs to be done.

  36. Danr Says:

I was at the game last year. Some really drunk fans. 2 guys passed out infront of me.

  37. Danr Says:

I brought a coat and covered up my bucs gear for the walk home the section I was in was pretty good but there are some brutal fans and I think I saw a couple fights break out in the parking lot after the game

  38. cmurda Says:

I don’t see how in the world this could be a trap game for us. Sure, the Skins stink but we were 2-14 last year and we are 2-3. We haven’t earned the right to have a trap game. In fact, any team playing us should be viewing it as a trap game until we show some true promise. The easier part of our schedule is finished so we will see what this team is made of in the next several weeks.

  39. Mo_Downs Says:

Any NFL coach talking about “Code Red” should be fired, NOW.
    That’s Sean Peyton talk..!!

DC’s idiot coach is right on this side of the Woody Hayes cray-cray line.

“Obsession is Enthusiasm on a CRACK-METH-Wild Irish Rose cocktail”

In case you’re wondering…Woody Hayes was the long time OSU coaching legend that got so angry that “HIS” (legends do trip) team threw an INT with 2:00 to play that he ran out on the field and “clothes-lined” the player who intercepted the ball. Of course, he was fired.

But, Sean (The Bounty Hunter) Peyton, a true rat scum coach, is still coaching in the NFL.

    Go Figure…!!!

@BucsFan85 Says -“ASJ Retweeted Joes story on him today. Cool that he follows JBF.”

It really sucks that there are a bunch of bozo’s who post on this website. Considering Austin Seferian-Jenkins was reading here and to think he has to see all the Tiny Tim BS and others who do nothing but tear this team and its coach down.

Shame on those who abuse the best Buccaneer fan site as their own private child like soap opera, As JBF World Turns.

  42. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

    Seriously man, ASJ is replaceable.

  43. Bawlmerbuc Says:

    @DC_Buccs……see you Sunday!

  44. Johnny "America's Commenter" Dejay Says:

This game doesn’t matter because real football doesn’t start until November.
