“We’re Tennessee Ready”

Lovie discusses today's season opener.

Lovie discusses today’s season opener.

One key saying of Bucs coach Lovie Smith comes when he refers to a future opponent. Lovie will claim the Bucs are either ready — or not ready — by saying “(insert name of foe) ready.”

In this video sitdown with multimedia maven Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, Lovie pronounces the Bucs “Tennessee ready.”

Also, Lovie dismisses the paranoia many Bucs fans have about rookie offensive linemen Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet, saying, “I have no problem playing young players. If they are the best, why not give them their chance?”

    You better be MF!!!

  2. cometowin2 Says:

Finally here. Originally wanted Marcus Mariota but I’m all in on Winston. Go Bucs! If we lose it will be due to the OL, DE or special teams. Strong everywhere else.

  3. cometowin2 Says:

Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet will be fine long term. I’m just worried about today.

  4. StPeteBucsFan Says:

I think this is just another reason why the first game of the year has a ton of pressure. There is no excuse for not being Tennessee ready. No excuse for the Titans not to be Tampa ready…the Falcons for being Eagle ready…every team has had an entire training camp and PS to get ready for that first opponent.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

I’m getting Tennessee ready too. Getting my game gear together. Coolers, Buc flag and sore throat drops. Al Lopez here I come.

    Gooooooo Bucs!

    Taaaaaaaaaaampa

  6. Dave Says:

Buc 1987 are you the annoying fat guy who sits in the end zone by yourself and everyone looks at you cross eyed?

  7. Buc1987 Says:

Dave..are you the annoying idiot that trolls JBF daily typing idiotic comments about our team?

    Yep.

  8. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Brian Orakpo is a big nasty linebacker with the potential to hurt a QB. He was a 3 time Pro Bowler, who became unhappy when the Redskins franchised him.
You can bet that Tennessee will send him after Jameis on blitzes. We need to always be aware of him today.

  9. DB55 Says:

    What ray rice said ….

  10. Tom Edrington Says:

    @STBF:

With the new training camp regs on hitting and so few practices, I’m not so sure how “ready” all the teams are. The camp rules help the good teams, they’re already fundamentally sound, hurts the bad teams and results in a lot of sloppy tackling the first two weeks and other such nonsense.

Good news is Bucs are basically up against themselves — a 2-14 team with a high draft pick at QB.

  11. Dave Says:

Bucs1987 will be hanging outside the Bucs locker room after the loss today to give Jameis Winston a bj

  12. vegabuc Says:

Buc1987 lfao that was a classic! Enjoy the game bro, I know I will. Go bucs

  13. Buc1987 Says:

Dave will be at Walmart today shopping for a new life.

  14. FLBoyInDallas Says:

This is always a special time that comes only once a year. A time when Bucs fans are filled with hope, just hours before having their souls crushed once again. I’ll enjoy it while I can.

  15. BucMania Says:

They’re rookie o-line all over the NFL . The Pats started 3 of them so no fn excuses. Lovie and the Bucs will either unite a fanbase today or ruin the season. Last year we lost to a back up QB one week and a3rd stringer the next so let’s hope we have learned something from last year. Please give us a home win. The fanbase is literally dying for it….

  16. passthebuc Says:

@DB85. I think Ray was paying a complement. MF = My Friend /LOL

  17. MadMax Says:

Im just not that excited guys….sorry. We may pull this one out, but the rest…..uhgggggg!

  18. Buc1987 Says:

Mx…by midseason buddy, by midseason we’ll be excited. Bucs win today though.

  19. BuccoDav Says:

1987 – that’s ridiculous. That Dave can’t afford a new life, even if he shopped at The Salvation Army! Besides, trolls don’t want new lives, they like to wallow in their own misery. Dave, thanks for posting on your Obamaphone. For those of us who are paying for them, it’s good to know they are being put to good use.

  20. Buccfan37 Says:

I think I’d rather hear Lovie say we’re Buccaneer ready rather than some other team ready. Put the emphasis on the Bucs being ready.

  21. tgreg Says:

    What a moron

  22. Buc15 Says:

Good thing we are Tennessee ready or this could have really gotten out of hand :-/
