Week 9 Return For Demar Dotson — Maybe

September 6th, 2015

.

After right tackle Demar Doston wrenched his knee during the first preseason game 22 days ago, he was hopeful to be ready to play by October 1.

Now, the soonest Dotson will be seen in a Bucs uniform is Nov. 8 against the Giants.

The Bucs, per Rotoworld.com, placed Dotson on the “injured reserved/designated to return” list. Each team can choose one player for that declaration. That means Doston will return to the roster in Week 9, if he’s deemed healthy after two weeks of practice. Running back Charles Sims was in the same boat last year.

It should be clear by now that Gosder Cherilus will be the starting right tackle next Sunday. He’s getting paid well after being signed off the street before the Bucs’ third preseason game, and he has 100 games started under his belt.

Joe’s glad the Bucs are giving Dotson extra time to recover. He should be in great shape when he returns. Joe’s already seen Dotson walking around with no sign of injury.

    They need D-line help NOW!

By week 9 he might as well stay out for the season.

Wesley, this article isn’t about defense. Message boards are for random comments.

  4. Wesley Says:

BuccaneEric75 Says, seriously? Don’t be that “guy”.

This is a designation I thought would go to Akeem Spence….has he been placed on IR or waived?

  6. Lakeland Buc Says:

The Dallas Cowboys have waived DE Levar Edwards, 6’4 275, 3rd year player from LSU. He has a ton of upside, the 142 player drafted in the 2013 draft. The Cowboys waived him to make room for Christine Michael who they acquired from the Seahawks. This would be a good pickup for the Bucs, a good young, big 4-3 DE.

    I meant Lavar Edwards

This should come as no surprise. You aren’t going after a guy like Cherilus, paying him handsomely, and asking him to ride the pine. That being said…I cannot wait for our ‘D’ to destroy Mariota! Go Bucs!

  9. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Wesley, I’m sorry. What was I thinking.

  10. Lakeland Buc Says:

For all of you George Warhop haters ,he did an outstanding job of converting Matthew Masifilo from DT to OG.

  11. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Lakeland, maybe Warhop can convert him to a DE!?!

Meanwhile what’s the latest on the ankles? Donavan Smith’s and #3’s?

  13. Louis Friend Says:

Lakeland Buc. I don’t hate Warhop, I hate what he’s going to cause our QB to endure. He’s the worst in the NFL. And that’s saying something considering the state of OL’s these days. The man’s track record is a joke.

  14. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    @Lakeland Buc

No thank you. Lavar Edwards has been with 2 teams in 2 years for a reason.

Then again, it’s not like we have much else at the position.

    The ankles are fine.
