Mike Evans discussed the rookie learning curve he experienced

Yes, all right-minded Bucs fans have their eyes on “America’s Quarterback,” signal-caller Jameis Winston. For the fortunes of the Bucs in the next few years will be strongly tied to how well Jameis develops and performs.

History of rookie quarterbacks in the NFL suggest Jameis will have growing pains this year. Thus, not much is expected from Tampa Bay.

Mike Evans can sort of sympathize with Jameis. Despite showing significant flashes in underwear football last spring, The Bucs’ 2014 first-round pick admitted there was a learning curve for him, and it took a few weeks into the regular season for things to click, so Evans told pink polo panoply, prickly Pete Prisco of CBS Sports.

(Yes, Joe had to pull out a thesaurus for “panoply.”)

“Oh, it wasn’t as easy as it might have looked,” Evans said following the team’s second minicamp practice here. “By the third or fourth week, I was more comfortable, and that’s when it took off for me.”

Now mind you, Evans is a wide receiver, not the quarterback, not the guy who leads, guides and executes an entire offensive gameplan and philosophy.

If it took Evans a few weeks to get his feet wet, imagine what it must be like for any rookie quarterback, not just Jameis.

I fully expect with the football IQ, determination, and what every pro scout, head coach, analyst and pro pundit of the game, has had to say about jameises recall and what not, he will be way ahead of the curve, hell he already has had to be slowed down in ota’s and minicamp from calling audibles so the rest of the rookies didn’t get confused, yes they were not that advanced yet. this youngster is going to blow the league away. and might have the best rookie QB season ever. and I will not be surprised if we win the NFCS south this year. I said it I meant it, and I am here to represent it. GO BUCS- AND GET ER DONE JAMEIS!!!!!!!!!!

What was Lovie missing in Chicago all those years? A quality OC and a franchise QB. Jameis is all he is made out to be. Both Gruden and Koetter were impressed with his playbook expertise and worldly knowledge. His time is right now and with him Lovie, Llicht, Koetter and Warhop will follow, to the promised land. We bow down to the almighty AQB. Only he can walk on water and that is why his Disciples of Jameis in a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Jameis, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as he has welcomed us.
