Dirk Koetter talks tech

Veteran offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter isn’t scared of technology. And per FOX Sports, Koetter is insisting the Bucs purchase some ASAP to help Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback.

Good guy reporter Alex Marvez talked to Koetter and Jameis about scoring the virtual reality setup that Cowboys quarterbacks utilize.

The new technology allows a QB to experience various defenses while learning the playbook. It’s considered a tool that can greatly accelerate development. It’s also a blessing for backup QBs, especially once the regular season begins and their practice time is limited.

“What I tell vendors that come in to show us stuff is that we need it today,” Koetter said. “Some people tell us, ‘This will be ready in three months. I say, ‘No, Jameis needs this tomorrow.'”

The FOX story implies that customizing the technology could take several months from the time the Bucs purchased it.

Tampa Bay kicks off the preseason in 57 days at Minnesota.

    I THOUGHT JAMEIS WAS A PRO-READY QUARTER BACK ???????

  2. WyldKat Says:

This is how it’s SUPPOSED to look if your OL makes all their blocks.

  3. OB Says:

You have to improve all the time or the defenses will figure you out.

This is just like an aircraft simulator for pilots to experience adversity without the physical consequences plus going over what they did and what they should have done. It is called leaned to take on the unexpected.

  4. Ray Rice Says:

LMFAO. They are getting THE MESSIAH a new PS10 while Napoleon Dynamite is stuck on ATARI! DAM!

Did you miss the part where Romo is getting it too? If you wipe the bitterness out of your eyes, you might actually see some reality.

Wow, some incredibly dumb comments posted on here. Are you sure you guys are Buc fans? The cowboys use a VR system already. If it helps, in the development of Jameis then why not invest in your asset?

@ Ray Rice @Can’t Fix It, you guys are clueless, follow another team please.

I think you need to do your homework before you call someone clueless. If you’ve been on this site enough you would already know how I feel about THE MESSIAH! “Follow another team.” Ok Jboo. LMFAO #dumfuxthesedays

  13. TheShaz Says:

1st legitimate OC the Bucs have had since Chucky.

Problem with Chucky is he liked retreads, retreads sucked because they break all too often.

We not have a very young team and a OC with a proven record of getting a young QB productive.

You mean we wont have the typical Bucs Offense of RUN, RUN, PASS & PUNT – Rinse and Repeat?

2 months of nothing of NFL in the news and if it is, its usually BAD NEWS

    I second that.

This has nothing to do with whether Jameis is pro-ready and everything to do with feeding as much knowledge about defenses and game tape for a QB to be as prepared as possible. Please tell me you were just trolling for hate comments with that asinine statement.

  15. Supersam Says:

I thought Jameis was ready to come in day one with little to no help?? Hmmmm

  16. Buccfan37 Says:

I must be a little slow today. When I read the article I thought it was talking about purchasing a big beefy stud offensive lineman to help protect Winston. That would be some technology and reality for real.

Whoa!!! Wipe ur mouth in between lifting ur head out of Mariotta’s crotch before postin here.

  18. ufcguy Says:

Go follow the titans. You obviously love to hate jameis. Hes a great prospect and is putting in the work to be great. Give him a real chance . How would you fair if you used the same criticism to yourself.

  19. OAR Says:

Virtual Reality…pfft! I don’t want to sound like a bad a$$ or anything but I play the Wii without the strap on!

  20. Cannon Says:

What Koetter isn’t saying is that he really wants this VR system for p0rn.

  21. RustyRhinos Says:

OAR ” but I play the Wii without the strap on!”

    Thanks for the laugh.

  23. Buc1987 Says:

SillySam should just come right out and say it. Get it over with it already.

Just say it. It’s only 5 little words….

    “I want Winston to fail.”

In my best Sam Kinison impersonation : SAY IT, SAY IT, SAY IT!!!!

Look man some of y’all can continue using jbf as a means to spew your disdain for WINSton,Lovie Smith and this team. Understand,it’s been quite some time for any of to have optimistic hope for our beloved Buccaneers. With that being said please know they’re is a collection of us that will continue getting at yo a$$.

  26. Owlykat Says:

I come here to learn new info about our team from fellow Bucs’ Fanatics like myself, not to read about factions sniping at each other, and especially on Father’s Day Weekend! Come on Guys.
