“Interception Master” Emerges

June 11th, 2015

danny lansanah 1203Joe will deliver more details later, but today was a big day for the Bucs defense during the underwear football session at broiling One Buc Palace.

Danny Lansanah was all over the field flashing the quick hands that led to his three interceptions last year.

Joe learned from Lansanah’s running mate, new Bucs starting middle linebacker Bruce Carter, that No. 51 has been the takeaway star of OTA practices. Today was Day 10 of 10.

“Danny’s been our interception master all OTAs,” Carter said. “He’s a great player, you know, a guy that has a lot of experience on our team and a lot of leadership. I’m excited to play alongside of him.”

Carter is major athletic step up from Mason Foster last year, and Lavonte David and Lansanah should be playing faster in Year 2 of Lovie Smith’s system.

Yeah, it’s underwear football, but the Bucs linebackers looked nasty fast this afternoon.

And what about Mr. Alexander? Where does he fit in? No chance at starting?

[…] What a treat it would be for the Bucs to have the luxury of Alexander developing as talented backup without having to toss him into the fire immediately. That’s the way things seem be aligning with strongside linebacker Danny Lansanah tearing up underwear football sessions. […]

Speed kills baby and Lovie seems to be getting what he finally wants in this defense. Undersized a bit perhaps but incredibly quick and dynamic playmakers.

  7. P'cola Buc Says:

Obviously, the Alexander pick of this draft has put a fire under Lansanah and they both are excelling as a result of this competition. The upgrade of the defense’s performance should result in some interesting challenges for the opposition.
