“I Want To Play With A Competitor”

Bucs WR Louis Murphy spoke about "America's Quarterback" over the weekend and how he has rediscovered his love of football with the Bucs.

Louis Murphy spoke about “America’s Quarterback” and how he has rediscovered his love of football with the Bucs.

Yes, Joe knows you have heard Bucs types, whether it be Jason Licht or Lovie Smith, rave about “America’s Quarterback,” signal-caller Jameis Winston.

Well, now it’s time for Jameis’ teammates to speak out. And they are.

Add receiver Louis Murphy to the list of those singing hosannas about Jameis.

Over the weekend, Murphy did a spot with Ralph Vacchiano and Alex Marvez, co-hosting “The End Zone,” heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio. Murphy raved about Jameis as a teammate and said his competitive nature is contagious in the locker room, more so than the MRSA.

“I saw how much of a competitor [Jameis was in college] and I want to play with a competitor,” Murphy said. “He competes. He really dislikes losing. He loves to win. That’s a type of player you want to play with. Kind of similar to Tim Tebow: whatever it takes to win.”

Murphy said how Jameis put his Seminoles on his back while dealing with massive and repeated distractions — and racked up wins — spoke volumes.

“I think that says a lot about a man,” Murphy said.

Murphy also detailed how he had lost interest in football, which showed on the field, but his love of the game has been rekindled. To hear the clip, click on the arrow below.

How does any marginal player lose their “love of football?”
They should wake up each morning and be thankful for…

    Who cares???

    GO BOLTS!

While this is nice to hear about Jameis, not sure this is a great thing to put out in public if you are player that can be replaced.

    Louis Murphy…..”America’s Marginal WR”

The whole team lost their love for football last season as well as some fans, well at least this fan.

What if the Bucs have hit gold? What if? Dreaming is fun.

if my career after being a college champion consisted of those raiders and these bucs, it would shake my faith in my love for the game for sure. these guys are human beings, and there are some miserable workplaces in the NFL each and every year. even if you’re doing what you love, doing so in a poor environment will make you less passionate and probably less effective at what you do. hopefully the days of being that type of workplace are behind the bucs

Yes it is good to be playing with a competitor like Jameis Winston who loves to win irregardless to what happen off the field in the past. I am looking forward to seeing some of the bucs games just to watch him play so for all you that criticize and ridicule Jameis Winston needs to look in the mirror and sweep around your own front door. “SO ROCK ON ” Jameis Winston and put the Buccaneers on the winning streak like you did with my Florida State Seminoles and may God bless you and your family……. ” TONKA TOY “

The Bucs are starting to see the many crucial, yet rarely discussed talents that Winston brings to the table. Sure he IS a big, strong kid with a special arm, but that’s not the half of it. His intangibles are off the charts. With him in the huddle, you don’t think you might win, you KNOW you’re going to win. Won’t be surprised if everyone on that team starts playing better this year.

I don’t think it really matters what Murphy or any Bucs WR says right now. Let’s see who gets the ball tossed their direction? I think Bell may be the surprise not Murphy, although I like Murphy and he gives us excellent depth.
