“Two Of Them!”

Newly drafted Bucs QB Jameis Winston could not contain his glee when discussing throwing to Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson.
Joe doesn’t begin to suggest he knows Jameis Winston. Joe has met the guy twice, but not in a private setting.
Hell, Joe doesn’t even know if Winston is aware JoeBucsFan.com exists.
That stated, Joe got to experience Winston’s famed, positive, over-the-top, intoxicating personality tonight in a conference call with the Tampa Bay pen and mic club. At one point, Winston’s personality boomed through the speakerphone like a tidal wave.
Winston didn’t sound any different than any other Bucs player drafted in the past year or two when he was answering mundane questions. Then a question about Bucs receivers lit the fuse.
Winston was asked about how he once had a 6-5 receiver at Florida State in Kelvin Benjamin (who now plays for the Stinking Panthers) and how he was joining a team that had two such receivers. Winston erupted like a bottle rocket.
“The TWO, MAN!,” Winston screamed in exultation, referring to Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans. “TWO OF THEM! Oh my GOSH! Two 6-5 guys that can make plays after the ball!. MY FRIEND! Anyone can go out there and throw to those guys, man!”
Well, anyone but turnover-prone Josh McCown, that is. But Joe is digressing.
“[That is] definitely a blessing but I am looking forward to working with the other weapons as well with Louis Murphy and even Doug Martin,” Winston said. “Just learning my offensive line and you know, get in there and work with everybody. It is going to be a great journey and it all starts with hard work and dedication and sacrifices.”
Winston sounded like he wanted to snap on a helmet right now and play the Packers before Bucs fans partying at Raymond James Stadium.
Joe will have audio later, but when/if you listen to it, if that doesn’t get you fired up for football, then Joe suspects you don’t have a pulse.

I feel like we finally got a surperior competitor at the most important position on the field.
He’s skilled and pro ready but this guy COMPETES!

Thats the one last thing that sold me on Winston. He WANTED to come here and play! Now to get him some protection on that O line….but dont be surprised if we go D since Collins and Gregory are still available (tenn will probably take Gregory though).
Since Lael Collins wont speak to the police until after the draft, that just smells bad to me. Knowing that now, I wouldnt risk a 2nd-5th on him.
