Ducks Coach Expects Mariota To Titans

Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said today he does not expect the Bucs to select QB Marcus Mariota.

It seems college coaches know more than their NFL counterparts these days.

Last night, Florida State assistant Tim Brewster Twittered he was coming to Tampa tonight to celebrate Jameis Winston’s selection by the Bucs.

Now it is an Oregon coach who expects his quarterback to go No. 2. Mark Helfrich, the head Duck at Oregon, apparently told BSPN this afternoon he would be floored if the Bucs called his name of his signal-caller, Marcus Mariota.

Jameis deniers, Joe will try to calm you down. Just square yourself with the fact the Bucs are getting the best quarterback for an NFL system, and sweet victories will follow.

Just cuz he said he would be surprised, don’t mean it won’t happen. Mariota is our quarterback wait and see.

    Draft MARIOTA please.

PFT reporting that the Eagles may be trying to work a deal with the Bucs for the #1 pick. Supposedly the deal would include players and future draft picks….interesting!

  8. JMan Says:

    For shame

  9. bucrightoff Says:

If the Eagles offer is what has been stated, the Bucs would be mighty foolish to turn it down. If they can trade some of the additional picks for even more picks, we could be talking 7-10 starters for 1 pick. How do you say no to that? You wanna rebuild a team, that’s how you do it.

  10. simeon 97 Says:

Joe is so into “splash” (hate this stupid analyst lingo) moves. You would think he would get a take of the ticket sales at RayJ.

A number of picks from the Eagles is way better than this gamble.

I read the eagle rumor on profootballtalk.com
chip Kelley has a real man crush on marcus mariota. I bet the bucs would want his best o-linemen and a d-end in addition to 1st round pick for this year and next year. it could be an interesting evening indeed!

  12. Gator N Bucs Says:

I am coach of my son’s Little League team and I GUARANTEE that practice will be over by 5:30 Mountain time as the Draft starts at 6:00. This is a yr that I am not nervous about the draft because barring drafting anything other than QB, OL, Pass Rusher Isn’t possible even for Lovie.

  13. Gator N Bucs Says:

Off to practice now. GO BUCS

  14. ATrain Says:

Wait Eagles are trading up for Mariota…
Bucs are trading down. Chip gets what he wants..

  15. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

Guys I’ve been banging the trade down (or Leonard Williams if they can’t) drum as hard as anyone here, but I think it’s time we move to the acceptance phase of things. Don’t get me wrong I’ll finish the bottle of Jack in celebration if they get a king’s ransom of picks for the #1, but I’m ready to move on, cross my fingers, and support the pick. It’ll be Lovie and Licht’s jobs if this backfires as bad as I think it will with Jameis.

I think chip Kelly is worried the bucs might take his man crush marcus mariota. he really has tried to disguise his wanting this guy in interviews on espn and nfl network on tv.
chip might destroy the eagles to get mariota. he has complete control of the decision making. I remember when mike Ditka was the coach of the saints. he traded his entire draft all picks all rounds to get running back ricky Williams.

    @PortRicheyGeorge
Just got off the phone with the owner of Skippers Smokehouse. I was an oyster shucker there when they bought the place. He has confirmed Winston will get free crab legs, but only as long as he is a Buc.

LITERALLY hanging on til the 11th hour. You are consistent, if nothing.

Don’t worry, we’ll welcome you back when the winning starts.

    Smokescreen.

If the Titans are “driving a hard bargain to get to #2” as the article states, what makes you think the Bucs wouldn’t drive a harder bargain for them to get to #1.

  19. CocoaBchBuc Says:

And before all the Winston haters jump in with their condemnation…check out the company and all the great things they do for the community. Btw…anyone in North Tampa not going to the Joe’s party you should check out what they are offering.
