Yes, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota wasn’t damaged talking to Joe last night, as he was still able to make his scheduled trip to One Buc Palace today for a day full of meetings with Bucs brass.

And, yes, it seems Buccaneers.com is giving Mariota close to equal time, compared to the pimping it gave Jameis Winston’s arrival earlier this month. Below are two more pictures of Mariota’s visit. For more photos, visit this page at Buccaneers.com.

  1. Lev in Philly Says:

    Seems like a good back up pick in case Jameis sh*ts the bed in the next couple of weeks.

  2. RCH Says:

    Wonder if he gets a Bucs insider with Scott Smith and what players are there to greet him!?

  3. Bucs#1 Says:

    The Bucs get to see what REAL class looks like today, what the “Face” of a franchise is suppose to look like, not the “A$$”

  4. Buc1987 Says:

    Ooooooooooooooh

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  5. Ray Rice Says:

    Ray, I was thinking the same thing. HA!

    Licht reminds me of a real life Barney Rubble.

  9. Luther Says:

    People here actually want the second best QB.

  10. MariotaOrWinstonOrWalkdaPlank Says:

    Lmao children.

  11. Erik with CleanAthletics.com Says:

    I agree with Bucs #1. Mariota represents class, Winston represents a$$.

  12. tmaxcon Says:

    I just don’t see the same glow on Licht’s face that head had with Winston. He looks happy today but he looked like a proud new papa hanging with Jameis.

    Welcome to Tampa Jameis.

  13. Erik with CleanAthletics.com Says:

    Luther, that’s what I think about the #WinstonWhackos.

  14. The Real Malloy Says:

    Please Football Gods….Bring us the Mariota!

  15. Broy34WontArgueWithStupidity Says:

    Couldnt agree more. It’s almost as if they’re hosting this visit to lure Tennessee to trade up for Mariota if they want him in case Tampa takes him to grab a pick to move to two or something. Idk just feels like a routine visit compared to Winston who felt like he had a presidential motorcade. 3 day visit in early March compared to a one day visit two weeks later. I mean why are we even talking to this. Adam Schefter himself said no team in NFL history has shown such telling interest on who they want to take with the 1st pick. THE COLTS DIDNT DO THAT FOR LUCK!

  16. Pickgrin Says:

    Its a nice place to visit but Marcus will not be living here.

  17. Jeagan1999 Says:

    I’m sure that Dirk Koetter, our new OC…who has strong ties to Mariota’s HC at Oregon…is all smiles today thinking about what they will be able to do with Mariota at the helm of the Bucs offense in 2015 and beyond! Mariota slinging the ball to V-Jax, Evans and ASJ, or tucking the ball in and scramblingfor TD’s will put a huge grin on his face! You gotta believe too that a young guy from Hawaii would feel perfectly comfortable being around the water, beaches and the warm weather in the bay area! Welcome to Tampa, Marcus….hope you’re here permanantly come April 30!!

  18. Couch Fan Says:

    I hope Marcus is enjoying his tour of Jameis’s new training faciility and city. Wonder if Lichy showed him, Jameis’s locker. That might be rubbing it in a little to much. Enjoy NY Marcus.

  19. Couch Fan Says:

  20. Tampabaybucsfan Says:

    @tmaxcon

    That was gas….not a glow from Licht during Winston visit

  21. Buccfan37 Says:

    There is something very likeable about Mariota. His demeanor, the way he carries himself.

  22. Buc1987 Says:

    27 out of 28 mocks have the Bucs taking Winston. Yet the MM mob has more info then them and if they say it’s going to be Mariota, it must be true.

    Afterall they know more than the NFL insiders do!

  23. WS99 Says:

    Tmax

    My thoughts exactly. And as for the class vs a$$ comparison. At least the “thigger” had the good sense to put on some new close and not have a shirt hanging out untucked. I know it’s all about the grundge look in Oregon but good lawd man it’s a job interview. I think it’s painfully obvious this kid is trying to make his stock drop to #20 if possible.

  24. Jeagan1999 Says:

    From the photos on the Bucs website, it looks like a Mariota video with Scott Smith will soon follow! Can’t wait to see it!

  25. Jacko101 Says:

    @Ray thats hilarious lol. Draft Marcus

  26. the real Buck Bruce Says:

    @87, the Barney Rubble comment was so hilarious.sorry but you’re looking at the guy we’re going to draft in Marcus Mariota.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

    WS99 Says:

    “I think it’s painfully obvious this kid is trying to make his stock drop to #20 if possible.”

    I’m leaning that way too lately. He certainly is saying and doing the right things for it to happen. If it’s not intentional then he’s got a real problem.

    Is he EVER going to come out and say he’d love to play for the Bucs like he did for the Jets and Eagles? I doubt it.

  28. blackmagic00 Says:

    Either way they go it could be great or all bad. This place has been a house of horror since the departure of gruden. All that matters is once the pick is made everyone except it and we get back to being proud of this team. Go bucs!

  29. Jacko101 Says:

    Bucs 1987 27 -28 mocks Huh? How many mocks had Emanual going before Geno? And who had the Bills taking him? Ill wait ……

  30. Buc Neckid Says:

    Still trying to figure out
    Why is 29 out of 30 mocks is even relevant to reality?

  31. Buc1987 Says:

    Marcus Mariota : “I’d love to play for the Jets”

    Jameis Winston : “I think it would be a privilege to play in Tampa, period, with the Florida State fan base and everything I have been involved with in the state of Florida. Coach Smith speaking highly of me, that already lets me know I’m a part of their program,” Winston said. “I already have a trust factor in with him, and now all I have to do is accept his trust and gain his trust to help him out.”

  32. Buc Neckid Says:

    *or 27 out of 28

  33. BucsFan007 Says:

    Either way we’ll get the Heisman Curse …….. cause we’re the Bucs !

  34. Buc1987 Says:

    Lovie has 1 to 2 years tops….That’s about how long Mariota will be sitting on the bench for if he’s taken by the Bucs.

    Winston starts day 1.

  35. Jacko101 Says:

    Just so you know he said he would love to play for the Bucs, he also said he wants to play for the team that drafts him. You will here that today on video.

  36. Underdog Says:

    Everybody has to remember that we have no idea of what Dirk Koetter’s new offense is going to look like. Bucs will decide which QB is the better fit for it

  37. the real Buck Bruce Says:

    after learning the Browns were willing to give up a first round pick for Sam Bradford and they hold the number 12 and 19th overall pick in the draft I’m thinking they might just try to trade with the bucs.they will give us both of their first round this year and a first and second and fourth next year.

  38. Chef Paul Says:

    Mariota is so similar to JF5, If Licht was around when JF5 was, Mariota would already be back in Eugene. You know, the place that makes him nervous (according to his amateur day interview), just like every other thing he does.

  39. Buc1987 Says:

    Buc Neckid …BECAUSE…the 27 insiders and analysts are all on the same page and they won’t get the number 1 pick wrong….it very rarely happens.

    They may get the number 3, 4, 5 or so on pick wrong, but not the first.

    It’s time for you people to come to grips with it.

  40. Bucsfan4lyf Says:

    Marcus Mariota- 105 Passing TD’s, 14 Interceptions, 29 Rushing TD’s
    Jameis Winston- 65 Passing TD’s, 28 Interceptions, 7 Rushing TD’s

    Who’s the better QB?

    #MariotaorBUST

  41. iamkingsu Says:

    All this going through the motions crap is killing me because its giving the mariota gang a leg to stand on smh. So we have to go thru another couple of weeks to a month (until jameis signs his contract) of them even mentioning this bum as an option.

  42. Couch Fan Says:

    @Chef Paul

    Their personality is exactly the same. And from what I’ve seen there arm is exactly the same to except Marcus has a much weaker arm but just as inaccurate. Mariota sure can run fast though.

  43. chris Says:

    Kind of funny though. On the Buccaneers website, ” most executives prefer Mariotta”, ” busting the Mariotta myth:, “Mariotta can play right away “.

  44. Brilliant Says:

    Your BRILLIANT Buc1987, mock drafts are FAKE!! Its someone’s opinion!!

  45. budnbeers Says:

    44 more days dealing with this BS.

  46. Buc1987 Says:

    Brilliant…when have all of them gotten the first pick wrong?

  47. Phillip Says:

    @Buc1987

    What happened the year Reggie Bush was supposed to go first overall to the Texans and all the mocks had it that way?? Oh that’s right it was Mario Williams.. Love that you believe mock drafts are the reason Winston is coming to Tampa.. Oh and because the Glazers need to sell stadium tickets when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

    For someone who comments on every article numerous times you have maybe spoken 10 times anything credible and worthwhile.. Hell you used to have MariotaOrWinston in your name and back-pedaled off Mariota because all of the sudden you don’t like spread option QB’s… But you supposedly never liked them..

    You would seriously back Winston even if he was convicted of raping that girl.. Along with a few others and I truly believe that which is sad..

  48. bucrightoff Says:

    If Winston (or Mariota) starts day 1, they will bust. Any QB drafted ever would bust behind that piece of crap line that by the way hasn’t gotten better and simply through aging has gotten worse. 87 wants to draft Winston, then sentence him to David Carr. So you don’t want him to succeed? Interesting….

  49. Phillip Says:

    I’m sure some FSU fan will come on here and say you will probably not back if Winston if he cleared 5 more times… I personally don’t care if he was cleared 1000 times as I have already made my decision on him as a football player on here numerous times (a poor man’s version of Big Ben).. I care about his off the field incidents (7 currently), but they aren’t as glaring as his on field performance is.. I’d rather take the kid with more upside(Mariota a poor man’s Russell Wilson) or trade down and get a slew of picks and grab Hundley later.

    Bucs 1987 27 -28 mocks Huh? How many mocks had Emanual going before Geno? And who had the Bills taking him? Ill wait ……

    While i will agree that i don’t put too much stop in mock drafts I will as you this:

    When was the last time a reputable mock draft got the first pick wrong? If nothing else, a majority of mock drafts will at least get the first pick correct. Anything after that is usually just a guessing game.

  51. Chef Paul Says:

    Couch,

    And when we look back, what was Freeman’s undoing? Running? No he could run. No zip on the ball? No he could sling it.

    It was he personality, attitude, and psyche. Everyone got sick of the deer in the headlights look then going to podium after the game saying um and uh.

    Ya, sign me up for some more of that!!

  52. jimmy53 Says:

    Why would anyone want to draft the second best QB. This isn’t even close–his accuracy folds under the least bit of pressure. Any team that drafts him will be committing to changing their entire offensive scheme–to one that has only shown minimal success in Philly.

    No thanks.

    Got it now?

  55. tmaxcon Says:

    So what you are saying is Pablo made Winston lunch that day in a failed sabotage attempt. That’s low sir. LOL

  56. iamkingsu Says:

    We don’t have to wait the full 44 days. Winston will be signed before then

  57. Curtis Gatorboy Says:

    I TOLD YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUCS DONT WANT JAMEIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MARIOTTA IS AT ONE BUC PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS OVER FOR U WINSTON JOCK EATERS!!!!!!!!! hahahahahah!

  58. Buc1987 Says:

    Celly…the mocks are just common sense. They NEVER get the first pick wrong especially when you have a consensus of them saying it’s going to be a certain player.

    Everyone knew the Colts were taking Luck, because all the mocks said so.

    Once again they rarely get the first pick wrong.

    Why is it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard for people to understand this?

    To dug in?

    Refuse to believe?

    I don’t know anymore.

  59. Phillip Says:

    @Celly

    The year Eric Fisher went first overall over the kid in Jax (name is escaping me at the moment) was also another year where everyone had it the other way until the day of the draft when it got leaked who the Chiefs were gonna take.. It happens more than anyone thinks.. I also posted earlier about Mario Williams and Reggie Bush..

    “@budnbeers

    We don’t have to wait the full 44 days. Winston will be signed before then.”

    Yep and I expect that to come out about a week to 2 weeks before the draft.

    I’m of course a Winston guy as everyone knows. If 30 mocks were out there saying the pick was going to be Mariota, I wonder how many Mariota fans would cite the mocks. I imagine all of them.

  61. Brilliant Says:

    Thank you, Phillip..I love all the FSU GM’s that think they know everything!!

  62. Buc1987 Says:

    Curtis Gatorboy….I’m going to One Buc tomorrow, does that mean the Bucs want me?

  63. the real Buck Bruce Says:

    the Buccaneers never knew who they were going to draft until today after talking with Marcus Mariota I’m sure they’ll fall in love from his football IQ to the way his demeanor is second to none.6.tampaaaaaa can I get a Bay Bay Bay Bay

  64. Couch Fan Says:

    We don’t have to wait the full 44 days. Winston will be signed before then.”

    ——————————————–

    This BF47 we disagree on. Lovie is a very secretive person along with the NFL’s lately wanting to keep draft picks as secretive as possible to build up the suspense will mean we wont hear jameis will be the pick until they announce it on draft now.

  65. Couch Fan Says:

    draft night*

  66. Buc1987 Says:

    Brilliant….you hold out hope all you want. It’s your prerogative.

    I’ll leave you guys alone for awhile or atleast try to.

  67. Erik with CleanAthletics.com Says:

    Lol. You Winston guys are hilarious.

    Winston’s a better QB than Mariota?

    That is insane.

    Espn has Winston ranked 29th in passing efficiency and 18th in total QBR.

    Mariota is ranked #1 on both lists.

  68. HarlemBuc Says:

    Sooooooooo new to posting…. After watching both QB’s you guys just want the safe “white boy”? This is why Tampa bay as an area can’t move forward

  69. bucrightoff Says:

    And if he does 87, he will bust. No QB ever succeeds behind that piece of crap line. If Aaron Rodgers couldn’t (and we all agree he couldn’t), no one can. This is why Lovie being the coach sucks, he will destroy the QB to save himself. Should have fired him when they had the chance.

  70. iamkingsu Says:

    @budnbeers

    I take that back if he is signed then I think he has to show up as the number 1 overall pick. So we might have to wait out the full 44 days smh

  71. Buc1987 Says:

    Couch Fan…I don’t see it that way. I think they will need to get a jump on PR with Winston, instead of shocking all the anti-Winston Buc fans on draft day.

    Give SOME people a little bit of time to digest that he’s the pick, seeing how all the off-the field crap bothers a certain group of Buc fans.

  72. Buc1987 Says:

    Erik…how many Oregon games have you watched?

  73. the real Buck Bruce Says:

    @Harlem buc, he’s not a white boy he’s from Hawaii.

  74. iamkingsu Says:

    @couch fan

    That 44 days and signing him was and signing him was my comment

  75. Couch Fan Says:

    Yea I just seen that IamKingsu. Either way, I personally cant see Lovie giving away the pick before the draft. At least not according to anything he’s done since he’s been here. He’s very secretive.

    I can understand why you would think it would be a smart PR move but I dont see it changing the minds of a lot of these people. They will continue to hate regardless of what anyone says or does.

  76. Jeagan1999 Says:

    HarlemBuc….Mariota is not “white”, he is a pacific islander by heritage. In fact….you have to go all the way back to 1994…Trent Dilfer….to find a Bucs first round pick that WAS white!

    I’d call you a racist, but obviously youre not even smart enough to understand the term. Go crawl back under your rock!

  77. iamkingsu Says:

    @erik

    That was college We’re are projecting here. These are where all the throws winston was asked to make consistently comes in. All the analysts are not dissing mariota its just was a different style of play the mariota played in. If the number 1 overall pick belonged to chip kelly only then Mariota goes number 1. But for the other 31 franchise its not even fuggin close who you pick

  78. iamkingsu Says:

    @couchfan

    Im going to paraphrase what I said on an earlier thread. He met with the bucs at an unprecedented time, then he went straight to the league office and met the commish?? ( unprecedented), now he’s going to stay home (unprecedented). They know the documentary was out. Its PR!

  79. Bucsfan4lyf Says:

    Your argument is flawed.

  83. Jack Says:

    The Dungys love this guy.

  84. Boucanier Says:

    Over time I think Mariota will be the way better option. Jameis, while probably being able to start right away will most likely be washed from the league due to Antics/Knuckleheadness IMO

    and @Harlem buc PLEASE don’t play the race card. The real world has already been toxicated by it we don”t need in sports. If NFL fans were racists they would follow hockey. Not to mention Mariota is HAWAIN!

  85. iamkingsu Says:

    @celly

    They’re in the NFL is what I’m saying. I never agreed with Ponder going 1st Round EJ either. Jameis is different from those guys he took what he had around him and brought the noles back! Its a clear difference between those 3 in talent and intangibles

  86. Jacko101 Says:

    Tony Dungy came to one buc to see Macus today also. That was awesome

  87. Celly Says:

    @iamkingsu,

    That comment was directed at Bucsfan5lyf

  88. Jacko101 Says:

    I won’t say who’s the Better QB, because of the things they were asked to do, however I will say Macus executed his style better than Winston.

  89. iamkingsu Says:

    @celly

    And before him no one threw more than 9 picks in a year in that offense. Ok lets go to jeremiah masoli (spell check) what happened when he got to Ole Miss?? I’ll wait. Thats not even the NFL and he couldn’t even function there

  90. Another J Says:

    Knowing dam well Licht’s fat a$$$$ is not using the elliptical machine in the picture…You beat me to it!

  91. iamkingsu Says:

    @celly

    My bad bro.

    @bucs4lyf
    THose comments are directed at you now

  92. Jeagan1999 Says:

    HarlemBuc….I have no idea what you mean by “safe”. Do you mean safe on the field or off it? Off the field Mariota is safe because he has never gotten into any type of trouble that would be concerning to an NFL executive. Winston has gotten into some trouble off the field….my guess is most of it was just immaturity…but I’m not a psycologist. So which is safe?

    On the field Mariota’s stats look like this….66.8% comp., 10,800 yds passing, 105 passing TD’s, 29 TDs rushing (134 total TDs) and only 14 INTs in nearly 1,200 passing attempts….( 1 INT per every 83 pass attempts)

    Winston looks like this….66% comp., 8,000 yds passing, 65 TDs passing, 7 TDs rushing (72 total TDs) and 28 INTs in 851 attempts…(1 INT per every 30 attempts)

    So if you feel that Mariota is too “safe”…I’d say I’ll take that kind of “safe” any day of the week!

  93. Jack Says:

    Daft Day, the movie.

  94. iamkingsu Says:

    Jack 101

    Says who Winston did play 2 years ya know?? Everyone that plays qb executes Oregon’s system terrifically. The plays and checks are made by the sideline being held up on Posters for all things

  95. Celly Says:

    @Jeagan…

    Not going to argue with your stats, cause they are what they are…

    What i will ask you, though, is why do the MM supports always seems to forget or neglect his high sack and fumble numbers? Do those not matter?

  96. Phillip Says:

    Love when people are actually proven wrong and totally neglect to mention it and act like they didn’t read it… Keep posting about JW5 fan boy

  97. iamkingsu Says:

    @jeagan

    Now give me overall games loss and national championships?? Lol You play to win the game hello

  98. Bucco brice Says:

    Father dungy there? Not for Winston? Sure sign. Welcome to Tampa Marcus 🙂

  99. Legarrettes Blunt Says:

    Have you guys seen the pictures on Buccaneers.com? Mariota looks like a scared little school boy. The way he walks around hunched over with his hands in his pockets at all times shows no confidence. How is this guy supposed to be the leader of grown men? Winston>Mariota

  100. Celly Says:

    @Phillip…

    I’m going to guess that last comment was directed at me.

    The reason i didn’t completely address you is because you just put out information without anything to back you up. So i did your job for you.

    2013:

    Both Walterfootball.com and NFL.com have Eric Fisher mocked #1.

    (BTW…the kid who’s name is escaping you is Dion Jordon…you could’ve easily looked it up to help backup your argument, but you chose not to…If you’re not going to put effort into your argument, why should I rebute you?)

    2006:

    This one was harder to find since it was so long ago, but again Walterfootball.com has Mario Williams mocked at #1.

    ESPN had Bush mocked first. As did USA Today.

    So congratulations. Looks like you were right on one occasion in the past 10 years.

    I guess that would be considered me being proven wrong, right?

    (not sure if Joe will keep this links active. sure do wish he would just activate [target=”_blank”] for links posted in comments, though.)

  101. Luther Says:

    Yes Dungy the qb guru. If Lovie pays attention to Dungy for this pick, he deserves to be fired. Just because his kid played with him doesn’t mean squat.

  102. WS99 Says:

    Harlembuc

    Let me translate for you since you prob don’t speak country boy. The answer to your question is yes. For the last 4 months all the Mariota crew has been saying his that they’re scared to draft Jameis bc of his off field issues and interceptions thrown.

  105. Jacko101 Says:

    @iamking this is football, you are only as good as your last season. And idk if you’ve heard but numbers don’t lie. Yes Oregons offense was easier, but he still mastered it better than Winston did his. Just the facts

  106. Jacko101 Says:

    Buc1987 you’re wrong both Tony and Eric are at one Buc today lol. The picture just shows Eric

  107. Jacko101 Says:

    Go to Buccaneers.com

  108. Buc1987 Says:

    I stand corrected. I guess you have to read the whole article to find out that Tony was in the building at the end of the article.

  109. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Celly….Mariota does need to improve on the sacks and fumbles. No question. And I think he will. I don’t think any of the Mariota crowd claim that he is a finished product yet. Just like Winston also has things he needs to work on in the NFL….INTs, decision making, trying to force the ball sometimes. I think BOTH these young guys will be above average QBs in time. But I think Mariota’s athleticism and decision making make him the better bet for this team. I also feel it may be better for Jameis to begin his pro career someplace other than Florida….where he can compete away from all the high expectations the FSU fans in Tampa will have for him. Just my opinion.

  110. lurker Says:

    Iamkingsu….of course you play the game to win….kind of a silly statement! Both Winston and Mariota are winners and have racked up amazing records in college. Winston lost 1 game in 2 years as a starter….Mariota lost only 4 in 3 years. Both were recognized with the Heisman Trophy as the best player in football! But let’s also not forget that football is a team sport…one player cannot do it all himself!

    Personally, I think Mariota’s athleticism, intelligence and decision making make him a perfect guy to build around in Tampa….especially with out very shaky offensive line. Winston is a very talented player too….but I think it would be in his best interest to start his career a little further away from Tallahassee and the legions of FSU fans who have such high expectations of him.

    You are not correct lol

  113. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Lurker….I’ll be happy to take a look, but I’ve watched a lot of both these guys and I don’t know that there’s much more I could see that would change my mind. I’ll only say, what I’ve said for a while now….I’ll support whomever the BUCS choose. I think both these guys will be good in the NFL! I just think Mariota is the better fit here.

  114. Buc1987 Says:

    I’ll support Mariota if the Bucs draft him, but like I said before they better have a plan in place for him.

    Unless they plan on bringing in those flash cards he had on the Oregon sidelines and running a no huddle to catch defenses off balance and pump up his stats.

    Let’s just put this the consensus is always right and they never get the #1 pick wrong bs to bed. It was not that long ago that the consensus had Reggie Bush as the no doubt about it number one overall pick! But the consensus never gets the #1 pick wrong.

  116. Phillip Says:

    @Celly

    That’s not who the Jags drafted so I wasn’t talking about him if you did your research smart@$$.. It was Luke Joeckel.. Idc if ONE mock draft had Mario Williams going first.. The consensus was Reggie… Which is the point.. Btw knowing that stuff off the top of my head without having to do the research just shows that even without research there have been instances where all the consensus mock drafts are WRONG..

    PS.. It wasn’t directed at you either so your smart@$$ assumption was wrong as well.. Congrats

    Okay there’s one…get researching. Find more we need more than one.

    If you paid attention when someone directs a comment at you 87 then you would notice there have been two.. That was just off the top of my head as well..

  119. Buc1987 Says:

    Phillip…I’m scrolling up, but I can’t find it anywhere where someone directed at comment at me about the mocks and how many times ALLLLLLLLLLLLL the mocks were wrong.

  120. Buc1987 Says:

    Okay now I found it….thanks for that one time.

  121. Phillip Says:

    Tip use Ctrl F then type Phillip… That’s not meant to be rude just being honest. I was rude in my previous posts 🙂
