Gerald McCoy Tweets “Stay Tuned!!”

March 18th, 2015

gerald mccoy 0416You can read Gerald McCoy’s enthusiastic and cryptic Tweet here.

Joe’s assuming it is connected to the Buccaneers’ courting of bad boy defensive end Greg Hardy. Or, knowing McCoy, it could be the upcoming release of a new comic book. Joe would wager on the former.

  8. MANTHONY Says:

ProFootball talk just said we have lost interest in hardy

Per source, Bucs have lost interest in DE Greg Hardy. So unless someone else gets involved, he’ll apparently be a Cowboy.

    smh

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

OK, give me the bad news first, will he or won’t he become a Buc? I’ll be waiting to read it right here. Hurry up and wait. Jerry is working his double whammy no doubt.

  10. MadMax Says:

The deal with Dallas wouldve been done by now if it were really a “physical”. This is battle in the trenches “Agent style” lol. Im seeing right through it.

    Welcome to Tampa Kracken!!!!!!!!

what in the world is going on in Tampa? LoL

  12. bucrightoff Says:

Is Tampa trying to reverse leverage Rosenhaus now with the “Not interested” now? Bizarre.

Sign and trades are a NBA creation to leverage the Bird rules of allowing your current team to pay more than anyone else. The NFL doesn’t operate that way and we could just offer more $$$ to Hardy.

  14. MadMax Says:

“Kraken”… I apologize for the misspelling.

  15. Sam Says:

    Just updated from Gerald…..:

If you’re looking for news. Hold your horses. No news. Relax relax relax

  16. bucrightoff Says:

It’s ok MadMax, he’s 100% a Cowboy now so you can spell it wrong as often as you;d like.

  17. Bruno Says:

    ^yup

Is Michael Bennett still on the market? Or maybe…?

  18. Horice Says:

I’m BAFFLED that we would OVERPAY M. Johnson who wasn’t a proven pass rusher, but not beat Dallas to the bank to overpay for a premium pass rusher. L&L would be the dumbest duo in Bucs history if this deal goes south.

  19. feelthepewterpower Says:

Ok, so…Stay Tune, now there is no news from Gerald….I guess he’s awaiting Kraken’s decision like everyone else, and sounds like the the Buccs are out for now.

  20. DallasBuc Says:

…the excitement is definitely about the new comic book!

  21. Bruno Says:

Sorry, Bruno. Tiny percentage of Joe’s 20,000 daily readers have issues. –Joe

  22. MadMax Says:

“If you’re looking for news. Hold your horses. No news. Relax relax relax.”

Sorry Brother, NOT relaxing so much…..WE NEED HIM!!! 🙂

  23. NJBucsFan Says:

Did Lovie fall asleep in the basement again? Is that why we “lost interest”

  24. DallasBuc Says:

Horice- you are baffled? Lovie Smith is so clearly the most incompetent HC in all of football and is now proving his incompetence at GM with my beloved Buccaneers. Only thing that is baffling is how the owners are allowing this guy in the building any longer.

  25. Nick2 Says:

LOST INTEREST?????????? Yeah we dont’ need a pass rush why should we be interested in that. The only explanation I will be able to swallow is that Hardy never wanted to come here and just used us as leverage to get the best deal possible with the Cowboys. We have over $20 million in cap money and Dallas has $7 million. So we screw up Free Agency last year SOOOOOOO BAD that we are now wimps in the free agency market. You pay Hardy what you have to because he has 16 sacks in the last 16 GAMES!!!!!!!!!!

  26. NJBucsFan Says:

Dallas I’m right there with you. This has been a concern of mine since day 1. Decent DC but not HC material.

  27. AllIwantiswins Says:

No way he comes here. No one worth any money wants to play in Tampa.

  28. bucrightoff Says:

“Lost interest” = Never had much interest to begin with. Only national people, being fed info from Rosenhaus, said the Bucs were interested. Not a single local reporter had anything about their interest other than to confirm Schefter tweets.

Rosenhaus did his job yet again, got a little extra cash making a fake market that didn’t exist. In the end the Cowboys were bidding against themselves. Rosenhaus is an amazing agent in his ability to negotiate through the media.

  29. DallasBuc Says:

Joe- once we officially are not the team that signs Greg Hardy will you be doing another Lovie Smith approval poll?
Would be interesting to all who you claim read this site no doubt

  30. cmurda Says:

PFT’s Mike Florio reports the Bucs have “lost interest” in free agent DE Greg Hardy

You can count Hardy out per Florio. I suspect the Bucs were tired of the “raise the stakes” games by Drew Sauerkraut.

  31. MANTHONY Says:

Rick Stroud ‏@NFLSTROUD 45s46 seconds ago

Confirmed: The Bucs no longer are considering DE Greg Hardy as a possible free agent acquisition. Decision was NOT contract related.

  32. BucIt941 Says:

Maybe it’s about AP? who knows in the business we call the NFL

  33. Nick2 Says:

Just a thought, when was the last time the Bucs won a bidding war on ANY GOOD PLAYER????? Not that I can remember. This morning I talked myself out of getting excited because I knew we wouldn’t ante up and sure enough the Glazers are using L&L’s incompetence in FA last year to go on the cheap ONCE AGAIN!!!!!!!!

  34. Broy34WantsHardyornowatch Says:

Bucrightoff whether he’s a cowbo or Buc please stop speaking as if you know everyrhing about the offseason to make yourself feel important it’s annoying. And honestly it comes off as bitter. If you think Gerald McCoy would post tweets to an already pissed off fan base when he knows his bosses have little interest you’re just a fool

#Bucnation I honestly gave it my all. Not sure what the end result will be. Sometimes things don’t go your way. Oh well now Gerald x2! WORK!

  36. SoonerinTampa Says:

@NFLSTROUD Confirmed: The Bucs no longer are considering DE Greg Hardy as a possible free agent acquisition. Decision was NOT contract related.

  37. NJBucsFan Says:

Bucs Fans: Coach – Do you regret not signing Hardy?

Lovie Smith: “No, right before the draft I didn’t want to put more players on the roster and feel like the only thing that could happen was something bad then,”

    Bucs Fans: Why?

Lovie Smith: “I don’t know your question and what you really asked, but at the end of the week 3 of free agency I felt like we needed to go in then without anything else happening. That’s the decision I made. It doesn’t have anything to do with having faith in anybody. It was a head coach’s decision that I made.”

    Ugh.

  38. Buc1987 Says:

Your fans are losing interest Glazers.

  39. Nick2 Says:

bucrightoff if your correct then Hardy must have been lying to McCoy and now made McCoy look rather foolish.

  40. Diehardbucsfan21 Says:

PFT reporting Hardy is out of Bucs choice.

  41. Cover deuce Says:

And just who else are they gonna spend their cash on? They couldn’t wait to show MJ the Benjamins, but now we’ve got cold feet on Hardy? Should have fired Lovie months ago, now we’ll just have to watch this team find more ways to lose for another year.

  42. bucs4lyfe Says:

I hope he’s focusing more on improving his sack total than marketing a team that just went 2-14….how freaking annoying they are full of it and did none of this the last few years because they were out wasting money, now they are on a campaign to try and get people excited for nothing

  43. Bucs_Sam Says:

Jerry Jones should send the Glazers a small check to end the leverage of hardy.

Spent the night in Dallas, saying the Bucs are an option is purely to drive the price up.

Either Dallas or Tampa is going to overpay for a guy who can’t play day 1 at this point.

I sorta hope at this point, we are just costing Jerry Jones more money at this point.

What position is Exempt list in football? I got it, captain of the couch back home on game day.

Even we get him, he’ll help as much as Freeman next season at this point.

  44. Scratching My Head Says:

The stupidity of the Bucs ownership and leadership continues.

You guys kill me sometime. This is why players disconnect from fans is bc of the non sense we have to deal wit. Oh well real fans. Love you!

Please just get off Twitter GMC. It’s mostly filled with trolls and A-Holes, don’t waste your time with them.

  46. bucs4lyfe Says:

OMG GMC is going all RG3 on twitter….this is the leader of your defense buc fans, just end the greg hardy talk already and come out and say you are or are not interested like the other teams mentioned have done. freaking idiots man I guess any news is good news for an irrevelant franchise damn this is beyond aggravating

  47. unbelievable Says:

@Bruno you are not alone. It’s not that tiny of a percentage.

  48. Keepitreal Says:

    Get Gerald some help

  49. Clint Says:

If they’ll bite on Hardy with his question marks; have to think Winston is an easy choice too. I’m sorry but right now every bit of info has Winston relevance.

  50. Curtis Gatorboy Says:

Gerald acting like he has a say in personel. What a joke he is! we need a new leader in the locker room. His initials are “MM”!

  51. cmurda Says:

Cowgirls sign Hardy for 1 year 11.3 million. That’s a lot of cash for a guy that might be missing a few games.

  52. TBFAN813 Says:

Idk why anyone is upset with McCoy it’s not his job to sign players that would be L&L’s job and they’re not doing it very well. This team has the same issues it had last year and L&L still haven’t addressed them. The thing that really upsets me is that they sold the fan-base a dream about this team being in a win-now mode when really this is a total rebuild. The entire OL was gutted last year and they still haven’t upgraded any of those positions in fact they have gotten worse. Even though L&L have done a terrible job in building a competitive team up to this point the Bucs have been bad for more than a decade and it all falls on the Glazer brothers.

  53. Mike10 Says:

    Lol aunt geraldini
