Extraordinary BS From Michael Johnson

March 18th, 2015

JohnsonA shower and a MRSA-like hazmat decontamination was needed after listening to Michael Johnson’s recent news conference with his new/old team, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Joe hasn’t heard such double talk in a long time.

First, Joe will note Johnson’s agent just told the Cincinnati Enquirer he was “miserable” in Tampa.

However, when Johnson spoke, he praised Buccaneers coaches and said, “I with I would have gotten my shot to come back and really show them what I was capable of, but that’s not the case. Like I said, Cincinnati is going to get the best season of my career so far, from me this year.”

Then Johnson rolled into how the Bengals are his true family and he couldn’t disconnect himself when he was a Buccaneer. “We’ve all kept in touch this whole time. So it’s kind of like I never left,” Johnson said.

On what went wrong for him last year, Johnson insisted he didn’t want to make excuses, but then happily said his Week 1 high ankle sprain messed him up. “You can look around the league and see high ankle sprains and see what it can do,” Johnson said.

Man, Joe’s debating flying to a Bengals preseason game for the sole purpose of dressing in ghost gear and berating the man who robbed Team Glazer, tortured Bucs fans and is now spewing a bunch of baloney.

Leslie Frazier clearly said Johnson’s ankle was fine in November. And back in late September, Lovie Smith raved about Johnson’s dominant play against Pittsburgh, part of the five good quarters he played all season.

Bottom line: Johnson came to Tampa for only a little more cash than Cincinnati would have paid him. Pure greed. And then he mailed in his Bucs season after spraining his ankle on opening day.

    What a punk..

Joe I’ll gladly kick in for your travel expenses and ghost costume for preseason game.

    Dude just stole glazer cash

  2. Nick Says:

Be careful going out in public dressed as a ghost berating an African-American. That could be perceived somewhat poorly.

  3. The Real Malloy Says:

    ha! ^

  4. tmaxcon Says:

On one of you wear the Tommy Lee Jones chicken suite from the Fugitive the other ghost costume .

I thought you went to Lovie’s press confrences???

  6. Buc1987 Says:

Thanks Joe…now I want to throw up.

    Nice realist

theres a new comedy sketch coming called “when free agency goes wrong” starring Michael Johnson and josh mccown. atleast josh mccown was gracious and smart enough not to say much about his dismal season last year but this guy obviously isn’t used to the spotlight and he’s a talking head with a great future in media when he retires. no one has a game like that against the steelers then comes back afterwards complaining about an injury when they aren’t producing. I guess it’s lovie’s fault he didn’t produce…

Michael Johnson in case you didn’t know…this same 2-14 team had another defensive end Jacquies Smith who got 6.5 sacks. how many sacks does he have in his career? 6.5 and you got outplayed by a guy no one ever heard of and you sir are delusional but the problem with having a big mouth is your going to have to prove every word you said

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

It was the Bucs you know, Johnson exclaimed. I did’nt fit in with all those losers down in Tampa.

  10. THETRUTH Says:

I watched this guys play late in the season he would take off on the snap and as soon as the OLINEman put hands on him he would just STOP completely and stand straight up watching the play and just give up. I never in my years see someone do this down after down.

BASICALLY THE PICTURE YOU HAVE UP ON HERE JOE WAS THE EXTENT OF HIS EFFORT..
He took the money but Lovie took the bait

  11. JFF Says:

Still railing on Michael Johnson but not the decisionmakers who brought him in, eh Joe? That worked out well for you with the Popstar, right?

You just won the funniest comment of the month with that one. lol

Hardy is deciding whether to join the Bucs or the ‘Boys

Considering nearly everyone here (but me) wanted him in a Bucs uni last year, that’s kind of hypocritical of you. Where were your warnings before he was signed?

  15. Greg Schiano Says:

Welcome to all things HC Lovie Smith!! Players leave without being traded for players/draft picks/compensation and the Buc’s pay through the nose to sign players away from teams they played hard for, but spend their time in Tampa Bay being injured or unproductive.

Either the players are all out to screw the Buc’s or there is a consistent flaw in the coaching staff for the Buc’s! Why is it Michael Bennett is not good enough to keep in Tampa but plays his butt off in Seattle? How many players have gone to other teams for nothing and had good seasons?

Now the Famous Jameis mob (Jose) is drooling for a #1 pick who is slower than both the Big Poodle and Chucky in a foot race! I am in therapy to deal with the moral implications of drafting a rapist, but no one has provided any proof that the HC who brought us 2-14 last season (and throwing game 16) will bring us anything better in 2015?

    Greg Schiano

  16. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    We’re not getting Hardy. Period.

He’s taking a physical in Dallas. That says it all.

You do realize Lovie Smith has nothing to do with any of those things, right?

Who is in charge of trades?
Who is in charge of free agent signings?
    Who works out the contracts?
    Who overpays?

    Jason Licht.

He is the only GM in the league who tries to get a trade for a player AFTER making it known he plans to cut the player. He’s a complete idiot.

  18. The Buc Realist Says:

I don’t know why Joe is out for M Johnson, Its not like the Bucs spent a 1st round draft pick and then did nothing for 4 years except late Drew Brees and Tom Brady during a scrimmage!!!

As bad as MJ was, it was still an upgrade over adrian slowborn!

  19. tmaxcon Says:

    Bonzi

You are so wrong. Lovie has final say period. How man times do Licht and Lovie have to say it publicly or for joe to write Lovie Overlord of Football operations for you to accept this. Licht is title only. This disaster is all on Lovie. If you demand control you need to man up when fail. Lovie has failed

in what universe? Adrian clayborn was more useful on injured reserve than Michael Johnson was on the field, atleast clayborn freed up a roster spot lol

you never know what happens with greg hardy and fans may just be glad we didn’t sign the guy, for all we know he could end up with tiger woods syndrome.

  21. iamkingsu Says:

This article is irrelevant. Where is the young stud that wears #54 new contract?? He will walk next year because he knows he should’ve been a pro bowler the last 3 years. He might see that he can’t get the notoriety playing in Tampa. Shouldve been priority number one this off-season.

  22. Dewey Selmon Says:

He couldn’t disconnect? Way to be a pro the Michelle. All that money and ur mind was on Cinny so much you couldn’t show up on Sunday.

  23. Jim Says:

Start a gofundme and lets kick in so Joe can get to Cincinnati!

  24. ShutTheBucUp Says:

What a POS. Seemed like a nice guy, but come one. This guy is not a professional.

  25. Canada Bucs fan Says:

Can we please forget we ever got this punk on our squad

I’m Winston Zeddmore, Your Honor. I’ve only been with the company for a couple of weeks, but these things are real. Since I joined these men, I’ve seen $h!t that’ll turn you white.

  30. unbelievable Says:

    Realist, you are 100% WRONG.

MJ was an upgrade over Clayborn? In what f*cking world do you live in?

MJ was the worst FA signing after Revis. Plain and simple. Dude is a coward, greedy, money hungry chump.

F**K that guy. Hope he breaks his ankle next year. I’m sick of these bullsh*t FAs coming to Tampa and doing nothing except counting their cash.

Did you know Cinci is also receiving compensatory picks for him? Even though he’s back on the team?!?

  31. Abilu Says:

Haha JoeBucsFan being the little baby he is. “I’m going to go over there and dress up like a little idiot and berate him like he should.” Joe can you be any more childish?? I would love to see that so the Cinci journalists can see what a farce you really are. Hahahahahah.

  32. OAR Says:

In the legendary words of Dr. Peter Venkman: He slimed me.

  33. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

I find it “amazing” how Johnson can go from a good guy, who played injured nearly the whole time he was in Tampa, to someone who is now evil and greed, because he left.
He is back with the Bengals again, so what is he supposed to say, he doesn’t want to be there ?

This is a problem this time of year, finding SOMETHNG to write about.

For whatever reason, things did not work out for him here in Tampa, or for us Fans.
Hopefully, we will somehow sign Greg Hardy, and Johnson will become a distant memory.

  34. ddneast Says:

Very funny Another J and that’s coming from the class liberal.

  35. salish_seamonster Says:

Let’s move on. This subject is dead.

  36. Mike10 Says:

Jokes on L + L…. you signed em

  37. CLW JB Says:

MJ was a joke, plain and simple. Absolutely not an explosive first step DE, have to have that in the T2

He’s a contain end playing the right side instead of the left…AC at least played with fire even if he was playing with less than 2 limbs fully functional, would have rather resigned him at a lesser tender than be barren ( no pun) like we are now…

we are treating FA like there are rookies at QB, DE, G,T,Slot WR,Nickel CB, RS, Punter – 9 holes at minimum – pick maybe 3 we can actually use as rookies all season if we are lucky- what about the other six?

MJ is just a microcosm of the larger issues with this franchise

  38. bucstop.com Says:

Michael Johnson= Ron Holmes No, Ill give Holmes credit, he was trying to replace a legend.

  39. bucstop.com Says:

chris at apple roof…im not sure there is NOTHING to write about, JBF pumps out many articles a day when no one else does, we still talk about Jamis vs Marriotta every day on talk radio, hardly NOTHIGN to talk about now in the heart of Free Agency and only a month away from the draft.

Oh, arnt first OTAs around the corner? or perhaps that was a bonus one last year we got with a new coaching staff.
