“Let’s Go Eat!”

Johnthan Banks is Mic'd Up.

Johnthan Banks is Mic’d Up.

No, Johnthan Banks isn’t talking about a New Year’s buffet or a backyard barbecue. No, he’s talking about the defense of the Bucs.

In another cool “Mic’d Up” episode, the second-year corner for the Bucs, perhaps one of the more underrated players on the team, is wired for sound.

Follow along as you see and hear Banks react to various plays during the game. Viewers will learn he’s confident he can dance better than Mike Evans.

Off topic…but Joes, it sure would be nice to have an open thread for the games today if you guys feel up to it 🙂

We didnt win the SB with a “Franchise QB”
We won the SB with a solid OL, serviceable QB and Lights out D.
I could see this D getting into Lights out form in a yr or so. Now lets take care of that OL

  3. Lovie will start McCown and pick DE Says:

I’ve always liked Banks on the field and he seems like a great guy to have on the team personality-wise too. Solid second rounder.

But one thing I just can’t understand as a swede is this phenomenon of grown men running around calling each other baby in every sentence? wtf man?

Here’s an interesting rumor…the 49ers structured Kaepernick’s contract so that they could release his during any off season if they choose to. The rumor is that with Jim chased out, Kaepernick no longer wants to play there. Seems jim was the only person there that believed him when accusations of rape were made (which he was later cleared of).

So…Kaepernick might be released (unlikely) or traded (more likely, but not by much).

The question I pose here…would the first round pick be worth getting Kaepernick over Winston or Mariota?

A superbowl appearance, three playoff appearances.

If we were to offer the first overall for their first and Kaepernick, would that be a good deal for us? We’d still have our first round pick to spend where we needed, we’d get a good QB.

Or would Kaepernick and their second rounder be good enough?

  6. Matt Says:

I would trade our 2nd and conditional 4th rounder for kap and restructure his contract to around 16m a year. He would do very well with our big receivers. Anyways, as inconsistent as Kap has been, it’s highly unlikely that they will give up on Kap so quickly. The 9ers will draftva Sammie Coates or Kevin White (6’3 220ish wr) and Kap will excel.. He’s a one or two read guy. He’s not intelligent enough to be a great QB by manipulating safeties and anticipating open windows.

  7. R.O. Says:

Really you want Kaepernick? Overrated…. Already hit his ceiling. For #1 overall pick. SMH….

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Bonzai

I’ll take my chances with either rookie……

  9. Luther Says:

I don’t want Kaepernick. If they are not not trying to keep him, why should we want him?

  10. Harry Says:

    @Bonzai,
I read the same article and, IMO, no way does a new coach come in and say he doesn’t want Kapernick, nor would management hire him if he felt that way. The 49ers love Kap. Now maybe if Kap has another 1 or 2 poor seasons, they might consider changes. I thought the writer of that article took things a bit far, but that’s just my opinion.

Also IMO, no way I swap first rd pick and only get Kap in return. I am curious how others may feel about that (unless they are UF alums, lol). Heck, I know it’s an extreme, but look at what Washington gave up to get RG3, and he was not consider to be of the level Winston (on the field)

  11. Bucnut2 Says:

Another suspect post. Who would want kapernick. Although I would take him over winston

  12. MadMax Says:

Anyone watching Bryce Petty lighting it up against Michigan St.? Im telling you, that kid will be a great pick up in the 3rd or 4th (where he’s projected)

  13. MadMax Says:

OMG the long ball Petty is displaying…..Holy cow man! This guy would be a steal in the 2nd round to me.

  14. LUVMYBUC Says:

    Test

  15. kevin Says:

Its gonna be exciting to watch the two qbs the bucs have theyre pick of go head to head today. Cant wait

  16. MadMax Says:

Petty has set the Cotton Bowl record for passing yards…..464….and thats at the end of the 3rd quarter!

  17. Buccfan37 Says:

Pass on Kaepernick. His game has been figured out and held in check.
