Lions Talking About The “Top 5” Bucs

Yes, Joe’s a junkie for anything related to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And that’s why chatter and the look of angst from Lions center Dominik Raiola had Joe paying attention.

Check out this video interview of Raiola from the Detriot locker room. Joe believes it reveals the message being pumped into the Lions offense this week as they prepare to host the Bucs on Sunday.

Multiple times, Raiola references the Bucs being a “top-5” defense since Tampa Bay’s bye week. He talks about looking deep into the stats, as well as the film. Unless Raiola is a unique data junkie, Joe’s confident those stats are being fed to the Lions’ offense by coaches. Detriot doesn’t want any let down from its 8-4 team against the lowly Bucs.

They’re selling themselves that the Bucs are a nasty, dangerous bunch, which they have been defensively.

Interestingly, Raiola looks like he wants to vomit when the discussion turns to Gerald McCoy. Raiola’s expression changes into one of fear and he doesn’t say McCoy’s name. Fun stuff.

Also, Raiola seems stunned the Bucs lost a game for having 12 men on the field. Join the club, pal.

    Caldwell getting his boys prepared mentally and physically. That’s how you have to do it.

  2. RastaMon Says:

    on the flip side Suh…..is LHAO…..

  3. Robert 9 Says:

    lol

    every week our competition has to get themselves pumped by saying tampa is a tough team, when in reality they just don’t want to get embarrassed like the skins did after playings us following a 3 day drinking binge.

  4. buc4lyfe Says:

    We’ve been talking about banks all year but this week he has to earn the praise because he’s the only one that should be guarding Megatron

    News Flash!!!

    The Bucs suck again!!!

    I’m so glad I didn’t waste my money on season tickets this year…

    I’m also glad I didn’t waste a single dime on ANY BUC gear or anything BUC related…

    Nor will I spend a dime on any of this nonsense until they are no longer the laughing stock of the NFL…

    DONE!!!

  6. RastaMon Says:

    I thought Mike Evasaid he was going to help out the defense and guard Megatron…..

  7. billy buckaroo Says:

    Please
    just don’t start the game with a run up the middle right into Suh.

  8. Tom Edrington Says:

    Do the Bucs even know how to get to Detroit?

    If Lovie were driving them there, they’d probably end up in Omaha.

    It helps to have major talent on both sides of the ball. Caldwell is a good coach, but Indianapolis and their fans couldn’t get rid of him fast enough when Manning got hurt and they went 1-15.

    Why the eff would they drive to Detroit? I’m pretty sure 50% of the guys in the NFL don’t know how to get to New England and another 75% of guys in the NBA couldn’t point to Golden State on a map. Big effing deal… these guys are playing hard, they haven’t quit on their coach the way they did on Schiano, and the defense is playing excellent ball. The offense is playing up to their paygrade which considering the acting coordinator, QBs, and OL, they’re still outgaining and outscoring Schiano’s bunch from last season.

  11. Bogiedr Says:

    @ Tom Edrington
    Yes the Bucs know how to get to Detroit. Back in the days of the Black and Blue division, known as the NFC Central, we were the Lions favorite whipping team … We always got run over by the Lions!

  12. Robert 9 Says:

    hi lovie 🙂

    er, i mean brandon

  13. nate_tweetz Says:

    The Bucs are not as good as the Lions (obviously), but they weren’t better than the Lions the last time they went up there and won. Detroit probably isn’t sleeping on this matchup because we’ve already beaten them up there before. This defense is playing lights out. We’ve been in every game recently. Now if our offense can manage to score a higher number points than than penalties, we might actually be able to finish a game with a win. Frankly, at this point I rather see us be competitive but still lose. At this point there really is no advantage to winning an away game up in Detroit. Just hurts our draft placement. Gotta love being a Bucs fan. SMDH

  14. Buccfan37 Says:

    It was’nt that long ago that the Lion’s went winless for the season. At least the Bucs have’nt quite matched that futility. The Bucs have played them pretty much evenly over the years. I’m sure the Lions won’t scare anybody if they make the playoffs.

  15. DB55 Says:

    Banks shut down megatron last year, 1 catch for 7 yards if I’m not mistaken. He shut down AJ Green last week, so much so AJ moved into the slot. Lol

    Banks is a true talent, realistically can’t expect him to hold megatron to 7 yards but less than 100 and 0 tds will do nicely.

  16. 87ForJameisOrMariota Says:

    @Bogiedr…so true Barry had some of his best games against the Bucs. One could say Barry should thank the Bucs for his HOF bust.

    Barry had some of his best highlights against the Bucs.

  17. bucrightoff Says:

    Pre bye QBs faced

    Derek Anderson
    Austin Davis
    Matt Ryan
    Drew Brees
    Joe Flacco
    Ben Roethlesberger

    Post bye QBs faced

    Teddy Bridgewater
    Future Bucs starter Brian Hoyer
    Matt Ryan
    RGFinished
    Jay Cutler
    Andy Dalton

    So did the defense really get better? Or did the level of QBs we faced got much worse? A combination of both most likely. Finishing with Detroit, New Orleans and Green Bay will be a much stronger indicator of the state of the defense than the last 6 weeks.

  18. DB55 Says:

    @brandon

    Nate_tweetz said “if our offense can manage to score a higher number points than than penalties, we might actually be able to finish a game with a win”

    Ouch!!

  19. Ray Rice Says:

    @JOE

    Lmfao Raiola scared of Aunt Geraldine? What are you smoking man. He goes up against Suh and Fairley everyday. How the heck can you even think Aunt Geraldine is nastier than that duo. He didn’t say Aunt Geraldines name because hes irrelevant. He knows he only has to worry ababout him in the 1st quarter. Thats it. After that he knows Aunt Geraldine disappears.

  20. JayBucBoi Says:

    Yeah Joe, and this is why we see your’s as the number site for all things Bucs. We’re all junkies of the home team, and you feed our obsession.

  21. CC Says:

    @Brandon
    How’s the koolaid?

  22. DallasBuc Says:

    They are not concerned about the Bucs. I can assure you of that.

  23. SteveK Says:

    Brandon,

    Schiano would have the Bucs better than 2-10 this year, book it.

  24. Patrickbucs Says:

    @rayrice

    At least get your facts straight, Fairley is on IR since early in the season. Most NFL guys seem to like McCoy better then Suh since year 1. Suh has had much better talent on his line then McCoy has as well but keep pumping the facts.

    I’m from Michigan and have watched every Lions game. They are great against the run not against the pass with a good QB so we’re screwed.

  25. Ray Rice Says:

    @Patrick

    No $$hit Fairley is out. And FYI he’s been out since their London game. And no hes not on IR. Talking about getting your facts straight. Next time you want to call someone out check facts. So, yes Raiola goes up against Suh and Fairley everyday. Fairley not for the time being because hes hurt but he did prior. And the comment JOE made was that Raiola is scared of Aunt Geraldine. What does Suh having more talent on his DL have to do with Raiola being scared of Aunt Geraldine. Raiola faces a nastier and more aggressive player in Suh. Aunt Geraldine doesn’t even come close to that.

  26. jabba Says:

    you know what really annoys me? while he did awknowledge gerald mccoy as an elite player, he specifically said we have ONE elite player. to bucs fans its no secret that lavonte david falls into that category as well, perhaps more so than gerald mccoy (even though hes surprisingly lacking in ‘splash plays’ this season).
    because he is my favorite player i take more offense in this than i should but i think we can all agree on the fact that he is way underappreciated.

  27. Architek Says:

    Who is that on the left side of the photo being stood up?

  28. Ray Rice Says:

    @Jabba

    Don’t worry. He will get to see our other elite player (LVD) on Sunday first hand. Not to mention Savage Mike and VJ. Only if they can get them the ball.

  29. Patrickbucs Says:

    @ray

    He’s not practicing and going to be put in IR because they are pretty positive he won’t play this year. He’s not practicing at all, I would share a link but Joe hates that. Was in the detroit free press.

    Calling McCoy boy a girls name is brutal and shows a lack of respect, much like your internet name

  30. Ray Rice Says:

    @Patrick

    To be honest I really don’t care what they do with Fairley. As far as my name goes I will make sure to visit the cemetery and tell my parents that you are offended by the name they gave me. Raymond Rice.

  31. 87ForJameisOrMariota Says:

    Just don’t get too racist today okay? LOL

  32. Yo Says:

    Really? Suh is that far better then McCoy?

    For you to say that erases your cred bro. Lol really not even close huh.

    I guess you are right if you mean he isn’t as close to a dirty player as Suh. Maybe McCoy can stomp on some players and be as good. Take your Suh sucking arse off the internet until you have some actual intelligent comparisons.

    Trust me bro, Lions are not winning the Super Bowl so really the teams are equal.

  33. Ray Rice Says:

    @Yo

    Did you read that right? Never said Suh was better. Get your $$hit straight. Suh is a far more menacing player than Aunt Geraldine. If you dont realize that then you are just like everyone else who jocks #93. Raiola will not be scared of Aunt Geraldine Sunday. Take that to the bank buddy. Listen to any of the great ones who played in the trenches. They all say you have to be nasty and have an attitude to play that position. And if you think Suh is the only one who plays dirty in trenches you are FUKN remedial. You are probably one of those fans who criticized Aunt Geraldine in the beginning saying he was too nice. Now you’re on his jock. Get off the CPU and stop running up your parents electricity bill kid.
