Report: “Spectator” David At Today’s Practice

November 21st, 2014

LavontetrainingcampUPDATED: 1:18 p.m. — The latest from One Buc Palace sure makes it seem like the Bucs will have to find a way to win Sunday without Lavonte David, the NFL leader in tackles.

TampaBay.com Bucs beat writer Greg Auman shared the grim news via Twitter.

Rarely does any player miss a Friday practice, which is always light, and then play on Sunday. It’s even more rare when his team is 2-8.

Joe would expect to see Danny Lansanah fill David’s role and Dane Fletcher start at strong side linebacker.

I said this when he was limited early in the week. If he’s hurt at all sit him down. His toughness will never be questioned. This shouldn’t even be a tough decision

It would be a shame though if he doesn’t make the probowl because his stats fall behind after missing a game. They’ll find any reason to keep him out, last year shows us that!

Brooks never missed a game during his 14-season career in which he established himself as the cornerstone for what was considered one of the NFL’s best defenses for a decade.”

There goes one of our comparisons…
