April 2nd, 2014

It was a lively session this evening as Joe sat down with the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig of WDAE-AM 620. Joe hit on a wide range of Bucs and NFL topics. Enjoy!

Trade Up for Manzeil????? Are You Out Of Your Mind.

  2. JWBucs Says:

Which ever team takes Johnny Football, they are either gonna let him run crazy like he does now or they will try to turn him into a pocket passer. In the NFL I don’t see a scenario where either one will work.

  3. ruggyup Says:

The Buc_Realist and JWBucs are both spot on! Johnny M may be good for somebody but, NOT the Bucs. Please, management and coaching staff retain your perspective. Lock up a really good OT, your QBs and RBs will love you. Me too.

“Trade Up for Manzeil????? Are You Out Of Your Mind.”

Realist who’s saying that, the Lil Puppy or one of the Joes?

I can’t listen to BD anymore as he trashes my team. He hurts my ears, and my pewter, red, and orange heart. Mostly hurts my ears though. Like nails on a chalk board.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

Don’t let my above comment dissuade anyone from listening to this great show. The Joe’s are great. Click the button, fire away and enjoy the show!

  6. Barry Says:

Can not make decisions with the heart. Deep draft. Five picks. Trade down. Acquire more picks if possible. The key to this draft is Licht.

  7. Eric Says:

    Very clear thinking Joe.

  8. Hunter Says:

Trading up for Manziel wouldn’t be as crazy as trading up for Freeman.

  9. Andrew 1 Says:

    of just as crazy…

  10. Andrew 1 Says:

    or

  11. JT Says:

I like duemig he puts on a good show. Hes old school down to earth and most important he really loves tampa bay sports. However his extreme view on glennon are wrong(in my opinion)and borderline over the top. I mean cmon gleenon needs some work for sure but hes earned his stripes in this leauge whereas manziel has not.

  12. LUVMYBUCS Says:

LMAO YOU WOULD TRADE MARK BARRON+A 1ST ROUND DRAFT PICK TO MOVE UP AND DRAFT MANZIEL…NAH I DIDN’T JUST HEAR THAT ….

Wow just when you think that you’ve heard it all. As we get closer to draft-I’m sure you’ll mention LVD & GMC in trade scenarios..smh

  13. Johnny Manziel Says:

@JOE…. Trade up for Manziel….? why do you run this site when you never know what your talking about? Manziel has second round talent at best, his talent levels suits more of the 3rd round.

  14. Tnew Says:

Only players to trade up for are (in order) Clowney, Robinson, Mack then possibly Watkins. If you really want to draft a franchise QB, if possible trade out of this years draft for an early two and next years 1. Then you would have the ammo to trade up for Winston next season. I have total confidence that the only way that the bucs take manziel is if he slips to the middle of 1 and we either trade down and he falls to us or he slips to the 20s (as many are projecting) and we jump back in to the first. Either manziel or bridgewater is going to slide way down in this draft.

Joe I am not a MG8er but you are off your professional rocker with your obsession for this entitled Spoiled brat that is too small etc etc etc.
PLEASE give it a bit of a rest.

  16. Architek Says:

Detached and impractical – not great. Love the site but not sure why they are so negative these days, after the Schiano experiment I would think they’re all in on Lovie.

  17. Eric Says:

    Excellent ideas Joe.

  18. Hunter Says:

I’m a Glennon supporter and think he did very well last year. But I won’t complain if Manziel is taken by us in the draft. I don’t care for Bortles or Bridgewater.

    No.

  20. BucFan4Life Says:

Just wait till Joe starts to lose site visitors at an extremely fast rate because of his annoying and creepy man love for Manziel, also because it proves your lack of football intelligence. Trade up for Manziel? that in simply insane. I think Manziel is one of the bigger projects in this entire QB class, could take him 3-4 years to get a hold of things in the NFL. The beers are getting to Joe’s brain.. because this is crazy talk.

Folks, Joe doesn’t give a flying crap if he “starts to lose site visitors.” Joe isn’t going to topically censor himself worried about reader reaction. That’s not going to happen.–Joe

  21. Chris Says:

Joe doesn’t know anything about football or qb prospects. Heck joe thought Stephen Tuitt was an edge rusher. Manziel style won’t translate to this league. He needs major development and shouldn’t be touched in round 1 let alone top 10. Trade up for him? Fired.

And when Tuitt rushes off the edge this year then what? Glad you think Joe is a complete idiot. Your patronage here says otherwise. –Joe

Teddy bridgewater is the only qb I’m taking round 1. I hope he is ours at 7. If not take BPA. Evans or Mack should be there. Then round 2 get Jimmy garoppolo. Excellent fit in our offense. I do like joes thinking in Allen Robinson though.

  22. lurker Says:

we need a qb this year. he can grow with the offense since it will be new to everyone. we will not be this high in next year’s draft since people think lovie and licht have excelled and we will win at least 8 games. fsu lamer qb is staying in college and mariota sucks. our biggest hole is qb, and now guard…brilliant maneuvering. I stated there were no worthwhile qb’s in free agency this year or the coming years.

manziel has just as much of a chance to succeed as any other player, including clowney, mack, robinson, etc. we could move down and draft carr or garoppolo but if we wait until the second they will be gone and we need better than injured qb’s.

  23. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ gutrbuc17

Joe says no, and of course not. didn’t you hear the clip. It’s not about whether or not you are right or wrong, its all about clicks. yea, I said it.

Dude, please get real and stop acting stupid. You and the rest of the Johnny Haters act like the Bucs have a settled quarterback position and/or a good NFL starter in place, and you act like Johnny Football is some renegade project. This is the Heisman winner out of the SEC with a tremendous diverse skill set. Nick Saban game-planned an entire year for Johnny and got torched. Joe’s not the only one who considers Johnny Football a top prospect with true “franchise” potential. Scroll down and you’ll even see Derrick Brooks talk about the “elephant” in the room” –Joe

  24. Buc1987 Says:

    lmao Andrew 1 …yep true.

  25. Buc1987 Says:

    Oh draft get here soon….

  26. lurker Says:

since this is played out, should we talk about the nba draft? who should Orlando take?

  27. Dreambig Says:

All the draft experts on this site crack me up. There are no guarantees in the draft and a good number of top college players never make it in the NFL. We are never going to have a franchise QB unless we seek out players with great talent and potential, maybe a few of them, and let them duke it out. I think Glennon did reasonably well last year considering the play calling, bad blocking and the fact he was always trying to make something out of 3rd down and a mile after two failed running plays up the middle on 1st and 2nd down. Having said that, heck yeah, draft Manzel if you can, and raise the level of competition. Manzel seems to have that deep desire to win that you can’t coach and he might just make our offense fun to watch for a change

  28. Bucfan#37 Says:

I am not opposed to taking Manziel in round 1. In the past, the Bucs have selected many reaches at or near the top of their drafts. He may be gone by #7 pick, the Bucs may have to move up if they want him. His size does’nt concern me, it’s all about the heart and determination to succeed. I think he has it.
