Bucs At Stinking Panthers, Open Thread

Don’t worry, for open threads, Joe won’t force you to click a mouse and potentially sprain a thumb. We all know how clicking a mouse is so exhausting, akin to working a loading dock.
So the Bucs will try to extend their three-game winning streak against a beat up Stinking Panthers squad. This gives Joe a bit of hope.
The Bucs are not the same team that got curb-stomped by the Panthers on a Monday night a little over a month ago. And, apparently, neither are the Panthers.
Joe’s pretty sure that if the Bucs pull this out and Glennon hits a bomb or two for long gains/scores, Bucs commander Greg Schiano is saved from being forced to walk the plank.

This is starting to look like the first few games of the season. The Bucs are in it, but they aren’t seizing opportunities and instead squander them. They are only down 11 with plenty of football left, but Schiano’s team is not known for being a second half team. It’d be nice to see Glennon get his first come-from-behind victory, and it’d also be nice to see Bobby Rainey get a few yards. O-line has to step up. GO BUCS!!!!!!

Look I travel four hours to every home game even when they are not doing good to support this team. Im not saying that what is happening today is acceptable, but im tired of the fans that just talk sh*t, and have no merit. I played the game as well and I was passionate then as I am now. But as a fan you have to support these guys. Its one thing to point the facts but to say Glennon is not the answer when its his rookie season and to already have given up on the guy after one game is complete BS. Shows what you know about football. Support these guys because they will be good, and when they are I hope none of you negative talking fans are around to try to soak up the glory. Aaaand this game is pretty much over. Even if the Bucs could stop the Panthers offense (which they CAN’T), I doubt Sully and Schiano can lead the Bucs to score 3 times with only about half a quarter left. The win streak was nice, but this is a slap to the face that brings us back to reality, the Bucs are 3-8 (soon to be 3-9). Can we at least get a TD and go down fighting?

We beat ourselves all game, doesn’t change what we have done with a bunch of back ups till now recently.

Bad game plan from beginning. Running vs. Panthers bad idea. Defense looks very very soft. Not seeing the dlinemen getting any push. Running on first down 100%. Rivera outcoaching Shiano again. Bucs need to play loose. Carolina has more to lose we don’t. No hurry up when down by 17. Slow motion football. We are seeing the same Bucs we saw before the Seattle game. Everything looks like it’s in 1st gear. The word today was “we surrender”.

I concur skelly. The Bucs do need more offensive weapons. We need a WR, and I still think a tight end. Wright is good but not the answer. Plus the tight end position is very important for QBs in this league. On defense it would have to be a defensive end. I would say draft one and get a big free agent name. We have to get the pass rush going like the good old days. I really believe this team is headed in the right direction. I wish they would have been a little more fired up today, but it is what it is. I can tell you one thing as a player when your record is not good its hard to come out every week and perform the way they have these last few weeks. They are playing for pride, and for the fans. Alls I have to say is haing in there fans, the promise land will be here. You have to believe, and can never give up on them even when we have days like today. Bucs fan for life!

Gotta say, I love the passion Man!!! And I am quite jealous you live in a place that allows you reasonable travel to get to games. Believe me, if I wasn’t hundreds of miles away I would be a season ticket holder and buy you a beer every once in a while. But you have to admit, there is a lot of improving to do and we are far removed from 2002. The coaching staff has done a lot over the last few years to damage this franchise and I simply cannot support some of the decisions made at One Buc Place. But, my last name is not Glazer, so the only thing I can do is make noise on threads like this and hope something happens.

Didn’t have high expectations for this game but I certainly thought it was winnable. As Joe said, coming into this game the Bucs were not the same team that got curb-stomped by the Kitties on Thursday Night Football. Well, they showed up to Charlotte and got curb-stomped again.
4 games left, as long as the Bucs don’t lose all of their remaining games I have hope for next year. We have San Fran, the Aints, Rams, and Bills to finish things off. I can see the Bucs winning at least 2 of those. Finishing 5-11 or 6-10 would be remarkable considering how ugly this team has looked this season.

Thanks classie. The Bucs remind me alot of my own life, I think that’s why im so passionate about them. People will tell you at the games on how I am. lol I grew up watching these guys back when my family only had a couple of channels, and was thankful I got to watch their great years of dominance. They inspired me to play football. To be successful. I went from having nothing to being in a great career as an Lead engineer for NexteraEnergy. I have never given up even when I couldn’t find a job with an engineering degree and sanding boats for minimum wage. What I like about this team is how they have not given up on the season. This will go a long way come next year. Yes today was not good but there will be weeks like this even when you are good. Nothing went our way today. I think we are getting close to being great, probably a couple of years out. Now I can support this team as being a season ticket holder so they can be on tv so maybe another young Buc gets inspired as I did. Trust me I hate the losses just as much as everybody here. But one thing I will not do is talk smack about my team. Its funny how Cam was all upset and pouting last year when his team was not doing good. Look what a year can do. I’m just glad my QB is not whining and hanging in there. Its what champions are made of. GO BUCS! See y’all next week!
