Will The Bucs Stop Douglas, Cone And Davis?

October 17th, 2013

Minus Julio Jones, Roddy White and Steven Jackson, the 1-4 Falcons are a beatable bunch on Sunday. Heck, former Bucs QB Shaun King even predicted a Bucs win. (Joe will have more on that later.)

Harry Douglas, Kevin Cone and Drew Davis are the Falcons’ top available receivers.

Who?

The Atlanta Journal Constitution penned a little story about these guys and how the Falcons were studying a trade for Hakeem Nicks this week.

The trio has no touchdowns and 17 catches this season, 16 by Douglas, who’s actually been with the Falcons for five years and has caught 138 balls. However, 29-year-old Douglas should be no match for Darrelle Revis.

In theory, that leaves Tony Gonzalez has the Falcons’ top threat. Joe would love to see Mark Barron have a game Sunday worthy of the 7th overall pick. Barron, in part, was drafted to lockdown elite tight ends.

First good story I have read all week haha!

The seventh overall pick of a draft should affect every game that he’s in or it’s a lousy pick. So far Barron is a lousy pick.

  3. Keith Says:

Well put. Time for Barron to step up

It does not matter to me. I’m still going into every game expecting the Bucs to lose from here on out. That way if they win a game that would be great. If they lose it. It’s not like I didn’t see it coming. So no high expectations for me anymore. As far as I’m concerned I’m taking that stance even heading into next season as well. I’m going to expect less and hope to get more. NO MORE high expectations!

Man I hope the bucs lose the test of there games for two reasons.

    1. To get rid of Schiano’s non game adjustment arse.

    2. To get a chance to draft Taj Boyd, I don’t believe in M. Glennon.

  6. Hector Says:

The rest of their games*. Apple auto correct sucks!

  7. Splengo Says:

    Buc1987,

Sure you care or you wouldn’t have made a million posts since July. You’ve been around football long enough to see the remainder of the schedule and know there are better teams left to play. And the 1 or 2 teams that look like low hanging fruit, you aren’t convinced that we can beat because low hanging fruit is part of the reason we’re 0-5.

You’ve said a lot that’s been copied to Word for future reference. Don’t bug out now, just bend over and take it like a man!

  8. Buc1987 Says:

No Splengo….I’m done with high expectations. I don’t care how depleted the opposing team is. I can change my outlook for games just like anyone else. I know some people in here want to see homers that always think the Bucs are going to win so they can have a debate. Your not going to find it in me. Nice try though. My expectations were shattered 3 weeks ago against Zona. I expect the team to lose, and hope that they win. Hope is and has been all most of us have left. Then again there are people that just want them to lose every game anyways. Which to me, makes them an a-hole regardless of their reasons for it. I HOPE they win every game, I just don’t expect it anymore. Seeing is believing.

  9. BirdDoggers Says:

There are no excuses. The Bucs defense should take care of the depleted Falcons offense. The Falcons defense hasn’t had a pass rush all year so Glennon should have time to throw, even with an underachieving offensive line. Another winnable game for the Bucs. Can they do it is the question.

    Buc1987,

Well then you want find an enemy in me. Like Ten Bears said in Pale Rider – ” There’s iron in your words” and I join you in hoping for the best. Lol

O we didnt but yet its his fault booooooo schanio I guarantee u if u put them n the roght placrs like goood coaches do they’ll thrive an be worthy of what we deserve every ship has to have a captain wouldn’t u agree?

  13. Paul Says:

Our 1st round draft pick Talib is awesome at shutting down TE’s. Oh wait, we gave him as an offering to the great Belichick for peanuts.

  14. Adam L. Says:

    I’m going to say “no.”

Every team the Bucs have played have had a major question going into the game. When the game was over, they had the problem corrected.

  15. Hank Says:

Why not put Revis on Gonzalez then?
