Report: Davin Joseph Battled MRSA

October 30th, 2013

The dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig of WDAE-AM 620, told his listeners yesterday that one unnamed Buccaneer an October 6 CBS Sports report referenced was afflicted with MRSA is Davin Joseph.

Duemig was clear that Joseph has been battling the effects of MRSA during the 2013 season. He did not reveal his source.

Duemig has many close ties to the Bucs organization and co-hosted a weekly show with Joseph on the Buccaneers Radio Network during past seasons.

Of course, Bucs fans have seen Joseph’s performance decline this season. Most speculated it was either because Joseph wasn’t right after his August 2012 knee surgery or he simply was declining. Joseph turns 30 in November. But perhaps MRSA has been a factor.

In a post titled “Traveling Without The Leader,” on Aug. 12, Joe was very skeptical about Joseph, a team captain, missing the Bucs’ preseason trip to New England for three practices and a preseason game. Other players rehabilitating injuries, including Carl Nicks, Darrelle Revis and Adrian Clayborn, attended. Top members of the Bucs’ training staff also accompanied the team. The official word from the Bucs was that Joseph stayed in Tampa for “strengthening.”

“D-meg has many close ties to the Bucs organization”

    ____________

I’m still waiting for the Glazers to sell to the DeBartolo’s that steve was so adamant about years ago.

I think this is all part of Schianos most recent scam!
He’s trying to convince other teams, that all the Bucs are virtually dripping with Mrsa! This will scare them in to forfeiting- and Schiano gets a win!!

This worst part is, I think it is the best hope he has, to prevent 0-16. Finally, after 7 games- he produces a strategy that might win a game!!

Will the Clown circus at OneBuc never end? Everyday it’s something outlandish!

I hope Davin is ok. If he does have Mrsa, I hope he has a quick recovery.

Duemig hates schiano with a passion because he kicked his beloved freebow to the curb! Anyone can quote an Unnamed source and make up a story. It;s the way of the 21st century. I have news from an unnamed source basically means they don’t know sh*t!

  4. ShutTheBucUp Says:

I know its in vogue to hate schiano, and I think its warranted to a degree, but this MRSA thing has likely had a huge effect on the season. But I guess you can’t hate something you can’t see on the sideline.

That’s a helluva point. Joe can’t think of a team that had a MRSA outbreak that was a winning team. Were the Rams winning when they had a MRSA-infested locker room?

Can’t remember an NFL team that had so many distractions.

  6. bucsfan13 Says:

    @joe
How did the browns do while infected with MRSA? They crapped out too. The worst part about the MRSA thing is that it is on everybody. You, me, and every poster here has MRSA on their skin. So to say somehow the bucs are at fault is amazing!

  7. Keith Says:

Bizarre season. Still doesn’t excuse the bad coaching.

  8. BirdDoggers Says:

The MRSA problem has definitely had an effect on the season. If anything else, it’s been a distraction to the team. I think the Glazer’s are giving Schiano every opportunity to find some success this season considering all issues.

  9. givemeball Says:

    Schianos fault too right??

  10. SCKelly22 Says:

Someone please just make this nightmare end….

  11. mike Says:

@sckelly said it before I could. The season was doomed from the start and all the Kerry Lumpkins in the world couldn’t save it.

  12. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

So, did the kicker bring the MRSA with him?

It didn’t just appear out of nowhere. He showed up in camp, then, next thing you know they have MRSA in house.

  13. Capt. Tim Says:

Mrsa is the one problem that isn’t on Schiano. If we just sucked this year- I’d even give him some major leeway because of it.

But we sucked last year, every team figured out his Rutgers offense and Defense. They used that against us last year.
And he changed nothing. Made adjustments to nothing.

Unless we are afflicted with the rare “brain Mrsa”, nothing changes the fact that Schianos strategies are the reason we are losing.
Though I’m sure the Mrsa isn’t helping, it’s still Schiano leading us to 1-14

Bucs: Davin Joseph Not Infected With MRSA

So once again either the Bucs do not want to disclose the fact that Joseph has MRSA or Duemig is a blowhard. I wonder which is more likely. Duemig is the king of making an vague statement concerning an issue or a game and then says “I told you so” regardless of the outcome. Thank god someone finally put a decent sports talk show on at opposite him so I can switch him off.

  15. Capt. Tim Says:

    Oops! Sorry Greg!
Your one scheme that mighta worked, and the Glazers shoot you down!!
The” everybody has Mrsa” strategy might have got you a forfeit!
    Win team Schiano!

Don’t know how you’ll get a win now!
And listening to you- neither do you!

Must be nice to be a “journalist” that can make up unsubstantiated crap to satisfy your personal agenda. Glad to see Joe later divorced themselves from BD’s “bullspit”

Joe didn’t divorce himself from anything. Some of you guys read stuff that just isn’t here. –Joe
