  1. Bobby Says:

Shouldn’t be that hard to win if we can just stay away from penalties and turnovers, block well enough t open a running lane, be creative in our play calling, put Revis in man coverage on Smith, get the TE involved over the middle to open up the deeper routes, pass protect well…..OK…we’re doomed.

  2. MadMax Says:

schiano again? Ughghg!!!! When will it end…..

  3. Lev Says:

If we fire Shiano we will start winning and possibly give up a shot at Bridgewater or Mariota. This must not happen.

  4. MadMax Says:

Id rather go for Matthews or Lewan….QB’s need protection and time.

  5. Big Rob Says:

What is Schiano’s guy is really Bridgewater and he’s tanking to get him? haha I kid…. maybe…

  6. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Here’s a possible reason the Glazers won’t fire Schiano mid season:

Most of the coaching staff either come from Rutgers or are extremely loyal to him. If the Glazers fire him they could possibly have 4-6 other coaches leave as well…especially knowing they would be jobless at the end of the season.

That would be disasterous. The Dominick would be forced to fill those spots by offering replacements extended opportunities.

  7. Tim Says:

Oh no not 4-6 of the 30 some coaches, we have plenty of coaches.
I say they all need to go except for Bostad and Cox.

  8. MadMax Says:

Bonzai, the season is over….does all of that really matter?

Glazers would accomplish more by doing it and saving face, even if it meant hiring on the Fans who showed up to shridans challenge.

  9. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

You think the Bucs are a laughing stock now? Imagine what the media would say if coaches started leaving after Schiano gets fired. How would we attract a coach then?

Contrary to the beliefs of some, the season is NOT over. It isn’t even half over. I could see firing him with 3-4 games left, but not this early.

And people seem to think the team will immediately get better after firing him. That we might win more games. Don’t count on it.

The time to fire him…if they do…is at the end of the season. During the last quarter or right after the last game.

Another thing to consider is the firing of Mark Dominick in the hopes of attracting a coach/gm team. That would extend the search time and we have key players in their last year.

Doesn’t mean it is impossible. But it is something the Glazers have to consider.

“Oh no not 4-6 of the 30 some coaches, we have plenty of coaches. I say they all need to go except for Bostad and Cox.”

    That’s foolish talk.

So you are saying two guys to coach the entire team through nine games as lame duck coaches? Will never happen.

  11. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

And there are 24 coaches, not 30 :p

  12. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

And by the way..Bostad is one of the ones loyal to Schiano…and he isn’t exactly doing a good job either.

  13. MadMax Says:

At this point Bonzai, I would trust the players to coach themselves with onlt David W. to get on their butts for screwing up with stupid penalties…..

Look, maybe Im wrong, but I think the message Glazers would send by firing him (and maybe Dom too) outweighs the speculation of “Oh, dont do that, what would we ever do then”….I’ll tell you what you do, get Butch Davis’s men in here!!! I think he’s been behind a lot of this anyway (he is an advisor) 😉

Amazing how there is no word about the pop-star

  15. Buc1987 Says:

Yes I know about the 11 losses out of the last 12 games or whatever the f it is now. BUT can someone answer me this? How did this coach win 7 games last season with less talent?

  16. The_Buc_Realist Says:

    @buc1987

They had a DE Bennett actually getting sacks, and played some sub-.500 teams that the O-line was blocking so we could run the ball.

  17. Buc1987 Says:

Well Realist they played some sub .500 teams this year as well.

  18. Couch Fan Says:

I agree MadMax. Its crazy people think anyone is going to do any better behind this awful O-Line. A tackle would be a much wiser investment than a QB.
