Davin Joseph: “Like Rice And Beans”

October 3rd, 2013

Bucs captain Davin Joseph dives into why the bye week is good for the Bucs, why there’s a lot of good to pull from the first month of the season, and Joseph explains that Josh Freeman worked his tail off for the Buccaneers and that his future is bright. Joseph laments the eventual loss off Freeman, explaining that Tampa and Freeman were “like rice and beans. (Audio via 620wdae.com.)

Thanks Davin ! Sad to see Josh go , but he has a bright future !

    Good luck Josh !

  2. MadMax Says:

Glennon getting some more time to learn and watching his film…..Oh, and hopefully “whoever” Coach/Sheridan realizing playing zone with Revis on a star receiver, near games end = “failing to adjust”!!!

Theres more, but Im not wasting anymore time with this elementary Bullshjit!!

  3. bucrightoff Says:

The future is very bright for Josh. He’s got a 10+ year career ahead of him holding clipboards and making $3 million a year. Every one of us would take that.

  4. FanOfBucs Says:

Penn, Martin, Joseph, Mike Glennon, all publicly support Josh, talk about how hard he works, what a god teammate he is.

Meanwhile, he’s battling with org, who is painting him to be an uncommitted teammate.

  5. MadMax Says:

Im fine with Josh as a person, especially the last few days coming from his teammates….but where in the heck is his head during the first 3 1/2 quarters of the game? Last half of the 4th quarter (usually coming from behind), it “magically” appears he’s “ON”!!! WTF Man!????!?

  6. passthebuc Says:

An organization that should resemble “The Guiding Light”

    currently resembles

    “As our stomach turns”

  7. Eric Says:

Too bad somebody cant go slap a straight jacket on coach nut case, haul him off the premises, and get a legit professional coach for Josh.

    A win win.

Bucs get a good coach, players are delieriously happy, and coach nut case can sit in his padded room reviewing the video tape of his own players on the sideline.

  8. Tampamac Says:

Like rice and beans huh.. And the inevitable stench that follows.

  9. FLBoyInDallas Says:

How can Freeman have a bright future when he hasn’t had a bright past? Anyone expecting the light to suddenly come on for him is an outright moron. Go away and don’t come back.

  10. Red Solo Cup Says:

I come in here and start reading the comments and there is a certain segment of people who just attack other posters for their comments. Is this the norm?
Is there some sort of cabal?

  11. lightningbuc Says:

    Red Solo,

Yes, we are a cabal of Blue Solo Cup users!

  12. MadMax Says:

@Red, normally I dont attack other posters for their comments….but you have to understand the “attacks” this Raph midget has continually laid amongst the most of us who criticize (in the least) his boy crush Josh Freeman!

Plus you’re entering here in a time of chaos.

  13. Red Solo Cup Says:

after reading all the attacks I’ve decide not to give my opinion on the article, less I be accused of being a Buc fan for crying out loud.

  14. bucrightoff Says:

Red Solo you might be new here, but Raphael is well known for his (poor) trolling. He’s of the opinion that as long as Josh Freeman does “enough”, he can go 10/39 for 85 yards and 7 INTs, and its the defenses fault for everything.

  15. Red Solo Cup Says:

So the guy likes Freeman. Why does that matter to you? I liked Freeman, does that make me an awful person?

  16. MadMax Says:

No it doesnt make you an awful person for liking Freeman 😉

  17. MadMax Says:

    Does criticizing Freeman make you uncomfortable? We do that here a lot ;

  18. Red Solo Cup Says:

some of you need to grow up. This should be a place, a sanctuary for Buc fans to be able to come in and discuss a wide forray of Buc issues without being hijacked by blog pirates.

  19. Red Solo Cup Says:

evidently you don’t only criticize Freeman but anyone who likes him. that is so shallow.

  20. bucrightoff Says:

You can like Freeman all you’d like Red Solo. When you blame our defense for being 0-4, you are, how shall I put this, either a troll, or insane. Again, for the record, our offense has scored 8 points a game. Thats straight up humiliating. The QB play has been awful since the 6-4 start last year. Josh has the worst completion percentage in the league since the start of 2012 (yes, worse than Weeden and Gabbert). Raphael and those like him believe his benching was unjustified. I’m not sure what more he could have done to justify it. He simply was awful the last 9 games he played.

  21. FLBoyInDallas Says:

The quality of JBF commenters has declined dramatically over the past couple of years. No more good football insight, very little focus on the issues at hand, lots and lots of personal attacks and childish comments.

I used to comment here quite a bit a couple years back, and so did others who had good insights and interesting takes. I still see some of those names around here but it’s much less frequent and their comments are much, much shorter on average now.

I’m guessing that much like myself they’ve noticed the degradation in quality and mostly just stick to reading the articles at this point, keeping more distance from the comment section much of the time. It’s sad and thus far Joe hasn’t stepped in Schiano-style to put a stop to it. Joe’s approach seems a bit closer to Raheem, unfortunately. Giving a free hand and just allowing things to play out however they will.

I believe it would go a looooong way towards reviving comment-section respectability if Joe performed a major house cleaning, and followed that up by some Schiano-style monitoring and temperature-setting. Personally I’d join back in the mix with detailed comments once again if I saw Joe do that. I know others would, too.

Working on it. Joe hates wasting time with this stuff. –Joe

  22. Red Solo Cup Says:

he made a positive comment at the top of the page. How did that justify all the sarcastic slamming by some of the posters in here. We’re not all going to agree but without a wide variety of thoughts even if they are completely opposite of your own, we might as well be sheep. The diversity in ideals is how we learn. Just because this guy Raphael may like Freeman doesn’t deserve the wrath of the ones who don’t.

  23. SteveK Says:

Only a bunch of cowardice pu$$ies would slew their toxic shock and ignorance to one another.

We are all here for the Bucs and to talk about them, ease keep it about the Bucs.

All of this make pretend lawyer dogshit, berating one another and talkin out of your ass needs to stop.

Keep the same user name, talk about the Bucs and Bucs only or shut your damn mouth.

  24. SteveK Says:

    Red Cup,

Fair enough, per his post. The “race card” has been brought up before by that same poster.

    FLBoyinDallas,

Hope you keep commenting. I love debating all topics Bucs!

  25. Bucs1987 Says:

I’m all for talking just Bucs football. Yes I may be guilty of attacking other posters as well, but no more than I have been attacked myself.

@Joe I don’t blame you for wanting to clean the place up. Especially after the stunt tony pulled last night. Again.

  26. Chef Paul Says:

    FLBoy,

I agree. Living away from town I don’t get to talk to anybody about this team. I have only met 2 other Buc fans my entire life. One a former co-worker, another was just some random dude in a bar. I’ve never read comments on the internet before, but on JBF I thought to myself that participating in the comment section might give me some other fans insight that I haven’t thought of. All that really did was turn me into a typical poster, filled with hate and acting like a jerk. So I mainly just read them now. I won’t stop reading them, because there are still, like you said, a few fans on here with great insight. Unfortunately, also like you said it’s a small percentage that has any real quality insight.

  27. Bucs1987 Says:

Red Solo Cup …it’s been a hostile environment in here for the past 6 weeks. I have actually taken days off from coming here because of it and I post a lot. I needs to end and end soon. A major part of the reason why I want Freeman gone ASAP.

  28. SteveK Says:

Man, we better beat the Eagles and Chip Kelly, dude didn’t want to be a Buc, so let’s beat them bad!

I hope the Bucs win a game soon, all the drama that comes with losing is terrible.

We need to put this Freeman issue to bed once and for all. I think he is not our answer at QB, and all the personal hogwash is just staining our once proud franchise.

  29. Bucs1987 Says:

SteveK…lol I’m bringing another banner week 6. It’s going to say “Please Win!”

  30. Stevek Says:

    1987,

I love hearing about your fanship.

Please write on your banner: “offense score 20? Please!” and have the Mrs hold up a “play hard so you don’t have to rush the victory formation”.

We need a win in the worst kind of way. Joes’ post about the “sharks circling” could never be more true, led by Shaun King aka “Megaladon”. He has it out for the Bucs.

6 million is more money than I will probably ever see, can’t believe both SIDS (freeman and Bucs)can’t just shut up about it.

If Freeman wants his release so damn bad, than why not offer to take a 50% pay cut. Both parties “never delivered” and in Freeman’s time as a Buc we have won only 50% of our games. Why not say, ” I’m the QB, had half the impact I should of on this team, so I will take half of my reamining pay.”

6 million is a lot of dough, but IMO, both sides should have to compromise.

Freeman did failed to deliver, and the Bucs failed to develop him and present him with a better team, as the new CBA has forced ownership to give a spit and spend.

We are in a glass box of emotion.

Schiano needs to take the band aid approach with this and just end Freeman’s status with the Bucs.

I believe Schiano has been tasked with this situation.

I believe Josh Freeman didn’t take his job seriously enough, and he ultimately got passed up by lacking the amount of dedication needed to succeed in this league.

Funny how Sir Thomas of Bradee has the time to be pretty, knock up super models, and win 3/5 super bowls. cheaters or not, Braidy puts in the work. Has the drive, and wins 80% of his starts. Freeman wasn’t any more dependable than a coin flip, dropping back to pass.

Move on now Bucs, and Freeman should man up and offer to take 50% of his remaining 6 million. He fleeced us trading up in the 1st to get him, is not committed to being a champion, and has collected 20/26 million.

Are we still paying Freeman for 2010? Because that is what it feels like.

If Freeman really loves football, then he will take a pay cut, if he doesn’t, then he stays until the end of the year or trade deadline.

I challenge The Glazers and Freeman to meet down the middle and END THIS SHIT!

  31. lightningbuc Says:

^^^This isn’t SteveK either. One time it was SteveK, another time on this thread it was Stevek. And SteveK never says “End this shit”.

Sounds like Tony the Tupac Wannabe to me

  32. jb Says:

So…..what’s the final consensus here? You either berate Freeman or you’re not a real Buc fan? That really is what it seems like. Same goes if you say anything the least bit negative re: Schianopolean.

JBF is a great site to get up to the minute Buc info, but this comment section, like of others have said, is for the birds. Which species? Not sure yet, but I’m just waiting for some Falcon types to show up and really turn this place into complete s**t.

  33. BuccaneerBrutus Says:

Yep and like a delicious bowl of and rice and beans Josh Freeman is gone and it’s time for us to move on . My only question that I tried to ask and I did on a FB page for Bucs fans is Did The Bucs know Josh had ADHD before he was drafted or is this something new and if so wouldn’t it make sense for the coaching staff to know he had ADHD ? It seems that a lot of people do not understand how if could adversely affect his play on the field . So many scenarios come to mind especially when I remember that our team had two starters busted for Adderal usage !
