Too Many 31s

September 24th, 2013

Perhaps it’s the curse of Myron Lewis, who was wearing No. 31 when the Bucs finally cut him this summer, but the No. 31 is haunting the Bucs this week.

Tampa Bay is ranked 31st in points scored (11.3 per game), 31st in yards per game (282), and 31st in passing yards (175 per game). And ProFootballTalk.com’s latest power rankings have the Bucs as the 31st best team in the NFL.

Statistically, the Bucs defense is faring much better. They’re middle of the pack in the main categories, tied for third in the NFL in sacks with 12.

Sorry Joe only number thats haunting me is the 33rd best QB we have out of 32 starting QBs in the league. Thats an ugly stat right there.

  2. BigMacAttack Says:

That is so awesome. Schiano and Sullivan have accomplished so much in such a short period, they should be nominated for an BSPY.

  3. ShutTheBucUp Says:

Its safe to say at this point. We just suck. Hope it turns around, but not looking good.

Has to be in the coversation for worst Bucs offense ever considering the talent. And really 31st is dead last because Jacksonville doesn’t count this year.

  5. Couch Fan Says:

On the bright side our D is top 15 and 11th in points allowed.

  6. Ruggyup Says:

Stats are so compellingly interesting it must be an explanation for wasting space repeating the repugnant. Writers need to write, morons and baseball fans need stat consumption. Oh, what was that won/loss record again?

  7. blackmagic00 Says:

Teddy Bridgewater or AJ McCarran anybody?

  8. Couch Fan Says:

    @Bucrightoff

Doug Martin is #2 in the league right now. I think Worst Passing offense, is a more fair statement.

  9. mike Says:

how is this offense not scoreing over 24 a game????

Joe frequently refers to the Glennon mob, but there is cadre of Free homers inside the walls of OBP too. One of them is our GM and I suspect Dom has a hand in some of the media leaks. Anyone see him come out once and defended his coach?
Ya, the Glazers hired Schiano….Dom did not. One of them is destined to go packing along with Freeman. Drafting Freeman and insisting to the Glazers, that we trade up and build the team around #5 is not on Schiano.
Now, the root cause of the offensive malaise is lack of faith in Freeman. A schism.
Meanwhile, Schiano’s rigid ways and Sully’s play calling take heat for the offense, yet our special teams and defense are playing well enough to win.
Bill Pouilan or Charley Casserly anyone?

31.. Isnt that also the number of coaches we have??? 31…. the number of grams of sticky to get you through a Bucs game.

  12. GenocideD Says:

Who’s the 32nd team? We’re beating SOMEBODY! woo hoo!
