Talking Bucs; Awaiting Cuts

August 31st, 2013

In the aftermath of the Bucs’ loss to the Redskins in the preseason finale, Joe talked all things Bucs yesterday with former Bucs guard Ian Beckles on the Ron and Ian show on WDAE-AM 620.

Enjoy the Bucs chatter while Joe and Bucs fans wait for the final 53-man roster to announced this afternoon.

This comment worked better in here,

In all reality, you could say the Bucs are historically consistent, and this season should be no different than any other seasons for us fans. Every year I feel the same way as I do right now. I’m never sure what to expect at this time of year. I’ve been a Buc fan for a very long time and the franchise has been more of a roller coaster than Freeman ever has in his short career. We have been consistently bad for so long that even a team full of eight probowlers was countered by a poor preseason. Where I was excited about our chances four weeks ago I am now not so sure where we stand now. We have to be really good to just compete in our own division or be so so and end up at the bottom. I can’t definitively sit here and say I know for sure. I hope people don’t think that makes me less than a fan.

Joe, what do you think of Antoine Winfield?? I thought we’d take a run at him in FA for a bit of experience but now he’s available I’d love to see him spend a year here and think he would be a great benefit to our young CBs like Johnson, Gorrer & Banks.

    @ RBellbuc

Don’t dispair…..I have been a Buc fan from the beginning (season ticket holder 1976)….so Ii am tied for the longest Buc fan…..I know exactly how you feel…i feel the same way most every year. We just don’t know how it will be.
I can tell you this….we will be a different team with Darrelle Revis on the field and I have high expectations for our defense.
I think our offense is good enough to get the job done.
We have gotten better at least on paper & have to proove it on the field.
Look at it this way….next week we will play the “Revisless Jets” & they will play the “Myronless Bucs”…which team would you rather be?
One game at a time, buddy….one game at a time!!!

The Packer’s are waiting for the release of Dynamite Daniel Orlovski

  5. BUCSLEGENDS Says:

RBellBuc, Not at all, I feel exactly the same way. In fact you put it much better than I could have. I was so pumped a few weeks ago. Now with all this smoke and mirror “vanilla” crap (I HOPE) going on I the preseason and the way coach keeps things so in house…, Well I am worried. They say they have a plan I sure hope it works !!!!!!! 8 days and counting, I can’t wait. GO BUCS !!!!!!!

  6. 76buc76 Says:

The Saint’s will beat the Falcon’s week 1. Then the Buc’s will beat the Saint’s week 2. Then everybody will be sippin the Buc’s juice. 2-0 with the defence looking great. I’m not concerned at all with the lousy preseason. Freeman’s way to inconsistant to expect him to be as bad as he was in the preseason.

  7. 76buc76 Says:

Breaking new’s…..Buc’s in talk’s with Packer’s for Freeman. 3rd round pick on the table. Buc’s will go with dynamite Daniel Orlovski.

  8. Smitty Says:

    Tebow released:

  9. Buc1987 Says:

Tebow should head for Canada. He also would do very well in Arena FB I think.

  10. guns4roses Says:

Are we really not going to pay Tynes his salary? NFI list = no pay, right?

  11. Smitty Says:

Vince Young also released…Anyone for a QB controversy?

  12. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Tynes’ wife says the Bucs are classless for notifying him by email that he was being placed on the NFI list instead of IR. I say get rid of the guy because his wife has such a big mouth.

  13. Oldguy Says:

We must cut 22 today. Could we cut more?

  14. FLBoyInDallas Says:

A kicker who never did anything for the Bucs doesn’t deserve a face-to-face or even a phone call. Email is fine. Just go away and take your mouthy wife with you.

  15. Bucnjim Says:

I think there was a settlement where the Bucs have said they are going to pay him the full amount.

  16. Andrew 1 Says:

Tynes is on the NFI with pay. apparently the bucs had to put him on the NFI because of legal ramifications. if the bucs had put him on injured reserved it would have been an admission by the bucs that it was their fault and would have opened the door for a law suit. it looks like its all going to work out though.

  17. PRBucFan Says:

His wife needs to learn that her mouth will one day end up doing much more harm than good for Lawrence regarding his career.

  18. 1976Buc Says:

Justin Francis just cut from the Patriots. He would make a good backup DE.

  19. Raphael Says:

Tynes gets paid like $840,000 , class move by the Glazers, and his wife needs to shut her pie hole ….if she says anything she should thank the bucs

  20. 1976Buc Says:

Pats also cut Jermaine Cunningham. Another quality backup at DE.

  21. Architek Says:

The Bucs should really consider CB and DE depth help. TE is a option too but we need help badly.

    Best line ever.
