Freeman Passes Practice Microscope Test

August 6th, 2013

NFL Network, the Man Channel, sent longtime Giants center Shaun O’Hara to One Buc Palace today to study all things Josh Freeman and more at practice.

O’Hara took to the airwaves after practice and showered Freeman with positive scrutiny. Catch the full video here.

Former Saints DB Darren Sharper, the man who nicknamed Freeman “Six Flags” for his rollercoaster play, also chimes in the video and calls Freeman a franchise quarterback who just needs to minimize interceptions.

So much love for Freeman and his practice habits and production. There’s really no excuse for him to not be successful in his fifth season. The whole no-excuses nature of 2013 really has Joe jacked up for opening day.

That’s my effing man. I’m telling you fans. You have all the right to doubt, but Freeman is going to play lights out. Many Buc fans are going to be like wtf where did this guy come from? That’s why I’m so adamant about Freeman this year, because I know it. Have I cursed his name at the TV over the past 2 years? You bet your ass I have. It’s not going to happen this year. Trust me on this. Doubt for now if you like, and some have good reason. It’s all going to change real fast.

and remember BE LOUD ON SUNDAYS!!!

  2. Couch Fan Says:

I am glad Freeman is playing well in practice. This isnt anything to get super excited about though. Let’s see him carry it over into the regular season, play well and without to many up and downs and no late season melt downs and we should be good!

  3. Buc1987 Says:

I just had a funny thought. With all this Glennon vs Freeman talk on JBF I wonder what Jets blogs are like. With Sanchez vs Geno. I wonder if people battle in there too. I mean the Jets are in the middle of a QB competition in training camp and we’re not.

  4. BucoBruce Says:

Benn tore acl he is done, go DOM.

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

ShaUn O’Hara……Shaun King…..all of thes Shaun’s evaluating Freeman.
Shaun King thought we should have already signed Freeman….
Maybe he will be proven right….that would be a good shoulda, coulda, woulda…

“Shaun King, one of two Buc Quarterbacks that lost a NFC Championship Game when his defense gave up 11 or fewer points.”

    Buc1987

All that needs to be said is the jets first unoffical depth chart lists 2 starting QBs…..

I dont know why but that just cracks me up

And you all think Freeman has it bad Lol

  7. Bucky23 Says:

This is off topic Joe so feel free to delete it if you see fit and I can post it to an article in the future that relates, but I know the Bucs might not be 100 percent satisfied with their kicking situation and I think the Bucs should take a look at Havard Rugland who is currently kicking for the Lions. They don’t think he is going to make the 53 man roster because of David Akers. I have heard Havard has been extremely impressive.

i think jf5 is going to set it off this year…..a life long fan….

  9. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

Some kind words from a man that watched him in person today and knows what he is talking about. Good stuff.

  10. Buc'n Junkie Says:

Wow, finally someone with an outside fresh perspective. I totally agree with Joe’s closing statement.

    @WCBF

That was my thoughts almost verbatim!

  11. FloridaGirl Says:

His career has reflected the different systems that he’s been taught. First time ever he’s had over a year in the same system….give the guy a chance…who are you going to buy to replace him??

    Go Bucs!

  12. Buc1987 Says:

Yes I too agree with Joe’s closing argument. There is NO MORE excuses for Josh. I just don’t think any of us are going to have that problem anyway.

  13. Couch Fan Says:

In other news, Rejus Benn has been reported to of torn his ACL…. that man just can’t seem to stay healthy

  14. Buc1987 Says:

Just roll out Josh. Then move, shuck and jive back there in the pocket. Problem solved.

  15. Curmudgeon Says:

reported to *have* torn his ACL

  16. Couch Fan Says:

reported to *of* torn his ACL

  17. Buc1987 Says:

Is this 4th grade english class?

  18. Buc'n Junkie Says:

I didn’t think Benn would make it in Philly anyway. Not because I thought he’d get injured again, even though he was prone to injury. But because it seemed he lost his will to compete. It’s similar to a guy who rides motorcycles and has a near death accident, After he heals, he has two choices to make, either get back on or never get back on again. Benn’s lost his competitive edge after his 2010 ACL, and never really recovered.

  19. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Over the next 2 years even robert will start singing the praises of Josh Freeman.

  20. tmaxcon Says:

@BuccaneerBonzai – The real fun will be when Freeman is successful and we all can pile on “Free’s a boob” and the “realist”. I look forward to that day. Not that facts seem to matter to those idiots. I am convinced Free’s a boob was either rejected by freeman or cock blocked by him… Allegedly that is!

  21. Buc1987 Says:

There is no need to pile on. They have their reasons to doubt.

  22. Captain Stagger Says:

Why are half the “analysts” saying Freeman is having a great camp…and TKras is saying he looks bad and Glennon is out playing him????

    Someone is blowin smoke….

  23. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Just read on PR that the league might still suspend Bowers. Sigh…

  24. Buc1987 Says:

I forgot to add all they want like MOST of us want is the Bucs to start winning. In a way they are good for the site. You need objectors to keep balance. If this site was all about rah rah go bucs it would be boring. They helped me get through this long wait. I enjoy the battles actually. Might not be good for my ulcer, but to hell with that. It’s football season people. Fuk baseball. I was LMAO when Sapp said “I still hate baseball”. It has arrived people. Pre-season or not it’s here.

  25. Buc1987 Says:

yah Bonzai I read that too. I don’t see it happening though. I do see a possible fine though.

  26. BamBamBuc Says:

No reason to pile on anyone for their opinions when proven wrong. Whether that opinion be mine or someone else’s, there is a reason for those opinions and they should be respected. Some just shout their opinions louder, more aggressively, more frequently (or in my case just in REALLY long winded posts).

We’re all Bucs fans, we all want to see them win, and we all have just a little different view of what they need to do to win. That’s ok, no problems there. If we’re winning, whether with Freeman or Glennon, with 50 sacks or 25, with the #1 pass D or #31 (can’t see us winning with #32)…. that’s what matters. Can’t wait for the preseason to start (even though we’ll all turn into Pro Scouts and think we can grade their performance and ability to start based on games against guys that will be bagging groceries in a month, instead of the real scouts and coaches grading them on practices and meeting rooms and workouts and such). Never trust preseason numbers, that’s what I say. Just because a guy tears it up in preseason doesn’t mean he can do that in the regular season against the regular starters with full offensive and defensive playbooks in effect.

  27. tmaxcon Says:

relax folks… I was being a jerk and not being serious about piling on. Just want and hope they get to eat a big fat $hit sandwich when freeman has a good year.. I love the banter. I admit that I have had plenty of opinions that others do not agree with. I just don’t like the ALWAYS negative posters. Balance… I should have worded it differently or not posted it at all. the previous post like this post really has no value. the majority of realist and all of free’s a boob’s posts have no value and are clearly personal hatred or shots. That’s the only point I have.

  28. Buc1987 Says:

Good advice BamBam…but somehow I don’t think too many people on JBF will take it. I think you and I are the kings of long winded posts though. I try to keep it short, but it rarely happens.

  29. Buc1987 Says:

the majority of realist and all of free’s a boob’s posts have no value and are clearly personal hatred or shots. That’s the only point I have.

^^^ now there you have a point…forgot to throw in Mean D though

  30. scubog Says:

Those guys who constantly seek out anything negative about # 5 and poo poo anything positive are just playing a role.

  31. Pete 422 Says:

The Jets would love to have Freeman.
