Learning And Growing

Bucs safety Mark Barron almost seems like a rookie again. No, it’s not because he’s still learning the ropes in the NFL as he enters his second season. It’s just that it’s almost like he is playing with a new team.

Everyone around him in the secondary is new. Darrelle Revis, Dashon Goldson and likely, Johnthan Banks. Barron spoke with Joe and other reporters after practice today about how much he enjoys having two studs in the secondary joining him, Goldson and Revis.

“I am just excited to have them out there. I am excited to have their knowledge out there that can help me and can help each other. You know, last year we were last in the league [in pass defense] and that is definitely not where we want to be. It’s good to have that help and grow as a team. “I am a lot more comfortable. I am just working and trying to get better. That year of experience under my belt, I think that will help me a lot. Can’t wait to get going this season.”

Now the way the Bucs defense is currently built, Barron may be playing more up close and in the box than he did last year, sort of how Ronde Barber played last season.

On those defensive sets, Barron said he feels more at home.

“That’s what I did at Alabama, a lot,” Barron said. “I mean, I did everything [playing safety at Alabama] but I did a lot of playing in the box. I am comfortable with that so I hope that [playing the same role with the Bucs] will help the team.”

Wow Matt Ryan 20M per year. Flacco,Bree’s and Rodger’s had to win superbowl”s to get that kind of money. Ryan get it for a playoff win.

    You don’t learn to be a thumper…you are born a thumper & Barron is a big-time THUMPER!!!

Never forget the cheap @!$## flag that was thrown after that tackle on RGIII.
One of the cleanest tackles I’ve ever seen and it gets flagged because some ref wants to turn football into a pussy game. It still makes me mad to look at that photo and see everything within the rules and know that it resulted in a penalty.

I don’t know what happened to my comment so I’ll post again. That photo always upsets me because it was a perfect textbook tackle that got flagged for unnecessary roughness by some ref who wants to turn this game into a game of powder puff football. I hope Barron just keeps laying the wood because that call was just plain stupid.

I’m with you Bobby. That call still upsets me.

RG III is Michael Vick Part 2 lots of razzle dazzle and highlight plays. I’ll bet my house and 2 cars he gets re-injured again this season.

I remember that play well. Atrocious bad call. I’m already tired of seeing RG3 on TV over and over. For my money I’ll take Russel Wilson.
