Monte Thinking Big

January 7th, 2013

The supreme sources of college football-ignorantpopcorn-munchingcoffee-slurpingfried-chicken-eatingoatmeal-lovingcircle-jerkingbeer-chugging Peter King, of Sports Illustrated and NBC Sports fame, are telling him that Bucs icon Monte Kiffin, who should land in the Bucs’ Ring of Honor before he dies, is on Andy Reid’s short list to be defensive coordinator in Kansas City. ProFootballTalk.com noted the news today.

How cool would that be to see 73-year-old Kiffin patrolling the sidelines in the NFL once again?

It was thought that Kiffin, when he announced his desire to return to the NFL recently, might only be interested in a consultant/advisor position But it seems he’s looking to jump back into the coordinator role.

Joe finds it interesting that Reid would consider running Kiffin’s Tampa-2 base defense. Perhaps Reid might take a sniff of Raheem Morris, now that Raheem’s Redskins are out of the playoffs.

Damn! I’m sure Monte one one of the great defensive minds has evolved and adapted his defense as time has gone on.

    I am jealous

  2. Jose Says:

Love It!!!! Hope he does come back to be a DC.

Ring of Honor? After the gutless way he left and the Bucs lost out the season! He should be banned from Tampa.

Happily Lane continues to be a waste of space

    @FreesABoob

yes he left with 4 games left and the end of that season was HEARTBREAKING, but I can’t believe you said he should be banned for Tampa.. He was a big part in helping us win a SUPERBOWL with a strong defense, coaches for many years for our bucs, you are pathetic for saying he should be banned for tampa

    1 Word

    Legend

  6. jlynch Says:

Why would Reid look at Raheem Morris??? DC?? Had had a geat defense here right??? You really think that clown is ever going to be anything but a position coach? Didnt Bill Sheridan say most of the defensive players were out of position last year??

  7. Free's a Boob Says:

There’s a thing called loyalty to your team. In my mind Kiffin shattered that trust. It would have been different had he played out the year but he threw the Bucs under the bus to help Lane with recruiting. Yes he did great things here but he left in a classless way ala Bobby Petrino

Hold the phone Monte! Don’t make a hasty decision. Ron Jaworski says Gruden may be interested in the Eagles. Could be a reunion in the making. (No way is this happening, but one story is just as good as another)

  9. ClayBURN94 Says:

    Kiffin>>>Sheridan

  10. kh Says:

agree on the legend bit but the game has passed him by in my opinion. Would be far better suited to the consulting roles that don’t have him in the forefront.

  11. PRBucFan Says:

    Macabee that would be amazing.

    @FAB

    Blood is thicker than water

  12. Adam Says:

I wouldn’t trust Raheem to find his a$$ with both hands.

  13. Macabee Says:

    Adam,

That’s both hands tied behind his back!

Morris was thrown into a bad situation however he did help us get 10-6 his second year. He will coach again even the experts said that. It’s crazy how much I love the BUCS, but I must admit we have some of the worse fans ever lol.

  15. PRBucFan Says:

I dont think he meant looking at Rah as a DC but possibly looking at him to coach his DB’s

  16. SilenceTheCritics Says:

I find it hilarious that if someone doesnt agree with anothers opinion. That drops someone into the “bad fan” category. Lmao. Well if thats the case, Then everyone who calls anyone else a bad fan is, in my opinion, “a bad fan” themself.

Kiffin – banned from Tampa Bay

Kiffin – banned from PAC 10 by Oregon (63 pts)

Raheem did so well coaching DB’s in DC, he should have lots of offers. LOL
