Happy football day boys and girls and welcome to Bucs Super Bowl Reunion Day. Joe already saw Warren Sapp on the sidelines wearing his No. 99 jersey doing a spot for the NFL Network.
Fans here at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway are geeked for this game. The Beagles stink and the greatest Bucs team to ever take a field is back, along with Chucky.
So this will be fun. Bucs need a win or Joe will start worrying about the draft. Feel free to share your thoughts on the game.

I dont expect us to run the table. I dont expect us to make the playoffs this year and never really thought we would. But they have played much much better than I did expect which is awesome. Hopefully next year we will have a much better pass defense and will make a deep playoff push.

The offense didnt go 3 and out. Martin got a first down run on the first play of the series.
Defense is the worst passing defense in league history by a wide margin. They are better but not light years better when you have rookie QBs throwing for close to 400 yards on them.
Defense gave up 2 TDs in the last half of the 4th. Couldnt make easy INTs and gave up 2 4th downs.
But yeah, lets not blame the defense.

This is a trend. These Bucs can’t play with a lead. Freeman can only make plays when they are behind. It’s sad because the last memories of the game are of the defense trying to protect a small lead. Ev1 forgets all the failed 3rd down conversions and all the bad throws by Freeman.
Freeman needs to go, trade him away to the Raiders. Free is a loser! He only knows how to lose. Rah’s last gift to the Bucs, a QB that doesn’t care about winning.

Schiano showed some good things in his first season but he also showed some serious flaws in the way he manages a lead. He doesn’t play to win. He plays not to lose. Makes me want to punch him right in the mouth it’s so frustrating. I seriously hope he makes improvements because this is maddening for fans. I can see it coming almost every single week even before it happens because I know exactly how he’s gonna hunker down with even a one point lead.

The point about any QB is that they must develop consistency. Brad Johnson was a SB winning QB. You knew what we had and he wasn’t a question mark that would come back to bite us when we least expected it. But in a playoff mode, you can’t have a guy that is great one game and bad the next. Matt Ryan may be no better….we will see.

They had good pressure it is just our secondary is horrible. Have never seen so people running free. How do you loose a game after getting 7 sacks. I also think Bill Sheridan is not a good coordinator. Play more zone so we are number 5 or 10 against the rush maybe we can cover more people. Also do our DB’s get coached. Ever receiver has a career day against them every week. Yeh Freeman had a bad game but he didn’t turn it over and threw 2 TD’s also Martin rushed for a 128 yds. and a TD. I think we should’ve thrown more on our last drive do play action on second and make a high percentage throw. They are selling out to stop the run. Don’t the coaches realize our defense can’t stop anyone ?? We need to stop depending on our defense to stop anyone.

This defense has failed to lock down several games this year. Washington, Giants, Eagles. They tried their best to give away the Oakland game too.
Some of this is personnel, some is scheme/play calling. Whatever it is, it’s a major problem. Absolutely no excuse for losing that game.

Freeman is the worst player on the offense. Go down the list. He’s surrounded by talent.
Don’t even try to blame the playcalling, because it’s the same playcalling that gets them the wins, and it’s the same coaching that gets them prepared. Freeman isn’t an NFL starter. He can’t make all the throws. He’s inaccurate. He stares down receivers. He makes bad decisions – like throwing a checkdown 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage when there are 2 or 3 defensive players in the same area.

I’d take CB’s over a knew QB. Yes Freeman was horrible, but the defense got killed that last drive. It’s bad when they don’t even have Jackson and McCoy and they still kill our defense at the end. Even our D-line don’t be fooled. Yes they got sacks, but that was agiant a weak o-line. So many picks on defense and so much money on offense and we always lose by a score or less. Defense plays good at first/ offense can’t do anything. Offense starts getting us back in the game and ahead/ defense gives the game up at end. One time please bucs play good on both sides of the ball threw out the whole game.

still have won more games this year than we did last, and still have some games to go. definitely not going to the playoffs unless something miraculous happens. there have been no blowouts this year, only close losses. were a few cornerbacks away from being a superbowl contender. just have to keep at it.

Guys, quarterbacks like Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Manning, and Big Ben would’ve carved up that Eagles defense! But no……Freeman didn’t. He’s never going to be in the same tier as those quarterbacks.

Ok put it this way… if the game was on the line, our defense had to make a final stand against any team you want to throw out there… would you have faith in them getting it done? I wouldn’t. Maybe you misunderstood what I was trying to say or maybe I wasnt clear enough. But this defense isnt going to stop anyone 9 times out of 10.

I thought the purpose of signing Jackson, Dallas, was free’s last chance to play well? no more excuses? have we come to our senses yet? the inconsistent play is torture. Jackson is doing his part, Dallas is when he has the opportunity, doggie is doing his thing and free is still not consistent.

Only 5 QBs with more TDs. Only 6 with less INTs(relative to attempts). Only 11 with more yards. The area that hurts him is completions this year.
Not bad at all. Certainly not bad enough to warrant drafting a QB in the first hor heaven’s sake lol

This is very much the same team that lost 12 games last year. With six wins this year, we are doing much better.
How about that pass rush today? It was awesome but the coverage still was lacking. CBs are needed badly. Certainly more than a new QB lmao

Holding call on Larsen. Stops the clock and kills drive. Sh***y punt gives them good feild position. Saves them time. To many men on the feild. Followed by defensive holding. Saves them time and gives them free yards. We drop and interception. Any one of those things don’t happen Bucs win.

@Patrick – Freeman may never be elite, but is that a reason to drop him? If we are to drop players for not being elite, we might as well fire the entire OL and DB corp and most of our LBs.

I agree with that Have. We have to let Free play out his final year of his rookie contract before making a decision on him. This offseason we need to upgrade our D and give Free one more year to see if he can fix his problems. I hope he can but I dont think he will. I’ve never really seen a QB play so inconsistant for so long before. Rookies yes, 2nd year players sure. But now into his 4th season and his horrible inaccurate all through out the game is a major cause of concern.

Fun reading today. Was Freeman good today? No. But he had us up 11 points with like 6 minutes left in the game. He had us in position to win. So im not sure what else he could do. Everyone’s taking shots at Freeman. Then everyone complains when they run on 3rd and 7. If we would have passed and had a incomplete Id hate to see what some of you guys would be saying.
For me im not sure how you can blame anyone but the Defense on this. The Dline played really good today. But like always the Dbacks cant cover anyone to save their lives. I think everyone knew it was coming when we didnt convert that 3rd and 7.

i wonder what happened to freeman compared to 2010. he is not running freely. he is much better than last year. he is our best chance to win now.

Guys, I don’t hate or dislike Freeman by any means…….but I just don’t know what to think of him. For 4 straight weeks, he played lights out. But for 2 weeks he’s reverted back to 2011 Freeman, and he can’t ever beat teams with winning records. He’s still not accurate and he doesn’t ever build us a big lead and seems to play best only when we’re trailing. One week I’m his biggest fan, the next week he disappoints me greatly.
He just had a terrible day against one of the worst defenses in the NFL and a team that’s in total disarray. As a fan, that’s a huge red flag!

Because I wasn’t really meaning NEVER just 99% of the time they wont stop anyone. Sure they will make a stand every once in a blue moon but if you expect them to do it on a consistant basis you are fooling yourself. @Silence – He is still a baby. Heck, he is younger than Tannehill who was just drafted lol Even with all the time in the league, he is still a kid. I see what he has been able to do so far as pretty darn awesome.
The accuracy and inconsistency is maddening though.

I agree have which is why I said they have to give him at least another year before deciding on his future. But if he continues to play 1 quarter of good football next year. What do you do? It would be insane to give him a chunk of money if he continues to perform the way he has and doesnt fix his accuracy and inconsistancy issues.
