Working To Get Healthy By Week 1

August 23rd, 2012

Training camp may have ended last week but with the joint practices with the Patriots this week, it’s almost an extended training camp.

Eric Wright, the Bucs’ new high-priced cornerback, has been slowed by a variety of ailments. When he has been healthy, Wright has shined and provided ample evidence of why Team Glazer backed up the Brinks truck to acquire him.

Wright waved off his bumps and bruises, saying it is to be expected this time of the year.

“Nobody is healthy in training camp, everybody is tired,’ Wright said. “That’s part of camp. Everybody is hurting during training camp so no one is healthy 100 percent. Every time I am out there, I try to play as hard as I can and get the defense down and handle my responsibilities.”

While the Bucs are trying to prepare for Week 1 of the regular season, part of that is getting your body prepared for the rigors of the regular season, Wright said.

“Part of camp is working toward that goal of [being healthy] and being ready and prepared for the first game,” Wright said. “I’m sure we will get some time to shake back a little bit and maybe get a little rest and a little active recovery to be ready for that first game.”

If he didn’t twitter so much he wouldn’t be getting dinged up!!! My gosh…social media is killing us!!!!! Look what it did to McCoy the last couple of years. By the way, have I mentioned yet that Dom is truly a Rock Star of the highest magnitude???? Well, he is.

LOL, now you are just being silly.

GMC needs to step up. Stats, not disruption. He is earning the easiest $11,000,000.00 in the NFL.

He can tweet zero-1 million times, and it doesn’t matter. I just hope he doesn’t get carpal tunnel to go with his weak biceps.

Dom is not a “Rock Star”, he is more of a “glorified errand boy” (-Thomas2.2).

  3. Stevek Says:

10 game losing streak, and still finding time to tweet.

We need to get our priorities right, win and then tweet about it. Lose, go practice so you can win.

  4. Bobby Says:

This is fun! It’s kind of like ‘fishing for stupid’ and you use GMC or Dom for bait. Let me go to another article and cast again……

  5. Stevek Says:

    Hook, line and sinker!!!

That is what happens when start talking crazy speak:

“GMC is a super star, and he is really good”, or “Dom is truly a Rock Star”.

I am glad that GMC is a Twitter All-Pro, and that Dom is really good at being popular. How does that help the Bucs win games?

    Sit Wright until the opener.

Let Gaitor/Lewis/Joe Schmo battle it out for depth chart privileges.

  10. John McKay Says:

    I like pie.

  11. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

Personally I’m withholding judgement of most players until the real games are being played.

I’ll bet that if the Bucs go on a winning streak, Raheem will try to get some credit for it.

    Very true

  13. SteveK Says:

    @ Pete,

Lol, that would be great! Hope we can get on a streak and hear RA.

  14. Santos Says:

Saw an spoke to gmc, okam and madu at the barbershop, okam looks good, said he is at 250 and eating healthy, McCoy introduced him to green iguanas turkey burgers, also gmc does not care for joebucsfan, doesn’t understand why he bashes him an then tries to interview him lol

    I’m deaf serious btw

  15. Northend Says:

This was a Eric Wright thread right?

  16. Orlandobucsfan Says:

Watching the “Monday” night game titans vs cardinals is it just me or is it weird that differ is analyzing auarterbacks and critiquing them talking about the secret sauce of quarterbacks and analyzing quarterbacks when I’m pretty sure he is the reason we don’t have more superbowls with our defense we had.

  17. bucobruce Says:

    Agreed orlando, damn you dilfer!!

    go bucs super bowl!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Santos Says:

Dilfer to me is an excellent analyst….hated him when he was our qb tho lol…but i enjoy listening to him break it down and his qb camp too.

  19. lurker Says:

dilfer breaking down qb’s makes much more sense than gruden, and does a better job!

  20. Mike J Says:

Santos, Okam said he was at 250?
