Strength Now A Question

August 24th, 2012

It appears the Bucs offensive line is not nearly as strong with the apparent loss of right guard Davin Joseph.

What was a strength for the Bucs is now a question mark.

With Davin Joseph leaving the game on a cart late in the first half, it means the All Pro guard is lost, perhaps for the season. Joe is not going to guess on injuries (remember how awful LeGarrette Blount’s injury looked last week?) but indications are Joseph has a major injury.

When Ted Larsen came in he did his best Jeremy Truebood imitation with back-to-back false starts. That’s just not having your head in the game.

Even before Joseph went down, the right side of the line wasn’t opening up much room for Doug Martin and later, Blount.

That, however, doesn’t mean Martin and Blount weren’t getting some runs in. Early in the game, Martin was tried time and again on the right side, only to be met by a blue wall. Vince Wolfork had his way. When Martin’s number was called to the left side, he gained ground, chunks of it in fact.

Now the right side of the line is a major concern. Good thing there will be a glut of players hitting the market in the coming days.

Remember, that’s how Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik picked up Donald Penn.

Hopefully davin Joseph is not seriously injured

We have the worst luck of any team in the league!

The injuries are becoming unbelievable. We have the worst luck of any team in the league.

Someone cursed Tampa, we need a spell breaker. I hope we can find a stud guard castoff somewhere.
It is a darn shame, Tampa was gonna have one of the best lines in the NFL, till this crap.

If we can find some guard that can play mediocre ball for us (big if), we wont miss Joseph what so ever.

I heard a well known Tampa sports guy twittered Joseph is going on injured reserve on a Bucs forum. Sorry, I don’t recall the name of the person who Twittered this. I will go and find out

Looks McCoy, Price, and Bowers are all not gonna workout.

Bowers has having the same EXACT problems that everyone was warned about coming into the draft in 2011.

McCoy is on injury #3. The one tonight doesn’t look good at all.

    Price is gone.

Clayborn is the only one of them that has pleased us.

  8. Kyle Says:

What makes me mad is people are going to start saying crap about McCoy when the hit that took him out was dirty. No amount of prep can get you ready for something like that

Here is what was posted on that Bucs Forum.
“Joseph I think is toast. Holder tweeted the Bucs are already talking IR.”
So, it was Holder who tweeted that Davin Joseph is heading to IR.

What? Since when were people worried about Bower’s achilles? It was his knee they were worried about. The two are unrelated.

“Early in the game, Martin was tried time and again on the right side, only to be met by a blue wall”. That is because Joseph and Trueblood have been terrible run blockers lately. Zuttah was also getting handled by Wilfork regularly.

I must have missed the part when I learned that the Achilles is connected to the knee??????? This damn Hawaii education I received sucks!!!

“Zuttah was also getting handled by Wilfork regularly.”

That tends to happen with the best NT in the league.

  14. Have A Nice Day Says:

@Hawaiian No kidding. Wilfork has at least 60lbs on Zuttah to go along with a history of dominance. I almost felt bad for him.

  15. FLBoyInDallas Says:

He obviously wasn’t handling Zuttah well enough to get to the QB, because Freeman had WAY more time in the pocket than Brady. All night long. We manhandled the Pats center a hell of a lot more than they did ours. Did some of you even watch the game?
