Glazer Talks “Core Beliefs” and “Lip Service”

March 27th, 2012

Team Glazer talked to beat scribes at the NFL owners meetings this afternoon and early nuggets are trickling out.

Tampa Tribune scribe eye-RAH! Kaufman brings word from Joel Glazer that Greg Schiano will bring a different standard than previous regimes.

“He talks about Buccaneers men and what they should stand for,” Glazer said. “That’s not going to be just lip service for him – that’s going to be real and meaningful. He has core beliefs that he feels strongly about and over time, people will understand those and appreciate that our players will, too.”

Boy that take sure felt like a shot at past head coaches. (And for the record Joe loves the old school term “lip service,” a favorite of Joe’s dad.)

Definitely click on through the link above. Glazer mentions that a clean slate is in place for the roster, among other choice bits.

Lol!!! That seems a bit below the belt since the King of Lip Service is no longer in Tampa….

Quite the stab at Raheem, really makes me wonder just what the heck was going on in his locker room for the owners to take a swipe at you!

Glazers also mentioned a spike in season ticket sales/renewals, good news! Joe, do the number crunchers in the bowels of One Buc ever give you details about ticket sales?

I’m actually liking what I’ m hearing and seeing. Dungy and Schiano were not the first choices but they both emphasized character and accountability. We need to bring in the new Brooks, Lynch and Dunn and get rid of Talib, K2 and whatever other cancers remain. I have full confidence the new culture will correct a lot of the past. Respect and competence will be returning to One Buc Place. Finally there is hope again. I have a feeling this coaching staff will get and demand much more out of its players.

I think I used the line numerous times that RahRah was all lip service.

Is this the Glazer kids borrowing from 2.2? I always thought that the Glazers monitored JBF.

To think about all of the men who have now come out and joined me in the criticism of the comical RahRah regime – from the Glazers, to players (gmc), to beat writers, to national media – and how so many of you argued emotionally against me that the org was heading in the right direction under RahRah makes me think about where would be if you all prevailed.

That is why you can’t be fanatical when your franchise is being systematically dismantled.

All of this b.s. From ownership About: we intentionally tried to go 17-31 under a joke of a head coach while we allowed our young players to mature so we could hire a real coach now and form a legit roster ….is just that, b.s.

In 2009 and 2010, the Bucs played hard under Raheem. Not necessarily well, but hard. That is the primary reason I supported him. 2011 was clearly a big turning point in his ability to motivate players to give it their all and that is exactly why the fan base unanimously turned on him. It had nothing to do with you.

  6. Capt. Tim Says:

    Lmao at Thomas
” to the millions of men and women, around the world, who have now joined me in my vendetta/ crusade against Raheem Morris. A man who had the 4th best record in Buccaneer history! A man, who in only 3 brief years, managed a record only achieved 6 times- in the 37 year history of this team- he managed a 10 win season. He did it with the lowest payroll in the league. He did it with the youngest team in the league!

He joined the Buc immortals- MacKay, Dungy, Gruden! The only four to do accomplish this seldom seen miracle.
And unlike the rest- who had high paid Veteran teams- Raheem did it with less money than ANY OTHER COACH in the league. They wouldn’t even let the poor man hire a DC! Forcing the man to do two jobs!

Yet- where any other man might have failed- Raheem succeeded, in record, epic fashion!
    Amen!! Brother!! Amen!!!!

And his reward?? The bastards cut his league low Payrole EVEN LOWER!! DAMN!!
Depriving him of his offensive and Defensive Captains!!

No man could have endured this final, humiliating slap!

He was finally put out of his misery- fired, by the true villians of this tale.
A man who refused to sign players for him, and a man who refused to spend money on his team.

And, just when this gallant Coach’s suffering should be at an end

He has to listen to crap from some whinnie lil P.O.S poster on JoeBuc, named Thomas- who cries about this heroes brilliant attempts.
As if Thomas as ever won anything!!!

    And

    @Thomas
The only b.s. I can see is you thinking someone reallly gives a damn about your opinion, as if you’re some important sports beat writer; let alone the owners of the franchise.
Get over yourself, you’re beyond absurd.
Your opinions are not always hogwash, but that might be the dumbest post i’ve ever read on this site; and that’s a saying a lot.
    No offense, Joe.

  8. Capt. Tim Says:

Damn( sniffle), that was so sad, it almost brought a tear ta my eye!
Thomas- you are a heartless bastard!! Lol!
