Raheem Showers Earnest Graham With Love

September 19th, 2011

It’s safe to say Raheem Morris and Shaun King are on different pages when it comes to Earnest Graham.

This afternoon, King said he doesn’t want to see Graham on third down, but hours later on The Raheem Morris Show on WDAE-AM 620, Raheem called Graham a big-time stud.

“Earnest Graham, just to touch on him again, he is situational football at its finest,” Graham said. “You know, he knows situations. He knows what he wants to do. He’s got the trust factor to go out there and execute anything in the gameplan. He’s a phenomenal football player and I’m glad we have him.”

For a while during the preseason, Joe thought Raheem was falling deep into Chucky mode, meaning he loved everyone on his roster and everything about said players. But Raheem snapped out of that and back into his trademark real-talk mode after opening day. (Thank goodness.) So it’s clear he’s high on Graham and isn’t just blowing smoke.

Joe knows the Bucs aren’t going to faze out Graham anytime soon. And they shouldn’t, especially if they’re going to rightfully pound LeGarrette Blount early and often.

I was just about to write how well caddy was lookin. Ahwhoops. Brain fart. Still rockin his jersey tho. What can i say. I still got love for the dude.

Caddy looked mediocre in the Rams Giants game on MNF including a costly dropped lateral. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing to let him go afterall.

I love Graham. I think he has been misused his entire career but…I think its too late.

The Bucs are finally using this guy in the role that he should have played 4 years ago. He would have made a fantastic 3rd down back. I still think he will be serviceable for us this year but its about time they invest in some backfield help.

Lorig surprised the hell out of me against Minnesota but I still think they need to find a legit fullback and get a damn good HB to compliment Blount.

Dominik loves to talk about “protecting Freeman” and there’s not much more he can do for the kid at this point except get him a really nasty ground and pound combo.

A converted DE and an over the hill RB is not the answer.

Sigh, who cares how Caddy looked with Rams, he looked good as a 3rd down back with us last season and that is all that matters. Graham in comparison is really bad, he is making Caddy look like Tiki Barber in his prime.

  5. bucfanjeff Says:

I think leaving Blount in on 3rd down helps us a lot. Graham scares nobody.

  6. flmike Says:

Okay, I think last night was enough of an explanation as to why Caddy is no longer here, 13 carries for 36 yrds thats 2.8 yds per, dropped lateral returned for a TD, he missed more than a few blocks that I saw and I turned off that crap at half-time, the Giants look horrible, is it possible Eli is regressing, he looks like a deer in the headlights, he is truly horrible.

  7. tony2cents Says:

I hope the coaches continue to give Blount some practice reps in 3rd down situations. We’re just a completely different team when he’s in there vs graham.

i damn near fell out of my chair. you chuckle heads ALWAYS seem to surprise me. does anyone even watch football around here?

I agree. Even if he is not the BEST blocker or pass catcher… taking him out makes us one dimensional. You almost already know its gonna be a pass. The few plays where they left LGB on the field for a passing down/play action pass, WORKED! i seen the D bite every time on play action. So even if it is as a decoy. I say keep him in there. Or mix it up more and have running plays with the other Backs like graham and lumpkin.

Sorry raheem can’t agree with you less on this one. At this point in grahams career he’s a subpar player IMO. No moves no creativity, painfully slow. Do you see how hard he has to work on one of those dropoff passes to just get 3-4 yards. Maybe 3-4 years ago graham would of been great. But just let blount grow into the 3rd down position because he’s gonna help alot more then he’s gonna hurt us at this point. Hes a threat which graham is not. And just tell him to wreck whoever he sees coming at freeman first.

@loweredexpectations: I know you will now spin my post as if I meant Caddy is as good as Tiki Barber in his prime. Your kind of dumbasses always make me laugh.

    are we done, sir?

did i really even need to point this out? i guess so.

  13. Jonny Says:

@loweredexpectations: Thanks for quoting both my posts and still not getting it. Might want to improve your reading comprehension skills, or never mind, you amuse me the way you are. Enjoy you stay on the “Graham is a good player, because he is a good human being” bandwagon. I will remain a Bucs fan.

hmm, didn’t know i mentioned that. but go ahead and put words into my mouth, it seems to be your only defense.

i’m betting you have NEVER PLAYED a down of football. just a hunch.

graham only made one error in the ball game (giving up a sack) and gained positive yards on EVERY PLAY HE TOUCHED THE BALL!!!! watch the tape, FILM DON’T LIE!
