  1. Bobby Says:

The facts are there, I can’t disagree with the assessment i dont see the bucs winning this game. Suh will dominate the bucs o-line and they are going to be able to handle the Bucs running game. Still should be a decent game, but the Bucs lose by 10.

  2. Capt.Tim Says:

Hardman played Suh last year- and Suh didn’t do squat. Nothing. He’s not the biggest worry. That would be Calvin Johnson. I don’t know if we have anyone who can cover him. Detroit has a weak secondary. Josh should feast/- if our line can hold up. They gave lots of talented linemen besides Suh, and our starting line is weak, other than Penn.

I see Tampa winning this game, and Clayborn sitting Stafford on his head.
    Bucs 28-17

  3. Buddhaboy Says:

nobody really knows what the heck is going to happen, and it is so funny having prognosticators doing what they do. first game of the season is a crap shoot. Lets just hope the lions get worn down by the heat….

  4. Buddhaboy Says:

BIGGEST MISTAKE BUCS MADE WAS NOT GOING AFTER SPROLES. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULDNT WANT DARREN SPROLES TO COMPLIMENT BLOUNT…THE BUCS HAD THE MONEY AND SAT ON THEIR HANDS…WE NEEDED A PLAYMAKER LIKE THAT TO BE ELITE…

  5. Architek Says:

Good ol’ Kirwan is back at it again (Joe’s_Protege’)

  6. Buc N' A Says:

Who really cares what the “experts” say? This game is gonna be tight regardless of who wins. It’s a REALLY tough game to gauge when you put emotion aside. Both teams are on the rise and both have loads of young talent. Obviously I’m pulling for the Bucs, but it’s just good to have football back. Bucs home/season opener. Priceless. Sadly it’s not a packed house. : ( Oh well. I’ll be there! Go Bucs!

  7. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Hey Bobby, how’d your boy Suh do last year against the Bucs, against our back up rookie guard Hardman? Did he “dominate” the o-line? Eh?

With a fully healthy o-line and a chip on their shoulders I don’t see Suh doing any better than he did last year. He especially won’t “dominate”. Get a clue.

  8. Dan Says:

elite teams that dont have a sproles type character: packers, steelers, ravens, giants, colts,

get over yourself and your demands for a gimmick.

  9. Karl Says:

Bucs gotta win this in my opinion.
Already people say the Lions improved so much….why? because they won there last 3 games last year?
They were given the win against us.We won our last 2 (actually 3) games beating the (Lions) Seahawks….. we Killed the Seahawks!!! than we beat the Saints in New Orleans after they Killed us at home earlier in the year.
Both Seahawks & Saints were play-off teams.
Why? Because the Lions won there 4 Pre-Season games? Pre-Season means NOTHING…..Remember the Lions went 4-0 in Pre-Season and than went 0-16 that year.It means nothing.

People think the Bucs O line didn’t play well in Pre-Season…We had 2 Pro Bowl Alts last year and another Pro bowler in D Joseph. Our back ups came in and played great last year including shutting down Suh.They will be fine.
People think Freeman looked inaccurate in “Pre-Season” Freeman didn’t throw ONE SNAP in Pre-Season last year and had a hurt thumb and came out and had the 2nd best TD to INT ratio next to T Brady.
We won 10 games and the Lions won 5 games. One which was pretty much a gimme from the NFL (The Bucs game) and another (the Browns game) that i think B Culpepper would say the Lions shouldn’t have won according to how Brad doesn’t count some wins.

Remember the Browns called a time out when the Lions were in there end zone which gave time for Stafford to come back in after his injury and throw a TD pass to win the game.
I think the Bucs showed more improvement than the Lions at the end of last year. The Lions are over hyped and if the Bucs lose it will make me sick.
    GO BUCS!!!

  10. Buc N' A Says:

I like where your heads at Karl. Time to tame us some Lions.

  11. BUCSorDIE!!! Says:

OK I wonder since Calvin Johnson is Megatron and he’s going to battle Talib this Sunday then maybe we should call Talib Optimus Prime especially if he controls that battle! Bucs all day!

  12. BigMacAttack Says:

Pat Kirwan picks the Bucs to lose. Now there’s a real surprise. He picked the Bucs to lose in every single match up last season. He said the Bucs had to keep there best player, Barrett Ruud. Pat Kirwan is an idiot and I don’t care what his background is. The guy sucks.

BTW, Suh is not the best DT in the league. The Bucs owned Suh last year. BJ Raji & Vince Wilfork are both better. Suh plays dirty but says he doesn’t and I’d look for the Bucs to take a couple cheap shots at Suh, primarily Davin Joseph on a high low to take him down a notch or two.

This should be a very good game, but the Bucs need to start fast and finish strong. I hope Raheem studies the Packer film last night on “How To” dismantle the Saints defense. The Packers offense was scary good.

  13. Jrock Says:

    @Dan

Yeah, who needs some Gimmick that got 250 yards of offense for their team vs the super bowl champs. That would be such a wasted investment

  14. Capt.Tim Says:

Listen, I whined for players I wanted to see here, Too. But the Bottom line is this- this is a young, exciting team that won 10 games. Period. They are building it their way. If they keep winning, then obviously they know more than us, and we should shut up about what players they “gotta have”. If we really knew what we were talking about, we’d be making big money as A GM.

So what I’m saying is this- as long as the keep winning and getting better, then we accept that they know what they are doing. Until the team takes a major Blackslide, we trust them. If the backslide occurs, THEN we all play GM.

Otherwise, they’ll go deep in the playoffs, just to make us look bad!! LoL

  15. McBuc Says:

    Weclome back Capt Tim!

  16. Dan Says:

@jrock. and lost, and takes touches from legarrete blount and had fewer yards per carry. hes basically a punt returner. on our team.

  17. Jrock Says:

    @Both of you

I fail to see how his team losing has anything to do with him racking up 250 all purpose yards. I’ll play devils advocate here, and in doing so all I am saying is that we have a pile of money to spend and still have unproven players playing in key roles.

I went to a bar to watch the game, and the big consensus there about the Bucs being blacked out is that there’s no recognizable names on the roster. I know all of them, but the average joe doesn’t.

If we get 9+ wins this year with our current unit, I will happily stick my foot in my mouth. But if we all watch other players make HUGE impact in games that we could have easily had on our team, and we struggle… then maybe they’ll hire me on as an assistant to Mark.

  18. McBuc Says:

I would rather save the cash for our young up and coming guys. If a bunch of people that went to a bar to watch Thursday night football in Tampa do not know who Mike Williams, Blount, or Freeman are…well…I am not sure what to say. Did you go to that god awful Packer bar in Largo? That being said…GO PACK GO! One in the L column for NO.

I will give you this, Sprole looks scary at times. TYhe Pack has a damn good defense as well. I was surprised at how well both teams moved the ball last night.

  19. 2 Buc Bill Says:

the problem with not getting sproles is he went to a division rival. would’ve been worth the $ to keep him away from the ‘aints. i support the team, but the owners are cheap as hell. the bottom line is we came in 3rd place in our division last year, and the two teams ahead got better…we didn’t. hard to argue against that.

  20. BigMacAttack Says:

Sprolie did well on some plays, no doubt, but there were also a few plays where 300 pounders picked him up and threw him down like a rag doll. He is an upgrade from Reggie Bush but I doubt he’ll make a whole season on the Saints. Their backs always get hurt and are so often exposed to big hits. Payton is an idiot and still lets his ego get the best of him. I hate the Saints.

  21. BigMacAttack Says:

Yeah, I guess Clayborn, Bowers, Koenen won’t make this team any better.
