Lay Off Stylez!

July 28th, 2011

The asinine lockout has had many repercussions, among them, a wild, wild west like flurry of activity to get a 90-man roster in such a short window of time.

As a result, teams’ front offices are crammed for time, working round the clock.

This may partially explain why free agent defensive end Stylez White has not had a call from the Bucs. With the angst of not knowing where he may be playing this season, if he is playing this season, White’s patience reached its limit last night as he snapped at fans on Facebook.

SO WE KNOW, I AM A FREE AGENT. AS SOON I KNOW YOU WILL KNOW. I PROMISE… OK? SO STOP ASKING.. THANKS 🙂

Currently, Stylez is at his home in Ohio and lamented on Twitter about how there wasn’t a Popeye’s Fried Chicken within an easy driving distance.

So Stylez sits at home, waiting for the phone to ring, hoping he is still a Bucs defensive end much less an NFL defensive end.

Correction: It was Geno Hayes Twittering about a Popeye’s craving, not Stylez, who responded to Hayes and soon after Twittered he was feasting at Red Robin. … Joe now has cravings for both.

in other words…. lets see how many seemingly concerned messages we can send his facebook account wondering if he is going to sign with the bucs? sounds like a plan.

  2. Dave Says:

Mr. White…. we like you but you are at best a backup… or at least should be.

My suggestion is stop looking at twitter and facebook until you know what is happening.

  3. Mauha Deeb Says:

No Popeye’s Chicken near him? Heaven have mercy! I would lose my mind.

  4. Ash Says:

Tweets about Popeyes and eariler in the off season about how its hard to get motivated to workout by yourself. Could care less if his 4 sacks a year ass gets resigned.

  5. BigMacAttack Says:

I do feel bad for Stylez because he may be on the outs. Having started his career at BestBuy and the arena league, he was able to have several decent years in the NFL. I hope he saved his money so that he doesn’t end up where he started. He might be a good radio personality and the name Stylez works well for that gig.

  6. Atrain WD40 Says:

I met Stylez a couple of times and he was good kind hearted man, I wish him the best either way. Good luck Man!

  7. Patrick Says:

Be nice to have Stylez back in a backup role, but it won’t really bother me if they let him walk.

Are the Bucs going to make any moves today in free agency or are they just gonna blow it off once again?! Sorry, but our team needs upgrading in a LOT of areas still. We need a couple of linebackers (especially if Ruud isn’t back), another D lineman, and a cornerback possibly.

  8. Max Says:

That was Geno Hayes talking about Popeye’s not being near the suburbs not Stylez. I’m sure they’re all the same to you though Joe.

  9. JK Says:

I just read on Twitter that Da’Quan Bowers was given Stylez’s old number….

  10. Mauha Deeb Says:

@Max “I’m sure they’re all the same to you though Joe.”

What kind of nasty insinuation is that!?

  11. Nick2 Says:

My only concern is that now Dom is going to overpay the players we have rather than look at players in free agency who would have more value. Quincy Blacks contract caught me by surprise. I mean this guy has not been a superstar but Dan Sileo on the way in this morning said he is going to get paid more than James Harrison of the Steelers. Really??? Quincy Black?? Hmmmmm….. Sometimes you can have bad deals for your own employees and I don’t think Quincy Black has shown me enough to plop down $21 million guaranteed money. This money should go towards Legarratte Blount or Mike Williams or more importantly Josh Freeman. Those guys showed me last year what they are capable of some awesome production Quincy Black has not!!!!

  12. Mauha Deeb Says:

@Nick2 You don’t have to worry about $21 million in guaranteed. He is only getting $11.5 million. And why does the guaranteed money worry you? If he under performs and the team releases him that money comes straight out of the Glazer’s pockets, not the team’s cap.

  13. McBuc Says:

Mr Deeb…You are on the money today with all of your posts.

  14. Mauha Deeb Says:

@McBuc Especially the Popeye’s Chicken post lol

  15. Pat Says:

Not sure why the Popeye’s crack was nessacary.

  16. admin Says:

    Joe here,

@Max C’mon, dude. Very uncool. Regardless, you are right about the Tweet, Styles was retweeting Geno Hayes and commenting that he was at Red Robin. Joe is going to correct now.

  17. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Joe…ever been to Ya Ya’s chicken? Blows Popeye’s out of the water. All day every day.
