“They Got No Choice But To Get Better”

December 24th, 2010
What is Frank Okam looking at?

What is Frank Okam looking at?

There are no defensive tackles under the tree.

Raheem Morris will keep on rolling with Al Woods and Frank Okam learning on the job.

These men must step up and improve not just to win Sunday but, hopefully, to prepare for the game of their young careers in New Orleans on Jan. 2.

At his news conference today, Raheem said he expects improvement from his former practice squad guys that no mortal expected to be attempting to plug the middle for the Bucs.

“They got no choice but to get better,” Raheem said. “You’re talking about a bunch of guys who went from really doing two reps in practice or three reps in practice a day to going out there and getting 40 reps in a game. We’ll see improvement with just those guys practicing and playing and preparing every day.”

It’s nearly Christmas and Joe’s going to drink the pewter and red egg nog for a couple of days. Yes, they have to get better. They should get better. Perhaps they are better already. Maybe Gerald McCoy can talk to God again and put in a good word for them.

I’m thinking this is the game that McCoy will finally step up and turn the corner for us.

  2. Patrick Says:

No duh of course they’re supposed to get better.

    What?

  4. BigMacAttack Says:

Yes, talking to God is a good thing. Maybe GMC can ask for few make-up calls from the Zebras in New Orleans as well.

  5. Mr. Lucky Says:

what happened to having Bennett in the middle?

No choice but to get better?

Darn I remember doing a lot thinking like that last year when the Bucs were 0-7…..

  7. Gatorbuc15 Says:

Well Raheem’s right about that they gotta get better, if they don’t we’re screwed. Hell we may already be screwed.

  8. Rob Says:

Nice caption on the picture Joe.

  9. Rican Says:

It’s called praying, it’s really not that unheard of bud. You should try it sometimes considering it’s the only way of really maintaining a true relationship with God. Way to try and stir that kettle though, nice tactic.

I will be at Tampa Stadium Sunday, and expect the Buc’s to put the smackdown on Seattle.
Seattle is a weak team, from a weak division. The Lions are actually not all that bad of a team, and loaded with years of first round talent.

  11. The White Tiger Says:

I’m thinking that coach Morris needs to be gagged during offensive plays.

Especially if he thinks Frank Okam is going to get better simply because coach Raheem “needs” it to be so…(?)

I had better see an OFFENSE that balances deep passing with power running by LaGarrette Blount – ALL THE WAY TO THE FREAKING END-ZONE!!!

Anything APPROACHING what I saw last week won’t be tolerated. The game plan for the rest of the year should be “Anti-Dungy ball” keep the offense pounding and scoring at every opportunity so we can keep our DEFENSE off the field!
