we need the falcons to win tommorow. If atlanta beats the saints and then we beat the saints we are in. Based on the strength of victory over the giants

    josh,

If the Saints lose tomorrow, and again to the Bucs in week 17…. we still need help. Either the Packers or Giants have to lose. We don’t win strength of victory against the Giants, I don’t even think it goes as far as strength of victory with the Giants. If they beat the Skins, they’ll beat us in the “common opponent” tie break first.

So, we need the Pack or Giants to lose next week, but we have to take care of business first. The biggest long shot of this whole equation is us beating the Saints. The Saints still haven’t even locked up a playoff spot, and with a loss to the Falcons will be “on the edge of elimination”. If they lose to us, and the Packers win, the Saints are out. They’ll still have plenty to play for (the Saints). Finding a way to win that game would be accomplishing the “near impossible” for a young, injured Bucs team. Still, it keeps it exciting, and I’m loving every second of it… even if the odds are against us.

A Saints win tomorrow wouldn’t eliminate the Bucs. However, it makes it even harder for the Bucs to get into the playoffs. The Bucs would of course have to beat the Saints, plus BOTH the Giants and Packers would have to lose.

We obviously want the Saints to lose, but if they were to win against the Falcons tomorrow and clinch a playoff spot, is it possible they would sit their starters next week?

    Question for anyone….

Where was Stylez White today? He was listed as a substitute (Bennett and Crowder started), and he had no stats at all. The D played pretty good out there today, even without Stylez contributing. We all knew DE is a major off-season need. I wonder if this is the beginning of the end for Teen Wolf.

That’s a good thought Patrick but I’d rather have the Saints lose tomorrow than win. It just makes it easier for us to get in. I know it would be very hard for us to win against a desperate Saints team in New Orleans but I can imagine that the Bucs would be pretty desperate themselves.
Just gotta hope for the best.
