How To Stop The Bengals

October 9th, 2010

In an effort to try to will the Rays and the Bulls to wins today, Derek “Old School” Fournier, of WhatTheBuc.net, dons Rays and Bulls gear. Oh, he doesn’t forget about the Bucs, either.

    As usual Derek great breakdown.

Great piece, Derek. I’ve been screaming it all along about the O-line. They’re letting in pressure in the pass game, to go along with not opening up holes in the run game unless they hold. Apparently Pro Football Focus agrees (I won’t pay their premium prices for stats, so can’t see them anymore, but what you brought sounds pretty fair). If we can’t get the O-line situation under control soon, we’re going to have a rough remainder of the season. I can only hope it doesn’t get blamed on the RBs or playcalling or something other than what it is. Maybe it’s the O-line coaching, I don’t know, but they need to get that fixed… and fast.

I hope they get Bennett and Crowder involved a whole bunch this week, I think they both do the best job of getting pressure from the end. Even Stylez looks better when lined up opposite one of them. I’d like to see Price in more often in all situations, although Miller does a good job, Price is quicker and may get more pressure.

Thanks guys. I got addicted to PFF last year and the price was not too bad.

As for the D Line, I agree with Steve White on many of those positions. I think if they are gonna see what young guys can do, they should be willing to try the young guys that are splashing when they get a chance (ahem…Regis Benn)

True, they should see what these guys got. I think if they aren’t getting it yet, the staff is pretty good about admitting that and switching back. Regis should be seeing more opportunity now. As should Blount. It only makes sense to see if it’s gonna work out better than what they’ve been doing (not that what they’ve been doing is bad, they are 2-1). Bennett and Crowder are both pretty young, I think they should see more time as well. I think it’s even possible to see a Briscoe sighting on the 53 man roster late in the season, especially if Stovall can’t stay healthy.

Hey Derek please tell me how you fit, ‘tautology’ into that vblog? This is BUCS football man – 90% of the readers here don’t have clue to what that word even means! LOL

While I don’t know about Bucs D in 1st vs. 2nd half I know that we’re ranked #28 against the run. I only wish I had Cedric Benson on fantasy football list this week!

I have to slip in SAT words to offset my profanity on the show. Plus, no harm in spreading love for the language, right?
