Three QBs Make The Cut

September 4th, 2010

Perhaps this is a function of Rudy Carpenter being a favorite of the head coach, as well as playing well against Houston on Thursday. Or maybe Josh Freeman is a more a question mark than thought.

Regardless, Carpenter is on the final 53-man roster, so reports Woody Cummings, of The Tampa Tribune.

Joe likes Carpenter. Good, eager kid.

Joe had a nice chat with him last year after he made the Bucs roster when Byron Leftwich came down with a phantom elbow injury that no MSM member ever asked him about.

why are the cuts coming in one by one?? …..don’t they release a list of the final 53 man roster at some point today???

I also saw Sabby made the team. I bet they will try to get Grimm on the practice squad. I doubt anyone would pick him up.

Yes, but players talk. They know who gets the dreaded phone call/text and word spreads.

Carpenter might not have the phyiscal tools….but the guy is a natural born QB….
I really don’t see in JJ what a team needs in a #2 QB

Is this just temporary for the 1st week? When talib comes off of suspension I see rudy going back to the practice squad…

  6. Dew Says:

leningan. We got Rudy off of the Cowboys practice squad. If we try getting him on ours they could reclaim him. Anyone released is free to sign with any team but they must add the player to there 53 man roster. So it would be a risk to try that route IMO.

Plus I beleive once they are released and clear waivers they can sign with any teams practice squad. I think that is correct?

I like what I have seen from Carpenter. He shows leadership and playmaking skills, and good touch on his passes. I am glad we kept him.

Hey Joe. Any clue what time the Bucs will hold a press conference tonight?
