Preseason Week 2
Chiefs at Bucs

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
TV: Blacked out. The game will be broadcast in its entirety Sunday morning on WFLA Ch. 8 at 11 a.m.
Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network (in Tampa WFUS-FM, 103.5 and WDAE-AM, 620); Sirius Channel 126.
Weather: Per AccuWeather.com, while it’s supposed to be rainy today, the thunderstorms are expected to clear for kickoff at the CITS with the temperature expected to be in the mid-80s with virtually no wind and soupy humidity. In other words, the beers should flow. Temperatures and the stagnant air should remain consistent through the end of the game.
Odds: Perย Bodog.com, Bucs -3.
Outlook: Yes, the game is blacked out. This has been well-documented. Joe will be at the game, in the stands, cold $8 beer at his side, hoping to dodge raindrops while developing blisters on his thumbs from Twittering on his trusty blackberry. … What will be interesting in this game is to see if Josh Freeman can continue his perfection the way he started the preseason last week at Miami. It will also be interesting to see if running back Derrick Ward can live up to his guarantee and run the ball effectively. He won’t have a baseball infield to blame this time (gee, how on earth did Jim Brown, Gayle Sayers or for that matter, Ricky Williams, ever succeed playing on a baseball infield?). … Joe is also looking forward to seeing rookie Brian Price wear the Bucs uniform for the first time. As Joe has documented many times already, Price was an absolute animal early in preseason, a fact Mark Dominik raved about on Sirius NFL Radio, until his tender hamstring flared up again.

  3. topdoggie Says:

Organize a hundred thousand Bucs Fans to put $3.50 a week into a pool all the extra tickects could be bought up. No blackouts. Donate the tickets to schools or boys and girls clubs.

  4. jared Says:

    Jesse-

I currently live over in the UK and am wayyyyyyyyyyyyy out of the market but I’ve found out that since I can’t get nfl ticket over here, to watch my bucs, you can goto a few websites:

    atdhe.net (The best)
    justin.tv
    channelsurfing.net

One of these should find you a good stream. Happy hunting ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Aldo Says:

for IE and FF users….thers and addon, most exactly a toolbar, his name is tenchis toolbar and they got streams for all, actually i check they have 2 available for the game, hope the toolbar works for all ya

  6. Crease22 Says:

  7. Jesse Says:

Thanks guys, ill try and use those :3

  8. Joe Says:

Joe, are there ANY websites out there that actually stream the games?

Joe has no idea and is not nor will not advocate pirate streams of NFL games. Joe doesn’t want to deal with NFL lawyers.

Joe kindly asks people to refrain from posting such websites.

  9. jared Says:

Sorry joe, can you please delete my post? ๐Ÿ™

  10. Jesse Says:

    Oh…my bad joe :/

  11. Rican Says:

Those site have been around for years, they wont be touched by anyone haha. But Jesse, you will be able to watch any game any time from one of those. Blackout are meaningless haha.

  12. Steve from Oregon Says:

    Hey Guys….check out channelsurfing.net

I think you will be able to watch the game live!!!!!

  13. Dave W. Says:

Joe, you can’t be held liable for what people post in your comments, especially if you remove it as soon as you see it. I’m surprised you don’t know this. In any case, you have nothing to worry about, except maybe loss of Blackout Tour revenue. But people will find internet streams to be unreliable, especially as the actual season starts. The NFL is on it.

  14. Radio Mushmouth Says:

WHo wants to take bets that beer is up to $8.50 this year ?? LOL

  15. Radio Mushmouth Says:

Hall of Famer Brian Price makes his debut tonight ….I am fully expecting about 4 and 1/2 sacks after the hype. He really slapped those tackling dummies to the ground in the 1st day of camp !

  16. Rican Says:

@Dave what has changed from last year to this year for the NFL to now be able to stop it?

  17. Rican Says:

Or the past three years for that matter

  18. Radio Mushmouth Says:

If channelsurfing.net really works for getting around the blackouts , I’m going to laugh my ASS off !!!! I will love it…

  19. Rican Says:

Mush there’s a better site But because joe asked I wont post it.
Actually go up to Jared’s post. It’s there

  20. Gatorbuc15 Says:

    GO BUCS GO!

    LAY WASTE TO THE CHIEFS.

By the way, atdhe.net works best.

  21. Rican Says:

lol Ironic, but there ya go Mush

  22. topdoggie Says:

@Crease22 LOL That was my next suggestion. What I suggested would work though. I would throw in a hundred. I been to most home games since Vinny was QB. My health isn’t so good right now. Kinda sucks no blackouts for the past ten years and the first year I can’t go we have them.
    Just my luck.

  23. Dave W. Says:

@Rican – Oh I don’t think they can stop it completely, but they have gotten a lot better about cutting down a lot of the streams, especially on justin.tv. For me, last year was a real pain in the ass a lot of times, maybe because the Bucs were terrible. Even atdhe.net was unreliable a lot of the time, with the stream just stopping or having really bad quality.

  24. Blackmagic00 Says:

    Love the picture Joe.

  25. Ozzie the Sports JUnkie Says:

    Hey Joe,
How but you break out the pastels and give us an artist rendering of the game??

  26. Pete Dutcher Says:

On the topic of blackouts, and I know this has been visited elsewhere, but while listening to the radio this week, a caller made a good point that I had not considered.

He said that given the number of streams, slingbox and all, it’s next to impossible to truly blackout a game in the present day world.

It’s a good point. Because, as I see it, it’s the underpriviledged homes that don’t have computers and Internet…so they won’t get to see the games. Ironically, those are the persons that are justified in not going to games in person due to finances.

The NFL really needs to revisit things.

I suggest no blackouts, but charge for the SB on pay-per-view. Look at WWE. They have multiple weekly programs where people see the product at no cost, then they have pay-per-view evens that really make their money. It’s a model the NFL should consider.

  27. Lakeland Bob Says:

Mush-your still complaining about what you consider a wasted 2nd round pick.I know you hope Price fails, but give the man a chance before you crucify him just to prove your point.

  28. Steve from Oregon Says:

Sorry Joe, I just saw your post, I will not advocate those sites on here anymore.

  29. Pete Dutcher Says:

Um…currently watching a stream, and it’s a channel 8 broadcast. The Tevelission guide says the game is on, but it’s on a commercial

  30. Patrick Says:

Crap, look at all those empty seats!!! This is really tragic

  31. thomas Says:

Not at the game, but I hear that it is sad. Some say that there are more empty than occupied seats.

  32. Joe Says:

    Hey Joe,
How but you break out the pastels and give us an artist rendering of the game??

    Good one Ozzie!

  33. Pete Dutcher Says:

It doesn’t look that bad. But you guys act like there should have been more seats filled, lol. It was blackedout for a reason, hehe.

  34. Pete Dutcher Says:

That safety Raheen intentionally took at the end was genius! Calling that play won us the game…well that and the sack.
