Chalk The Bucs Up For A Deuce

August 31st, 2010

"That's the last time I buy the swimsuit issue."

Per TBO.com, heralded Sports Illustrated NFL scribe Peter King unveils his NFL predictions tomorrow and the Bucs will check in with two wins, as in a 2-14 record in 2010.

TWO!

No word yet on whether King thinks the Bucs’ defensive mastermind/head coach will earn a third year after a two-win season (though King did tell Joe in an exclusive interview earlier this year that if the Bucs were not “significantly” better, King has his doubts about Raheem’s return).

If Joe could corner King over a bowl of oatmeal, of which he’s so fond, Joe would like to know why he thinks the 2010 Bucs are worse than last year’s edition.

Joe’s just not seeing that.

The only thing Joe can figure is that King looks at the Bucs’ second rate corps of receivers and running backs, and a second-year QB, and just can’t imagine how things will get better. Also, King can’t have much belief in the Bucs’ head coach.

It doesn’t take much coaching talent to land a couple of Ws.

So, I guess this settles the question of RahDom’s real identity.

Feeling like Rodney King over here…
Peter King can go and pound sand.

  3. Rob Says:

please remember King’s predictions for last year.. saints missing the playoffs at 7-9, chicago winning the NFC at 11-5 and playing NE in the super bowl. He was close with the Bucs (4-12) but that’s about it.

    2-14?

    Yep, that’s about right.

  5. Gatorbuc15 Says:

Peter King is brainless! He’s made some of the worst predictions ever! So I don’t think that this one about the Bucs will really come to pass.

    2-14? No F****** way!

  6. Pete Dutcher Says:

    @eric – @Peter King
    Get a life…and a new team.

There is absolutely no way for the Bucs to end 2-14. Anyone with a brain knows that. In fact, it is unlikely they will end up worse than 6-10, and I’m thinking they will be 8-8 or better.

  7. Larry Says:

Gee Peter, which two teams can we beat? What an idiot!

  8. Daron Says:

I am biased, and I will be the first to admit that. But I don’t see how an unbiased….or even a hater of the Bucs can put us at 2-14. Two of our biggest needs last year were defensive line and wide receiver. Both issues were addressed. How does that translate to a worse team? That is not even taking into account that our strength of schedule this year is dramatically easier than last year.

  9. goodfellajay Says:

sorry more like 7-9 or better..look ill be the first one to say im wrong but we are better than last year so i dont see 2 wins only..no fan should not but hey theres also a loser that wants a losing team..

  10. goodfellajay Says:

btw we will beat the browns..

  11. Brandon Says:

AT LEAST 8-8. We have something like the 7th easiest schedule. PLUS, we are MUCH better this season. I have studied our schedule many times and we have a very good chance of finishing .500 or better. This guy is an idiot.

  12. oar Says:

Yeah, and if palm trees and saltwater were wings and beer, we’d all be happy! Easy schedules are for whinners!

  13. eric Says:

Steelers, at Bengals, at Ravens, at Cardinals, at 49ers, and the NFC South which includes the Super Bowl Champs?

    Not an easy schedule.

  14. goodfellajay Says:

Cardinals, at 49ers Bengals,…lol they suck,,stop watching espn bro

  15. Rican Says:

    Peter King = Joke
Why waste our brain cells with anything he writes on your site??

  16. jaytek74 Says:

I do not think that anyone who had to wager their paycheck would still pick 2 or less wins for the Bucs. Their are just a lot of haters. The Bucs may not hit 6 or more wins but they are definitely in better shape than last season.

  17. eric Says:

I thhink we are pretty comparable to the 2008 lions. They came off seven wins and all puffed up and went 0-16.

  18. thomas Says:

I think Peter is off by precisely 2 wins, this team will shock everyone and go 4-12. Jimbuc and Capt Dim will expect a Dale Mabry parade b/c of the 1 game improvement under this “rebuild” (or technically a 5 game slide compared to 2008).

You sheep need to realize that there is a great chance that I have overestimated the quality of this team and Peter is right.

Here is one virtual certainty: we are headed for 10 blackouts this season (if we avoid one or two it is due to the opposing fans). That is sad, sad, sad – if nothing else, this rebuild has sucked the life and excitement out of the fan base – except for Jim and Dim of course – who I fully expect to reach certifiable insanity when this group of incompetents gets canned!

With these owners, and this coach, doom & gloom is all we have to look forward to! Well stated Thomas!

  20. goodfellajay Says:

theres is no blackouts in my house…use ur cpu for good and stream

  21. Rican Says:

lol If doom and gloom is what you desire doom and gloom is what you’ll get. No matter what the outcome. Fun’s an attitude not an activity, put the razor blade down and start supporting the team whether you think they will produce a W or not.

  22. Tampa2 Says:

I support the Bucs. But I don’t support a takeover by amateur coaches and owners that could care less about the fans, only the cash! Doom & Gloom it will be until we get a Professional coaching staff in here, or an ownership that wants to win.
