McCoy Might Be Better Than Advertised

May 22nd, 2010

What better for Bucs fans to start a Saturday morning than word of manbeast-in-waiting Gerald McCoy possibly being better than advertised?

That could drive many a fan to head to BucGear.com and buy a McCoy jersey immediately.

Vacation Man, of BSPN.com, in a live NFC South chat for the Soviet-loving Disney icon, told a participant that the whispers at One Buc Place during OTAs last week were that McCoy was more of an impact player than first thought.

… I say McCoy for the Bucs. I heard this week Bucs now think he’s even better than they thought when they drafted him.

This is very high praise, considering Raheem The Dream has been calling McCoy “the face of the franchise” since before the first OTA.

If this guy can really be a first-year manbeast, Joe suspects the Bucs run defense is going to climb far out where it sat in the NFL cellar last year. See, Joe can dream without the aid of cheerleader photos.

Joe, I’m calling bullshit on that one. Your a total perv like the rest of us. Nice report though.

  4. Radio Mushmouth Says:

Yes Raheem “Mushmouth” Morris is an idiot , I agree.

  5. SLY Says:

No, our scouting department was CORRECT in their evaluation. Mushmouth….DUH…

  6. Radio Mushmouth Says:

No , they were wrong …they didn’t even realize how good McCoy was , LOL.

  7. Eric Says:

How do you demonstrate your “impact player” statuts at OTA’s?

The ole “wow this guy or that guy is better than we thought” is happening with all 32 teams in the league. Hell Dallas people are saying Dez Bryant is the best wideout prospect they have ever seen.

McCoy will probably be very good, but that evaluation will occur on Sundays in the Fall not OTA’s in the summer.

    Your ALL idiots!
Let’s wait to the first couple of Pre-Season games.
It’s the same stuff ever year people. All the same quotes, “he’s the guy we targeted, he fits our scheme”

When are you people going to relize how this works.
I am curious why do you people think Raheem is an idiot. What is he doing that’s so stupid?

  11. MVPFreeman Says:

    Eric

I agree. Its too early to evalutate your players.

Everyone wants to create hype and sell tickets. Not just the Bucs either, even the freaking Jets have said they might have trouble selling the games out this year (although the owners will buy those seats). So it only makes sense to hype up your draft picks, whether they “look good” or not.

The only thing is, if your draft picks suck, fans will be even angrier than if you would have kept your mouth shut.

    CHARGEEDCBH-

What are you talking about? The only person that suggested Raheem was dumb is Radio Mushmouth.

    Joe,

I feel like you’ve gone a little Manic-depressive in the offseason. The articles on this blog are “doom and gloom” one minute and then “gallons of Buc-flavored kool-aid” the next…

MVP more than just Mushmouth have suggested Raheem was in over his head, stupid, or an idiot. Nobody has ever said why, there just reading these stupid comments from Joe.

this is just like the freeman sell job we have been getting this offseason… Growing leaps and bounds, consumate leader..etc. but look at Cody Grimm’s story and he talks of picking him twice, talib gets him twice, no telling how many other picks he’s had this offseason…Mainpoint, this is just OTA’s after the third preseason game, we will know a bit more. Honestly, by the end of next season, we might know if McCoy and Freeman are going to be the picks that we are being sold..um I mean told they are. Being said, i’m putting on my pewter shades and hoping they are. I said last year I didn’t like the Freeman draft, it looks a little better this year. I love this year’s draft. Hopefully all of our picks over deliver and are better than expected.

  17. tnew Says:

Oh, and I have stated many times why I think Raheem was over his head. Main reason #1 the Jagodzinski debacle, reason 2, the Bates debacle. Coaches must surround themselves with talented coaches. We wasted an entire season because of these two hires and how they were handled. This season should be better because everything is more settled from the start but throwing away entire seasons just can’t happen.

  18. Eric Says:

    As to Raheem.

  19. Louie Says:

I’m not believing ANYTHING until I see it happen on the field. I guess that makes me a hater, right?

  20. topdoggie Says:

@ tnew Rheem had those coaches picked for him at the last minute because all the good talent was already gone. He had the balls to dump them when it was clear they wouldn’t be a good fit fors the Bucs.
How again does someones elses bad picks make him dumb? Let’s see how he does this year.

  21. Radio Mushmouth Says:

LOL @ claiming I’m the only one who says Rah is a dumb ass.

    LOL!

The entire sane world thinks that.

  22. Dan Sileo Says:

so the Bucs like another player in practice without pads … OK
